Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Scheming Against Her Again

The kiss left Serena Yardley breathless.

Her face was flushed and burning with shyness as she raised her hands to push against the man beside her.

"Ethan, don’t do this."

The man moved his lips to her neck, his voice husky and bewitching. "Don’t do what?"

"I just couldn’t sleep, so I came to talk to you. Don’t touch me."

The corner of the man’s lips curved up as he teased her. "You really don’t want me to touch you?"

’This woman clearly likes it, but she’s still pretending to be reserved.’ ’Did he not know what she was really like?’

"Then... will you really always be good to me?"

Serena Yardley felt a little insecure.

In her eyes, Ethan Yardley was perfect in every way, and she felt she wasn’t quite good enough for him.

She was afraid that after giving him everything and loving him with all her heart, she would end up losing disastrously again.

Then there were the things Sylvia Schuyler had said. Although Serena had no way to verify the truth, she was the one who had suffered the tragedy.

She was terrified of making the same mistake again.

Ethan Yardley kissed her cheek, abandoning the idea of continuing to tease her.

He raised his arms and held her tight. "Serena, you should trust me completely. I will absolutely not let you down again this time."

’Without Sylvia Schuyler in the picture, no one could shake this girl’s place in his heart.’ ’Besides, even when Sylvia Schuyler had shown up before, he never thought of letting her go, much less treated her badly.’

Serena Yardley nestled in the man’s arms and said no more.

Ethan Yardley kissed her forehead and asked in a low voice, "Is that okay?"

"Huh? What?"

Serena Yardley didn’t know what he was talking about.

"Continue?"

Serena Yardley suddenly understood.

She bit her lip, unsure if she should agree.

"If Serena isn’t ready, then maybe another day."

Ethan wasn’t that desperate, after all.

But for some reason, Serena Yardley was a little excited. She asked him shyly, "Do you have... you know? If you do, then... we can."

The moment she said it, she wished she could pull the blanket over her head.

Fortunately, the room was dim, so he probably couldn’t see her blushing face.

Ethan Yardley pretended to ask, "Serena means..."

"Oh, you’re so annoying! Let’s just go to sleep."

Feeling like she could die of embarrassment, Serena Yardley wriggled out of his embrace, turned her back to him, and pretended to sleep.

Ethan Yardley chuckled softly and got up, saying,

"Serena, wait for me. I always keep some at home."

Ethan Yardley got out of bed and went to the storage cabinet to get one.

But on his way back, a devious thought crossed his mind.

’Serena doesn’t want to have children, but having a child is her only guarantee.’ ’He didn’t want his whole family to target her in the future.’ ’The family just wants a child, don’t they? Fine, I’ll give them one.’ ’At least then he and Serena could be together forever, without anyone’s interference.’

Thinking this, Ethan Yardley went back to the master bedroom, grabbed a pair of scissors, and tampered with the condom.

Only after he was done did he return to the guest bedroom.

That night, Serena Yardley personally experienced the pleasure and joy the man gave her.

It was a feeling she had never had before, one she greedily savored.

So much so that she quickly grew accustomed to her identity as Mrs. Yardley.

She opened her heart without reservation, letting this man named Ethan Yardley take his place within it.

Afterward, he held her tightly, and she fell into a peaceful sleep in his warm embrace.

The next morning, Serena Yardley didn’t wake up until eight-thirty.

When she opened her eyes, she saw the sun was already shining through the thick blackout curtains.

She jumped, sitting up abruptly to look for her phone.

She couldn’t find her phone, but she heard the man’s pleasant voice from beside her. "Serena’s awake?"

Serena Yardley immediately asked, "What time is it?"

"It’s still early."

Ethan Yardley went to open the curtains.

The blinding sunlight made Serena Yardley instinctively raise a hand to shield her eyes. She exclaimed in alarm,

"Did I sleep for a long time? I have class! Oh no, I’m definitely late."

She scrambled to get out of bed, but the man came over and held her down.

"No rush. I already called you in for the morning. We can take our time getting ready and go over then."

As he spoke, he picked her up and carried her to the bathroom.

Serena Yardley: "..."

She didn’t have time to refuse before he had swept her into his arms.

She instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, not knowing what to say.

When Ethan Yardley was in a good mood, he was always very gentle with Serena Yardley, and especially patient.

