Sky-cracking Rider-Chapter 396: Section 392 - Fallen from the Sky
The meeting room, capable of accommodating over a hundred people, contained only a large rectangular table surrounded by chairs. When everyone sat down, there were exactly no spare chairs, nor was any chair left unoccupied.
Accompanied by Liaison Officer Rossi to the capital of the Tunguska Region, Yarsk City was Nicole von Sasha, a Grade A Psychic Ability User. From the beginning until the end, she kept staring intently at Chen Fei, who, once seated, had simply sprawled across the table, resting his head on his arms and softly snoring.
Little Bird jumped directly onto Chen Fei’s head and began to nest there, as if incubating his somewhat fatigued brain.
Ultimately, Chen’s unease stemmed from his distrust of "Adam," the AI that was constantly startled by anything, incapable of handling sudden emergencies. While others could comfortably sleep inside the vehicle, Chen Fei had to sit upright at the driver’s seat, constantly monitoring the vehicle’s driving state.
"Adrian, about the Grafki Village case, do you have anything to say?"
Once seated, Liaison Officer Rossi immediately gave the team captain of Squad 04 a cold look and went straight to the point.
Adrian sighed internally, feeling helpless, and said, "Everything has already been detailed in the report, identical to what was forwarded to the Tunguska Police."
The moment he saw the blonde lady next to Rossi, he already knew very well why she was there.
The attack they had experienced in Grafki Village was clearly a well-planned operation. From another perspective, the Mobile Base Vehicle’s movements were completely known by the ambushers. This meant that there were likely moles around or even within Squad 04.
The role of liaison and assistance in interrogation by Tanya, a Grade C Psychic Ability User, wasn’t sufficient for this type of investigation, hence the deployment of a higher-ranked interrogation specialist, the blonde lady, Nicole von Sasha.
However, from the moment she arrived, she clashed with Chen Fei, who was full of malice, which truly caused headaches.
He wondered where the kid got such intense killer vibes, not knowing to restrain himself a bit?
"It’s been nearly a month, and you haven’t achieved anything here but still got ambushed. Look at the others, Squad 03 thwarted three ambushes and captured a prisoner, Squad 08 discovered vital clues and captured an important member of the Water Bear organization, and Squad 19 even destroyed a Water Bear breeding base."
As was unexpected by anyone in Squad 04, after simmering for a moment, Liaison Officer Rossi slammed the table and erupted.
"Tch, as if it’s easy! Look at this place; in a hundred kilometers around our station, there’s not even a shadow to chase. Who are we supposed to find? Who are we supposed to capture?" Susanna, a Grade B Ice Ability User, could no longer contain her frustration and retorted sharply.
The straightforward and imposing Apu blurted out, "Exactly, exactly! If you can do it, then you go. If not, then stop complaining!"
During the ambush, their lives had truly hung by a thread.
Lucky for him, he ran fast; otherwise, he would have been killed on the spot by a shot that didn’t discriminate between friend and foe. Only after experiencing a heavy cannon barrage did he truly understand the terrifying power of a railgun firing a 152-caliber shell.
"Jiu!"
Little Bird, disturbed by the arguing, lifted its head, tilted it, and then hopped off Chen Fei’s head, bouncing around on the conference table.
One moment he peeked at the coffee in the cup in front of Adrian, a first-rank Fire System Mage; the next moment, he trod on the mobile screen of Twin Blades Sister Mouri Misono; then he hopped beside the fruit plate, stretching his neck to stealthily peck at the fruits, drenching his beak with juice, acting as if no one else was present, treating the conference table as his own playground.
What meeting, what "Water Bear" organization, what Global United Defense Committee? What does he care about those?
Seemingly provoked by Apu and Susanna, Liaison Officer Rossi slammed the table and roared, "Have you gotten too comfortable? Look at what you’ve done in Siberia! Such a big place, go out, search, interrogate, but what now, who have you caught? Do I still need to teach you how to handle things?"
It had to be said, the guy’s words were indeed poisonous, rendering Adrian and others pale-faced, yet unable to rebut.
After all, the task was too vague; if Team 04 took too much initiative, they might offend the local snakes, the Tunguska Police Department. If any disputes arose, Rossi would kick back without hesitation; definitely not taking the blame for that.
Not sure if she was formally participating or merely observing, Tanya Ilyin Alexandrovna of the Tunguska Police turned pale—this uncle was terrifying!
Rossi, being the liaison officer, naturally ranked above Team 04. Adrian quickly signaled Apu and Susanna with his eyes, asking them not to speak out of turn.

The B-rank Ice Ability User directly rolled his eyes, kept quiet, and gave Adrian that much face.
