Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons-Chapter 652 - 574: Everyone Gets One
"How's it going? Is the design finished, everyone?"
Kane asked Kreya and the others inside a large room on the second-floor deck.
This place has been transformed into a large workshop, though it actually resembles more of a studio than a workshop.
Papers with drawings are scattered everywhere inside.
The papers show various small machines, some well-drawn, others looking like children's doodles.
Some don't even resemble children's doodles; one might think they were randomly scribbled with a paintbrush.
Kane was waiting here for Kreya and the others' creations.
Next to him lay four soul beads, each encased in a layer of intricate mechanical structures, all crafted by Kane during his spare time.
The magic runes on them aren't as abundant as the first one Kane created, so they didn't consume much of Kane's magic.
If Kane's first wisdom core possessed noteworthy intelligence akin to a child,
these four wisdom cores now were more like newborns, lacking intelligence, only having rigid mechanical information and basic mechanical wisdom.
To grant them intelligence, a unique personality, requires long-term nurturing.
What are Kreya and the others doing now? That's obvious.
Each of them wishes to have an intelligent assistant like Yoyo, a desire held for quite some time.
Now that Kane can create wisdom cores, even if he can't replicate 100% of Yoyo's functions, achieving seventy or eighty percent is still feasible.
This seventy or eighty percent is entirely sufficient for them, as their desired functionalities vary.
Kane is currently waiting for them to complete their preference designs, as their usage later must fit their desired aesthetics and functions.
The first to finish designing was Longbei.
"Check this out, mate, here's my design; tell me what you think."
Longbei handed his drawing to Kane as he spoke.
Kane received it, glanced at the drawing, and appeared somewhat surprised.
He then looked quizzically at Longbei, turned back to the drawing, and looked at Longbei again.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Nothing," Kane shook his head, "I just didn't expect you had this skill, really underestimated you."
The drawing by Longbei held in Kane's hands was delicate; its shape elegantly detailed.
Such a meticulous design sketch unexpectedly came from Longbei, who was seen as a rigid thinker.
Truly, he hides a little hobby discreetly.
Kane then pulled out a wisdom core and began comparing it to the shape and functions detailed in Longbei's design.
This was a moment highlighting Kane's advantage in designing whimsically with his origin skills due to occasional spur-of-the-moment ideas.
The functions Longbei required were mostly in Kane's expertise; even if they weren't, he had related skills that could be adapted slightly.
There was no need for Kane to redesign and reconsider the build due to absent technologies, saving the required time.
Now, the product would be ready in no time, fulfilling their expectations wonderfully.
After constructing it, while Kane was changing the colors of the construct's surface, he discovered an unmentioned alteration in his origin skills.
He could apply color now; though not practical in combat, it was a change Kane was very pleased with.
No longer did constructs appear in raw material colors, which were rather unappealing.
Eventually, a solid-looking cylindrical machine covered in copper color was constructed.
The intelligent assistant lacked facial expressions but had decorative designs resembling a helmet.
Stepping with the round wheel below it, it rolled to Longbei's side.
Besides its basic functions, it notably excelled in scanning and recognition, with impressive precision explosion methods and an adjustable fine drill bit on its body.
It really looked like a mining robot.
Judging by Longbei's expression, he was extremely satisfied.
"From now on, you'll be called Iron Hammer."
Upon hearing Longbei name it, Kane subtly turned his head.
Next was Lilulu.
Her machine was smaller than the others', made of transparent structure that allowed clear view of internal mechanical operations.
It traveled by flying, choosing the dragonfly's wing-beating as its flying method.
An intelligent assistant with transparent components, its exterior resembling a crystal, flying by wing-beating with dragonfly-like wings.
Lilulu sat atop the machine, happily laughing, while music played melodiously from the machine as it flew.
Lilulu's sole requirement was a large speaker with clear recording capabilities.
She wanted a portable background music player.
After Lilulu's was completed, it was Meizike's turn.
Meizike's was the easiest to create, resembling Yoyo's form, with minor exterior changes. The only difference was being larger and taller than Yoyo.
Inside its body lay various mechanical arms all over.
Meizike needed these mechanical arms to be stable and precise, along with effective scanning and distinguishing capabilities.
Likely, they were to aid him in potion making.
"What about yours, Kreya?" Kane asked curiously.
Kreya's face reddened a bit; she frustratingly turned her head and sat in front of Kane, saying, "Forget it, I'll explain verbally."
Kane subtly noticed the crumpled balls of discarded paper behind Kreya, some showing drawings even worse than children's doodles.
