Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 194—Last Stage
Holy Sage Thalmyr landed near Giliberu anxiously.
The goblin's body was trembling, his back bent like an old man. His hair had turned gray.
His toe trembled under his weight as his body swayed.
"What's going on? Why is nature so strict?" the Holy Sage couldn't understand.
"Holy Sage Arts: Great Divine Vision." The sage's eyes glowed with golden light as Slime#47's hundred+ loops flashed in his eyes.
"No wonder," he sighed, as his eyes turned normal. "The world tests the chosen ones more harshly than normal people."
He pivoted and walked away, tapping his wooden stick.
He frowned. "Young Slime, I hope you succeed in your goals…"
He then raised his head and said with a light grin, "Veronica, your wish has been fulfilled. Your son was extraordinary from his very birth."
A few hours later—
Giliberu's skin and flesh peeled away, causing his bones to be visible.
Just when his body lost power and was close to touching the ground, a golden light emitted from Giliberu's chest.
The energy flowed through his entire body like veins and stabilized his body. However, the energy didn't help in regenerating the body.
His body had lost skin, muscles, and what remained was just bones and inner organs.
His faith forcefully sustained him as the plant vine continued draining his lifespan.
Time ticked, as the tree grew a thousand meters high.
The tree vines around Giliberu's body were released as the sun turned hotter and brighter.
Goblin's body finally had time to breathe.
Fire fell on Giliberu's body. The tree dried up.
The seasons no longer followed order—flame, blizzard, lightning, and life-draining grew with each day.
Yet Giliberu held on.
[ Ding! The Fourth strike of Carnal Impulse has begun! ]
The beautiful young woman appeared yet again.
This time, she was clad in a corset, which showed off too much skin.
Even her small actions were very seductive.
Her eyes widened as her mouth hung open. "Is this the same goblin? How did he turn into a skeleton?"
Giliberu's internal organs had decomposed due to exposure to the atmosphere, and golden energy didn't even protect them. All it did was maintain life.
Now Giliberu was just a skeleton—a living skeleton.
The pink aura couldn't even erupt from Giliberu's body as golden energy kept flowing through the goblin's skeleton like blood vessels.
The moment pink aura touched golden energy, it melted away like ice.
"Is this even possible?" she exclaimed, holding her forehead. "His faith is insane… it would normally take a thousand or so years to achieve this…."
"Just how much did nature try to break him?" she bit her long pink nails.
She glanced around, and noticing large bushes, towering trees.
A thousand-meter tree stood behind the goblin and sheltered him while draining his life force, which was generated by faith.
She took just a step forward to glance closely—whoosh! A golden shockwave spread out from Giliberu's body, which flung her into the air.
Thud!
She balanced herself in the air and landed on her feet a few meters away.
"I have to at least stay twenty meters away from him," she muttered and sat on the grassy ground.
"He might really clear all strikes at his rate," she uttered, and glared at meditating Giliberu.
Time ticked by as Carnal Impulse couldn't erupt from the goblin's body.
She stood up and yelled, "Mother, isn't it time for you to show up? Or… is it dad, this time? Whatever, his faith is enough, isn't it?"
No one answered, as the birds' sounds echoed through the area.
She clicked her tongue. "So playing hard…"
She disappeared in the next moment as a notification flashed in the empty eye sockets of Giliberu.
[ Ding! You withstood the Carnal Impulse's fourth strike! ]
[ Ding! You have overcome Carnal Impulse 4/6!
Next strike approximate time: 30-40 years!
Note: It will stay dormant for some time to accumulate energy; be cautious of the next strike! ]
Goblin didn't even sense the Carnal Impulse strike, much less the notification.
Time ticked by as the seasons repeated.
"The last stage of penance… sacrifice," Holy Sage Thalmyr's words echoed in Giliberu's mind. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"In this stage, give up what you feel that's extraordinary to you… After all, sages have already given up the material world, so it's easy to sacrifice what they like." Holy Sage explained.
Giliberu focused his senses back on his body. Due to his faith, he didn't feel any different.
He said calmly, "I, Giliberu, hereby give up my demonic force, mana, and aura in the name of Creation Goddess."
His voice was raspy and alien. He had lost his vocal cords; he could even emit sounds due to the power of faith.