"Damn it, as if I…"
Honest boy Apu couldn’t catch the hint. His eyes as big as copper bells were about to glare angrily, but Joshua, quick with his reflexes, promptly covered his mouth.
The others looked relieved, narrowly avoiding adding fuel to the fire.
They sat waiting for Rossi to finish spewing his saliva, hoping this episode would pass.
Advance a step, and you’re trapped; retreat, and the sky’s the limit; endure a moment, and the stars appear. Everyone could see, as much as they hated Rossi’s foul temper, at least he didn’t withhold Team 04’s supplies or information support, nor did he have a habit of dredging up old issues, otherwise there’d be no end to it.
"What the hell? Apu, you got a problem?"
Rossi’s eyes narrowed, glaring furiously at the Thunder Series Warrior.
"I... hiss, no, nothing!"
Two hands, one on each side, forcefully grabbed Apu’s sides, suppressing the nonsense he was about to blurt out.
"You should learn to take the initiative, not sit all day inside the Mobile Base Vehicle. Intelligence isn’t going to fall from the sky; will the enemy’s list just appear before you?"
Xiao Jiu hopped past Liaison Officer Rossi, who roared and pounded the table, pecked at the leg ring, and then skipped away, but a stack of documents had appeared where it left, just in time to be hit by Rossi’s nosediving fist, emitting a dull thud.
Liaison Officer Rossi wouldn’t take it out on a Pure Light Sparrow and chose to ignore it, looking down at the stack of documents that somehow appeared before him, muttering, "What the heck? Eh!"
Each document was full of personal information, name, date of birth, gender, Social Welfare Number, educational background, position, authority level, plus a photo.

Was it me getting too excited and letting them leak from the Space System Alchemy Storage Device?
But I have no recollection of these documents at all!
Someone with sharp eyes spotted a page on top that looked like a resume.
Everyone, puzzled, turned to look at Rossi, not knowing what the Liaison Officer was up to this time.
"..."
The conference room fell into a deathly silence.
"Huh?"
Mao Mei from Tunguska cocked her head, puzzled by the atmosphere. Was there some new development?
"Ahem!"
Rossi feigned calmness and cleared his throat, pushing the stack of mysteriously appearing documents to the blonde lady, Nicole, beside him and whispered, "Nicole, help me check these people’s information, now, immediately, right away!"
"Yes!"
Nicole von Sasha, a Level A Psychic Ability User, took out her phone and launched the Social Citizen Information Identification Module.
As long as they were registered citizens of Blue Star, no matter their sovereignty, they could obtain the most detailed information immediately, including personal capabilities and criminal records, even Cangqiong Star citizens with entry records could have their files accessed.
After flipping through just three or four pages, the blonde lady suddenly exclaimed.
"This person, this person is a member of the ’Water Bear’ organization, who was just killed in an operation by Team 19 recently."
The identity of one of the persons was recognized, making this stack of documents suddenly very important.
To err is to kill, not to overlook...
Hearing her words, Team 04 exchanged glances. What exactly were Liaison Officer Rossi and that Level A Psychic Ability User playing at? Was the meeting to continue, or had it clearly veered off course?
After flipping through a few more pages, the identification results came almost instantly, identifying another "Water Bear" organization member because his true identity was confirmed due to being killed.
"Rossi, Rossi!"
Nicole von Sasha took a deep breath, her expression serious, and said, "These personal details, they might really be..."
"’Water Bear’!"
Rossi obviously had already guessed the answer.
He had only speculated before, but now had confirmed some of it from the blonde lady, even though not all had been verified, the suspicion on others greatly increased.
Liaison Officer Rossi would never believe that the "Water Bear" organization member’s documents had just appeared in the storage space of his Space System Alchemy Storage Device without his knowledge, and certainly not that he had released them.
So... it must be that bird!
He stared intently at the lively Little Bird bouncing around, those leg rings looked damn suspicious.
Rossi took a deep breath and said, "This list, why didn’t you bring it out earlier?"
"Huh?"×12!
The entire Team 04 was baffled.
What list, how to bring it out? Mr. Liaison Officer, are you out of your mind?
Hey, the psychologist next to you, stop zoning out, hurry up and check on Liaison Officer Rossi!
"What are these expressions on your faces?"
Rossi, puzzled by the weird expressions of the crowd, furrowed his brows.
Adrian, feeling utterly devastated inside, tentatively said, "Mr. Rossi, didn’t you pull out these documents yourself?"
This crazy Liaison Officer, is he ever going to stop?!
At least in everyone’s eyes, the stack of documents had appeared under Rossi’s hands.
They all thought this guy was actually going to teach Team 04 how to work!
"Not me! I didn’t! Stop talking nonsense!"