Without calling attention to them, he knowingly nodded, "No problem, tell me."
Didn't expect Kreya's drawing skills to be this poor.
Kreya's requirements are really low, just needing map functions and precise navigation abilities.
It looks exactly like Youyou, except for the different color scheme.
After making one for everyone, Kane said to them: "They are all like babies now. You must teach them well; they will learn based on your guidance and expressions, and their personalities will be more similar to yours."
"If you raise a naughty child in the future, don't blame me for not warning you."
Hearing Kane's words, everyone solemnly nodded.
It was like giving them a taste of parenting in advance.
The assistant robots that Kane created using these mechanical cores were mainly for observing various data on this technology.
Since they spend most of their time together, it's easier to notice their changes, providing more experimental data and experience for future technology.
Issues can be promptly fixed and changed accordingly.
After speaking, Longbei couldn't help but hug his "Iron Hammer."
"I'm going into the Guild Hall first!"
"Wait!" Kaian wasn't finished, but Longbei had already disappeared from the deck.
The robot he was holding fell onto the ship's deck, not following Longbei into the Guild Hall.
A few seconds later Longbei reappeared.
"What's going on? Why can't Iron Hammer enter the Guild Hall? Didn't Youyou just go into the Guild Hall before?"
Longbei asked.
"I wasn't finished speaking, why so impatient? Really."
Kane finally explained: "The robots you have now all have Wisdom Cores. How did the Wisdom Core come about? You saw it; it's the Soul Bead."
"Compared to Youyou, they are more like Cotton Candy."
Before, when Youyou followed Kane into the Guild Hall, it entered directly without being stamped with the Guild Seal.
Even though Cotton Candy does not have the option to join the Guild, even as Kane's pet, he still has the Guild Seal on him.
Only then can they enter the Guild.
Saying that, Kane took out the Guild Seal and stamped each robot with it.
"Alright, now you can take the robots into the Guild Hall."
As soon as Kane finished speaking, everyone except Kreya immediately hugged their robots and disappeared from the deck.
Longbei and Lilulu were definitely going in to show off.
The guild members have been envious of Youyou for quite some time.
Almost every member who knows Kane and knows about Youyou envies him; who wouldn't want such a convenient smart assistant?
Now that Lilulu and the others have it too, they naturally must go in to flaunt it in front of everyone and bask in the envy.
Meizike, without a doubt, must have rushed into his personal space to experiment with the smart assistant, to see if its help improves efficiency in potion making and research.
That's the one thing Meizike has always envied about Youyou; he admired how Youyou assisted Kane in various research projects.
"Why aren't you going in?" Kane asked as he looked at Kreya.
Kreya laid out a blanket beside Kane, then walked over and sat down on it.
Though Kane always thought Kreya lying completely flat on the ground looked more like lying than sitting.
Then Kreya held her robot in her arms and leaned against Kane.
"You can't go in, so of course I have to stay here with you."
Hearing Kreya's words, Kane smiled.
After all, the ship they were on was constructed by Kane's Origin Skills, so Kane certainly couldn't leave at will to enter the Guild Hall.
Otherwise, wouldn't the ship just disappear? So Kane had to stay on the ship throughout the journey.
The two just leaned against each other, feeling the sea breeze.
Meanwhile, Cotton Candy floated down from the sky, looking at the robot in Kreya's arms, which looked just like Youyou but with a different color scheme.
"Want to show him around?" Kreya asked Cotton Candy.
Cotton Candy nodded.
Kreya laughed and placed the robot on Cotton Candy: "I'll entrust Gungun to you."
Though Kane opened his mouth, he said nothing about the name Kreya gave the new robot.
Cotton Candy carried Gungun towards the captain's cabin, where Youyou was still steering the ship.
Just as Kane was enjoying a moment of privacy, he heard a commotion behind him.
Longbei and Lilulu hurried over.
"Kane, there's trouble!"
Hearing Longbei, the two immediately stood up and went over.
Looking at the anxious expressions of the two, they couldn't help asking: "What happened? What's the matter?"
Longbei hurriedly said: "Quick, turn back, return to the port where we were."
Though Kane didn't know what was going on, he immediately turned the ship around, and Youyou, feeling the change in direction, quickly cooperated with Kane.
The ship then increased its speed, rapidly returning along the original route.
Everyone on deck also felt the obvious bumpiness.
"Now hurry up and tell us what's going on."
"As gold-level Explorers, we can directly teleport from the Mist Council's station or the Explorer's House without sailing miserably for a month."
"Darn it!"
