Sir, Please Sign Here to Get a Divorce-Chapter 141: Serena, I Want...
After watching Ethan Yardley leave, Nina Thorne completely ignored the man on the floor and carried her son upstairs to rest.
She also told the nanny not to bother with him.
Soon, the vast living room was empty except for Quinn Gardner, lying on the carpet with his clothes soaked in tea by the child.
He opened his eyes and glanced around. No one was there.
He had no choice but to lie there, miserably licking his wounds in solitude.
’That woman is truly heartless.’
’He was passed out drunk on the floor, and she still didn’t care.’
After lying there for a while longer and seeing that still no one was coming for him, Quinn Gardner felt too embarrassed to continue the charade. He quietly got up and went upstairs to a guest room to sleep.
「Next door.」
When Ethan Yardley returned, he saw Mrs. Miller clearing the dining table. "Leave it for now," he ordered. "I’m going to have a couple more drinks."
He sat back down by himself, grabbed the bottle, and began to drink heavily again.
’What was he going to do if Serena refused to come back before the baby was born?’
’Did she really want him to make her get an abortion? Would that make her happy?’
The more he thought about it, the worse he felt.
As his misery grew, Ethan Yardley downed several more glasses.
Mrs. Miller walked over and said, "Mr. Yardley, may I take some time off to go home? Something’s come up with my family."
Ethan Yardley waved his hand. "Go ahead."
"Yes, sir. Then just leave the glasses when you’re done. I’ll clean up when I come back tomorrow."
Ethan Yardley didn’t respond. Seeming anxious, Mrs. Miller grabbed her phone and hurried out of the villa.
...
「At school.」
Serena Yardley sat at her desk, staring blankly at the ring in her hand.
Ever since she started wearing this ring, many of her classmates had asked if she was married.
She didn’t know how to explain it to them, so she had taken it off.
’This ring must be incredibly expensive,’ she thought. ’What if I lose it?’
Looking over at Vivian Lynch, who wasn’t far off, Serena Yardley called out, "Come here."
Vivian Lynch stood up and walked over, her attitude deferential. "Miss Serena."
Serena Yardley placed the ring in a small box and handed it to her. "Take this ring back to the villa for me. Just put it in the drawer of my nightstand."
"Should I take it back now?" Vivian Lynch asked.
Serena Yardley got up and moved toward her bed. "Whenever."
"Alright."
Vivian Lynch was planning to take it back the next day, but then her phone rang. It was her mother calling.
After hanging up, she went over to Serena Yardley and said,
"Miss Serena, I’ll take it back tonight. Something happened at my home, so my mom had to leave. There’s no one at The Sovereign Villa to clean, so I’ll head over and tidy up."
"Go ahead."
Serena Yardley paid her no mind and lay down to sleep.
Vivian Lynch left the school and immediately hailed a cab to The Sovereign Villa.
Her mother had told her on the phone that Mr. Yardley was at the villa drinking alone. She had asked Vivian to go back first thing in the morning to clean up and, while she was at it, make breakfast for Mr. Yardley.
Hearing this, why would Vivian Lynch want to wait until morning?
’This was a golden opportunity to be alone with Mr. Yardley. How could she possibly miss it?’
On the way, she even made a special detour to an adult novelty store.
After that, she headed straight for The Sovereign Villa.
She pushed open the door and stepped inside. The house was pitch-black.
Vivian Lynch flipped on the lights, and her eyes immediately fell on the man passed out drunk at the dining table.
A flicker of delight sparked within her. She walked over and stood beside him, calling out, "Mr. Yardley? Mr. Yardley?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Ethan Yardley gave no response.
An empty liquor bottle sat on the dining table.
After Quinn Gardner had left, he had finished the entire remaining half-bottle of strong whiskey.
After finishing it, he lacked the presence of mind to even get up and go to his room, ultimately collapsing onto the table.
When he didn’t wake up, Vivian Lynch reached out to steady him. "Mr. Yardley, are you okay?"
The man was still completely unresponsive.
Standing beside him and gazing at his handsome profile, Vivian Lynch couldn’t resist reaching out to touch him.
She had never in her life seen a man so beautiful. He was like a work of art God had left behind on earth, so handsome it filled one with covetous desire.
And that was to say nothing of his extraordinary status and immense prestige.
She never imagined that she, Vivian Lynch, would one day be standing beside one of the wealthiest men in the world, greedily admiring his stunning features.
But how could just looking at him ever be enough?
Her eyes filled with undisguised desire, she leaned in close to his handsome face, wanting to kiss him.
"Serena..."
The man slumped on the table finally stirred.
He murmured the name and sat up straight.
Startled, Vivian Lynch jumped back, calling out nervously, "M-Mr. Yardley, are you alright?"
Hearing her voice, Ethan Yardley turned his head.
He saw a woman standing beside him and narrowed his eyes, trying to get a clear look at her, but his vision was a blurry, overlapping mess.
But subconsciously, he knew his Serena wasn’t home.
He ignored her, dragging his heavy body to its feet and staggering toward the stairs.
Seeing him on the verge of collapse, Vivian Lynch rushed forward to support him. "Mr. Yardley, let me help you."
Ethan Yardley didn’t refuse.
After they finally made it upstairs and into the bedroom, Ethan Yardley saw the large bed and collapsed onto it, still muttering under his breath.
"Serena... Serena..."
Vivian Lynch knelt beside the bed and took off his shoes.
Once that was done, she stood up and began to unbutton his shirt.
Ethan Yardley lay on the large bed. Though barely conscious, he could feel someone touching him.
He swatted her hand away and barked, "Get lost!"
Vivian Lynch jumped, startled again.
Looking at the man on the bed, she saw that even unconscious, the powerful, innate aura he exuded was enough to make her falter.
She didn’t dare make another move and turned to leave.
But when she reached the doorway, she stopped.
’This is such a perfect opportunity,’ she thought. ’Am I really going to do nothing?’
’The Yardley Family is so wealthy. If I stay tonight, I’m sure I can get a hefty compensation fee at the very least.’
’With that money, I could live a life of luxury. I’d never have to bow and scrape like a dog, waiting on my masters, ever again.’
Ethan Yardley, who had been comatose, slowly began to regain consciousness as a wave of nausea churned in his stomach.
He looked at the blurry figure before him, feeling an unbearable heat wash over his body.
He murmured again, "Serena, Serena..."
Vivian Lynch quickly leaned closer. Thinking she was Serena, Ethan Yardley yanked her down, pinning her to the bed. He stared at her, his voice slurred and delirious.
"Serena, I want..."