If he wasn’t in a hurry to get to the office, he would personally help her wash up, get dressed, and put on her shoes.

In short, he waited on her as if she were a helpless invalid.

For Serena Yardley, who had just given herself to him completely, this gave her an even greater sense of security and happiness.

After dropping Serena Yardley off at the school gate, Ethan Yardley hurried to his company.

Serena Yardley glanced at the time. It was almost noon.

She was about to rush through the school gates when she suddenly saw her roommate—the one who had taken her bed—getting out of a black sedan that had just pulled over nearby.

Normally, this wouldn’t have been anything special.

But Serena Yardley happened to catch a glimpse of the man driving the black sedan, and he looked somewhat familiar.

She quickly ducked behind a large tree up ahead, tilting her head to get a better look at the man in the car.

What she saw left her stunned.

’It’s my brother-in-law...’ ’Why would he be dropping that roommate off at school?’ ’And what is his relationship with that roommate?’

Seeing the car drive away and her roommate enter the school, Serena Yardley hurried after her.

"Hey, Cynthia Meyer."

Serena Yardley wasn’t very familiar with this new roommate.

If Cynthia hadn’t taken over her bed, she wouldn’t have even known her.

However, the two of them weren’t on bad terms. They had even eaten, drank, and watched movies together before.

Hearing her name, Cynthia Meyer turned around. She looked curious when she saw it was Serena Yardley.

"How come you’re also coming back from outside?"

"Hehe, I don’t live on campus, so of course I’m coming from outside. I just got here a little late."

Serena Yardley put an arm around her shoulder and asked tentatively, "Who was that person who just dropped you off? He looked pretty handsome." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

At the question, Cynthia Meyer lowered her head, looking a bit shy. "He’s just... an older brother figure."

"An older brother figure? Are you two close?"

"Mmm... Well, he’s very good to me."

Cynthia Meyer didn’t want to talk about her personal affairs with others. She quickly made an excuse, "I have to get to class. Talk to you later."

With that, she hurried away.

Serena Yardley stood there, her expression darkening.

Although she didn’t know Nina’s husband very well, from what she had seen, her brother-in-law was very good to Nina.

’He couldn’t be... cheating, could he?’ ’Or maybe Cynthia and my brother-in-law are relatives?’ ’Should I tell Nina what I saw today?’

Serena Yardley was very conflicted.

Around noon, she made a point to call Nina Thorne.

When the call connected, she greeted her with a sweet smile in her voice, "Nina! We haven’t seen each other in days. What have you been busy with lately?"

"I’m at work. If Serena misses me, you can come over to my place tonight and keep me company."

"Okay! Wait for me, then. I’ll come find you tonight."

After hanging up, Serena Yardley was about to put her phone away when another call came in.

An unconscious smile spread across her face as she answered, "Hello~"

Her voice was noticeably softer and sweeter.

Ethan Yardley’s voice was also gentle. "I had my secretary send some food over for you. Go to the school gate to pick it up."

Hearing this, Serena Yardley felt a warmth spread through her chest, but she still pretended to complain,

"I already had lunch. Why would you trouble your secretary to bring me food?"

"Then I’ll arrange for a chef at the school. You can just eat there every day. Tell the chef whatever you want to eat."

Serena Yardley felt overwhelmed by the favor. "Really? A chef just for me?"

"Of course."

’He was mainly worried that if Serena got pregnant, he wouldn’t be around, and she would eat carelessly.’ ’So, starting now, he wanted her to get used to being fed at every mealtime.’

"Alright, I know."

Serena Yardley agreed, pouting her lips playfully.

Ethan Yardley checked the time. He had to attend a dinner engagement soon.

Before hanging up, he requested, "Serena, how about a kiss?"

Serena Yardley’s cheeks flushed, and she refused coquettishly, "A kiss? Are all you old men this cheesy?"

Ethan Yardley didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "This is cheesy?"

"Of course it is."

"Alright then. I’ll come pick you up this afternoon."

"Hmph, who needs you to pick me up? Goodbye."

Serena Yardley felt a little giddy and quickly hung up.

After hanging up, she couldn’t stop grinning foolishly to herself, her mind filled with the image of that "old man’s" devastatingly handsome face.
