Back in her room and about to take a shower, Serena Yardley got a call from Ethan Yardley.
She answered, "What is it?"
"Come out. I’m at the school gate."p>
Serena couldn’t help but laugh. "I’m already home."
There was a moment of confused silence on the other end.
"Well, I’m off to take a shower. Bye!"
Thinking about how that old man wasn’t so bad to her, Serena’s attitude toward him had improved a lot.
Ethan sighed. "See you in a bit!"
Serena hung up the phone and grabbed her clothes. She went into the bathroom, humming a little tune as she ran the water for a bath. She was in a pretty good mood.
Ethan Yardley hurried home.
As he stood in the entryway changing his shoes, Vivian Lynch came out of the kitchen and saw him.
Vivian froze, staring dumbfounded at the man by the door, utterly stunned.
Her mother had told her that their employer was a very capable entrepreneur.
But she had no idea he would be so young, so handsome, and so tall.
For a moment, Vivian was spellbound, her eyes fixed on him in fascination.
Ethan realized there was someone else in the house and looked toward the kitchen doorway.
Seeing an unfamiliar young woman, he asked with a deadpan expression, "Mrs. Miller’s daughter?"
Vivian snapped back to reality and hurried over to him.
"Um, y-you... hello. I’m Mrs. Miller’s daughter. My name is Vivian Lynch, and I’m eighteen..."
"Weren’t you supposed to go straight to the main estate? What are you doing here?"
Ethan interrupted her.
He didn’t like having extra people intruding on his life.
The only reason Mrs. Miller was there was to take care of Serena’s daily needs.
Seeing his imposing aura, Vivian quickly lowered her head.
"M-my mom asked me to come and thank you."
Ethan didn’t say anything else. Figuring she would leave shortly, he headed upstairs.
Vivian remained standing there, staring blankly at his tall, imposing figure as he walked away.
’How can there be an entrepreneur this young and handsome?’
’Are he and that woman from earlier really husband and wife?’
’But they look so mismatched to me.’
Just then, Mrs. Miller came back with groceries. When she saw her daughter standing stock-still in the living room and staring upstairs, she quickly said:
"What are you staring at? Get things ready. Mr. Yardley and Miss Serena will be home soon."
Vivian hurried over to help her mother with the bags and asked:
"Mom, this Miss Serena you were talking about... how old is she? Is she really the boss’s wife?"
Mrs. Miller shot her daughter a look and walked into the kitchen carrying the groceries. "Miss Serena is twenty. She’s a bit on the short side, but Mr. Yardley dotes on her."
"And how old is Mr. Yardley?"
"Mr. Yardley is about thirty, I’d say."
Vivian was stunned to hear that.
’He’s ten years older than her.’
’So, do all rich men like younger women?’
’I’m only eighteen... Does that mean I’d be popular with rich men too?’
In that moment, an idea began to form in Vivian’s mind.
...
「Upstairs.」
After a wonderful bath, Serena changed into her loungewear and stepped out of the bathroom.
As she stood at the bathroom door, she suddenly saw a tall man standing in the room.
The man had his back to her and was undressing.
He had just taken off his shirt, revealing a broad expanse of sexy, healthy-looking skin.
His waist was so perfect it could only be described as flawless.
’I don’t even need to see the front,’ Serena imagined. ’A physique like that has to have a six-pack, at the very least.’
At the thought of the night she got drunk and slept with him, her cheeks suddenly flushed.
Her heart was pounding in her chest.
A burning heat spread through her, making her breathing heavy.
Ethan realized someone was behind him, but he pretended not to know and started to unbuckle his belt to take off his pants.
When Serena saw him start to take off his pants, she knew she should feel ashamed and look away, but for some reason, her eyes refused to obey. She just kept staring.
She even felt a flicker of anticipation, chanting inwardly, ’Take them off, take them off. Take it all off.’
But, as if to deliberately tease her, Ethan stopped short of taking his pants off and suddenly spun around to face her.
"What are you looking at?"
Serena hadn’t expected him to suddenly turn around. Flustered, she glanced around nervously and let out a hollow laugh.
"Whoa, it’s so hot today!"
Fanning herself with her hand, she turned, wanting to leave the room.
Ethan wasn’t about to let her go.
He suddenly moved to block the door, lowering his head to gaze at her.
"You like my body, Serena?"
Serena’s face flushed scarlet. She met his gaze and retorted, "W-Who says I like it?"
