Sixth Ring Wizard-Chapter 700: Fishing for Prey
What surprised Herag even more was the speed of the swarm's movement.
After they discovered the swarm approaching, they accelerated to move away, not wanting to get caught in a tough battle with the swarm.
However, they found that the swarm moved exceptionally fast, faster than their speed traversing the void.
The perception network of the Cyan Beetle Race not only has perception capabilities, but all Cyan Beetles within the network can achieve extremely fast movement.
They can glide along the world's rules here as if they were clinging to silk threads. The world's rules here are like cables, allowing these Cyan Beetles to move quickly.
This is one of the reasons why the Cyan Beetle Race can effectively control the Cyan Armor Star Realm; they can rely on this method to quickly reach and handle any issues.
However, such a method can only be used within the territory of the Cyan Armor Star Realm; outside this territory, the perception network does not exist.
The larger the perception network's area, the larger the area that the Cyan Beetle Race can effectively control.
Although it looked like Herag's group did not enter the Cyan Armor Star Realm, they had indeed entered its range and could not fully escape in a short time.
At least before the Cyan Beetle Swarm arrived, it would be difficult to leave this area.
The Cyan Armor Star Realm dominates a vast region.
Herag quickly saw the appearance of the swarm, rapidly enlarging from extreme distance to close proximity.
This swarm was divided into four legions, with well-ordered formations, estimated at hundreds of thousands in number.
Each of the four legions was led by a six-winged Cyan Beetle, with a seven-winged Cyan Beetle overseeing them.
As they got closer, Herag roughly gauged the enemy's strength.
The opposing force did not hide their presence at all, making it easy to sense.
Seeing that evasion was impossible, Herag's group stopped. This swarm did not pose much of a threat to them.
It wasn't that Herag himself was too confident, but because with the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor around, they had more confidence in many situations.
The Thousand-Eyed Ancestor looked at the menacing approaching swarm and said, "We can't shake them off, so why not go big?"
"What do you mean?" Herag asked.
"I haven't tasted the Heart of the Insect Race in a long time; I kind of miss it," the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor said.
Herag replied, "You want to directly wipe out this race?"
He didn't expect the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor to be so bold, actually wanting to directly eliminate a race.
Although the swarm currently didn't appear very powerful, they didn't know the strength of the race's king behind them.
If the opponent also turned out to be a Ninth-level Life, it would be troubling.
From the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor's attitude, it seemed he didn't care even if the opposing race was Ninth-Level.
"If it doesn't work out, we should retreat. Starting a fight will likely attract attention from other insects, which would be quite troublesome," the Toad said.
The Toad didn't want Herag to get caught up in such a whirlpool because of its issues and thought retreating was better.
"It's not at that level yet. Going back now would be a shame; plus, I want to study this swarm's bloodline power," Herag said.
The Thousand-Eyed Ancestor nodded, saying, "Don't worry, if it becomes impossible, I'll tell you to retreat. So far, there's nothing here that makes me feel threatened."
The Thousand-Eyed Ancestor was calm and collected, showing no worry and seeming very confident.
"What is this race's level?" Herag asked.
Knowing the situation is beneficial for future decisions, but Herag couldn't discern it without the necessary information and experience.
"No more than Level 8," the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor said, looking at the Cyan Armor Star Realm ahead. "A Level 9 race wouldn't just occupy one star realm; they often span multiple star realms. Judging by the swarm they've deployed, with the highest only being Level 7, their king is likely Level 8."
Herag understood why the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor could remain so composed; for him, this race indeed posed no threat.
"Later, I won't intervene at first. You should handle them without any problem," the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor said.
Herag smiled and said, "Okay."
The Thousand-Eyed Ancestor was using him as bait, wanting to draw out more of the swarm and deplete the Insect Race's strength.
The opponent likely didn't know the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor was a Ninth-level Life; otherwise, they wouldn't dare pursue them, as that would be a path to self-destruction.
With the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor not making a move, they would only think Herag was the leader and strongest of the group.
If they couldn't capture Herag initially, they would later send more forces. Clearly, the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor was prepared to draw out and eliminate these insect forces.
The nests of the Insect Race usually have special defensive measures, making a direct attack troublesome and difficult to quickly overcome.
The Thousand-Eyed Ancestor was clearly aware of this, so instead of attacking directly, he chose to first wear down their forces, making the attack on the nest easier.
The Insect Race relies on large numbers and strength; the larger their population, the greater the strength they gather.
While they spoke, the swarm had arrived at their doorstep, coming to the forefront.
Without much chatter, the frontmost insect army charged forward, mostly composed of Level 4 and Level 5 insects.
Herag took a step forward, activating the Bloodline Mark and entering the Ancestral True Form, then using the Titan Power, instantly growing to over a thousand meters tall.
His entire body was covered in dark-golden skin, and a pair of dark-golden wings spread out behind him, with lightning swirling around him.
Herag slowly opened his eyes, a streak of lightning flashing across them.
He stretched out his hand, gathering a thunder sword several hundred meters long, crystal-clear.
At this moment, the swarm charged in, countless Cyan Beetles attacking.
There seemed to be many different types of these Cyan Beetles, utilizing a variety of attack methods.
Some had parts of their body swelling with spikes and blades, while others appeared like casters, with strange energies surging inside them, forming energy attacks similar to wizard magic.
Herag ignored these attacks, raised his longsword, and chopped down fiercely, instantly killing countless Cyan Beetles.
The lightning and Rule of Destruction attached to the thunder sword were tremendously lethal, turning countless Cyan Beetles to charcoal or completely annihilating them.
The various attacks of the Cyan Beetles that hit Herag had no effect on him, not even scratching his skin.
With the presence of the Inner Domain and the Eternal Rule within him, Herag could disregard this level of attack, fully immune.