A jolt of golden energy spread out from his body to a few hundred meters.
[ Ding! Your faith has wiped out all your strength! ]
[ Ding! Your level is decreased to Level 1! ]
The world felt lighter. He did not, as his faith kept growing.
[ Ding! Faith has overtaken the functions of mana and aura to replace life force! ]
Giliberu had returned to chanting just after sacrificing; he didn't notice notifications.
The flames, blizzard, lightning, and life force drain cycle continued.
[ Ding! You withstood the Carnal Impulse's fifth strike! ]
[ Ding! You have overcome Carnal Impulse 5/6!
Next strike approximate time: 50-100 years!
Note: It will stay dormant for some time to accumulate energy; be cautious of the next strike! ]
Unknowingly, Giliberu had withstood Carnal Impulse for the fifth time.
"Sometimes gods don't show up, even the benevolent ones." Holy Sage Thalmyr's words were recalled by Giliberu. "Because they are testing… they always like to check to what extent their followers like them."
The demonic force was gone. No mana stirred within him. No aura flowed. Only golden light remained. Yet the Creation goddess didn't descend.
Giliberu opened his jaw and said in a raspy, alien voice, "I, Giliberu, sacrifice both my arms to Creation Goddess."
Boom!
The ground suddenly shook.
[ Ding! Your hands are severed by your faith. No regeneration works on them!
Caution: Your faith will decrease if someone recreates your arms! ]
Giliberu, like usual, didn't notice the notification as he kept chanting the mantra internally.
He now stood on his right big toe bone, and his hands had disappeared.
Now he stood as a skeleton, arms severed from his shoulders.
Boom!
In a certain cave.
"What's going on?" brown bear muttered, tilting his head.
"Fireball," he cast, the fire magic rune flared on his palm.
In the next moment, the rune collapsed.
In the Zethia—
Crimson Dragon woke up as Princess of Zethia rushed in anxiously.
She yelled, "Dear, my spells are not working."
Dragon glared at her from the hoard of gold coins, diamonds, and a pile of luxurious items.
The Princess of Zethia still looked as if she were in her twenties when the Goblin Lord had kidnapped her.
Dragon transformed into his young human male form and walked out calmly.
He glanced at the sky from his courtyard.
The magic barrier he'd cast decades ago had vanished.
"Incredible…."
Crimson Dragon's eyes were wide, and his mouth hung open.
"Dear, is something wrong?" Princess asked. She frowned. 'I'd never seen Lord like this.'
Dragon muttered, clenching his fists, "A new Holy Sage… Someone's close to becoming a new Holy Sage."
"Is that a problem, my lord?" Princess questioned, raising her brows.
"Yes…" Dragon nodded, his eyes were still wide open. "Now quickly order your citizens to run… we are leaving."
"What? Why?" Princess inquired, her voice high and cracked.
In a certain forest—
Under a large green tree, which had many white-green fruits, a beautiful middle-aged woman was meditating.
She was clad in plain and worn green robes; she snapped open her green eyes as she sensed a change in atmosphere.
She had long white hair reaching her back. Her ears were pointed and sharp.
Her temperament was calm and energetic like a forest.
She exclaimed, "A new Holy Sage? How can this be? At a time? The seven Holy Sages are already full."
"What are gods doing?" She scowled and stood up.
With a flash of golden light, she disappeared.
In many places, the same event took place.
People noticed their spells stopped working.
Priests in churches noticed their divine power was trembling.
Many beings noticed their mana in the atmosphere was no longer obeying their command.
The fights turned disadvantageous for people who had solely depended on mana. Mages in the midst of battle had fallen.
In a certain place, a golden dragon, who had one eye scarred, opened his eyes and grinned, "How interesting… a new Holy Sage? Can he achieve that position?"
Many powerful beings took note of Giliberu and remained silent.
Holy Sage Thalmyr appeared in front of Giliberu, a skeleton who had no arms, yet stood unwavering on his right big toe bone.
The sky trembled as pressure around Skeleton had increased, as golden energy overflowed from his bones.
Whoosh!
Six more beings flashed near Holy Sage Thalmyr.
The middle-aged, beautiful elf woman's voice turned into a whisper, "The order of seven has not broken… then what is he becoming?"