"If you don’t like it, then why were you peeking?"
"What do you mean, ’peeking’? You make it sound like I’m some sheltered little girl.
Don’t forget, I’ve slept with you already. A body like yours is average at best, so don’t get a big head about it."
She raised her hand to pat his shoulder, trying to get around him and leave.
Ethan once again raised a hand to block her, bracing it against the doorframe.
But he’d placed his arm too high. Serena ducked slightly and slipped right under his arm.
She put on a fierce act. "Move! I need to get out."
"Serena’s blushing."
Ethan’s voice was gentle, and he slowly approached her step by step.
Serena quickly raised a hand to touch her face.
’It does feel a little hot.’
Seeing the man approach, she retreated step by step.
She retreated, he advanced.
He backed Serena all the way to the foot of the bed, where she stumbled and fell back onto it.
Ethan bent down, leaning close. His gaze was full of affection, and his deep, magnetic voice was so intoxicatingly good it could get a girl pregnant.
"Serena, I’m all yours. You can do whatever you want to me. If you want to look, you can look your fill, no need to hide."
"As long as you’re willing, I’ll do anything you say."
Serena propped herself up on the bed with both hands, her body tilting backward.
With him still closing in on her, she could barely hold herself up.
And yet, for some strange reason, she had no desire to push him away.
’He’s just so good-looking.’
His bare torso was a temptation she was sinking into.
Especially his solid chest and those clearly visible abs.
And the aura of mature, wild masculinity that radiated from him.
Serena admitted to herself that she had basic taste, and she was loving the view.
And she wanted a bite, too.
When Ethan saw that Serena didn’t resist his approach, he pushed his luck even further.
He raised a hand to cradle the back of her head, slowly leaning toward her face. His cool lips pressed against her soft, full mouth.
The moment his lips touched hers, Serena felt a jolt, as if struck by electricity.
A tingling numbness spread through her entire body in an instant.
Greedily, she abandoned all resistance. She instinctively closed her eyes, her breath coming in heavy pants as she let the man before her do as he wished.
’Anyway, they’re husband and wife, aren’t they?’
’Besides, it’s not like she’d be the one losing out in this scenario.’
But just as the two of them were finally lost in a passionate kiss, a knock suddenly sounded at the door.
Ethan pretended not to hear, unwilling to let go of the woman in his arms.
Serena also wanted to pretend she hadn’t heard. She didn’t want this wonderfully sweet moment—the likes of which she’d never felt before—to end so soon.
But the knocking continued.
Left with no choice, Ethan released Serena. He cupped her small face, which was flushed an alluring, peachy-pink, and spoke in a gentle voice.
"Don’t worry, Serena. We’ll continue this tonight."
At his words, Serena kicked out at him in embarrassment.
"Who’s worried? Honestly! You were the one taking advantage of me."
She pouted and angrily turned her head away.
Ethan chuckled softly and ruffled her hair. "Alright, alright. I was the one in a rush. Don’t be mad, Serena. I’ll get the door."
"Go on."
Serena felt truly mortified. She rolled over on the bed, grabbing a pillow to cover her burning face.
Ethan pulled open the door. His expression instantly darkened, his aura turning cold.
Vivian, at the door, quickly bowed her head and said:
"M-Mr. Yardley, dinner is ready. Please come downstairs to eat."
Ethan looked at her and said coldly, "Noted. You may go."
"Okay."
Vivian felt the man’s presence was simply too overwhelming. She didn’t dare look him in the eye and scurried away.
Ethan returned to the room. Seeing the woman covering her head with a pillow, he bent down and pulled her up.
"Come on, let’s go downstairs and eat."
Serena felt so shy, she was too embarrassed to look at him, and said with her head lowered:
"You go ahead. I’m not hungry, I’ll eat in a bit."
"Serena, there’s no need to be shy. I’m your husband."
Ethan found it amusing that she was too embarrassed to even look at him.
This was completely different from the time she had taken the initiative to kiss him for the first time.
"You’re so annoying."
Serena forced herself to be calm, telling herself not to act like some naive little girl.
She met his gaze, holding it, trying her best to get used to the awkward feeling.
Ethan looked back at her, his eyes full of tenderness.
Serena felt that when she looked at him, her heart still sped up and her face still flushed.
Feeling like a teenager with her first crush, she abruptly pushed him away, got up, and ran out of the room.
’This is crazy.’
’How can I be like this?’
’It’s like I’ve never seen a man before.’
