Minato set the elf down gently on a chair near the wall. The elf didn’t say anything this time, only watching the two of them closely.

He turned toward Amelia, who was sitting with her hands resting on her knees, her eyes fixed on the floor. "Hey..." he said softly, walking a bit closer. "You okay?"

Amelia didn’t answer right away. She exhaled through her nose and said quietly, "I’m fine."

A part of Minato wanted to question her more, to see what she was really thinking, but he decided to let it go. Everyone needed time alone sometimes, and he could tell she wasn’t in the mood for any more questions.

She stood up, brushing her hair back, and walked into the bathroom. The sound of the running water followed soon after as she started showering.

Minato turned his attention back to the elf girl. He pulled another chair across the wooden floor and placed it directly in front of her. The legs of the chair scraped against the wooden floor, breaking the silence in the room. He sat down, leaning slightly forward, elbows on his knees.

"Listen," he said in a thick tone, his eyes locked on her. "I’m going to ask you a series of questions, and you’d better answer them quickly and truthfully."

The elf girl stayed quiet, her expression unreadable. Her wrists were still bound by a little red glow from Minato’s blood control. She just kept staring at him...

"I’ll take that as a yes," Minato muttered, holding back himself.

He continued, with a steady voice. "First question... what’s your name?"

It wasn’t that Minato couldn’t check her information through the system. He could. But he wanted to see if what she said matched what the system had recorded, and to also check how truthful her words were...

She stayed silent again, still refusing to speak up. Her eyes narrowed slightly, as if testing how far he would go.

Minato’s patience dropped completely. He raised his hand, and the skin around his fingers thickened with the effects of blood control. In an instant, a blood tendril extended from his palm, wrapping tightly around her neck.

The elf gasped for air, her eyes widened as her body became tensed from the sudden pressure. Minato held her there for several seconds... just long enough to make sure she understood he wasn’t bluffing... then released her.

She coughed a few times, clutching her throat, glaring at him.

Minato leaned back slightly, his eyes cold. "I’ll ask again," he said. "What is your name?"

A small trail of blood ran from the corner of her mouth. Minato waited, his eyes fixed on her, giving her time to recover but not to think of another excuse.

After a few seconds, she finally spoke, her voice shaky but loud. "... Radelia... Radelia Oriric."

Minato narrowed his eyes slightly. "Radelia, huh?"

He called up the system panel with a thought, and red highlighted text appeared in front of him...

He closed the display with a wave of his hand and looked back at her. "So you told the truth. That’s a good start."

Radelia looked away, refusing to make eye contact. Her breathing was still uneven, due to her unattended injuries.

"Next question," Minato continued. "Why did you open the portal? You were going to let your entire army invade this world, weren’t you?"

"All for what?" Minato asked, his voice sounding calm in the moment, but he was pissed, his eyes fixed on her.

Radelia lifted her head slowly, her expression was unreadable. "Does a hunter need a reason to hunt?" she replied. "And besides, someone in this realm tapped into the power of the Realm Tree and alerted us. That someone, I’m guessing, is you."

Minato stared at her in silence for a few seconds. The little sound of the hotel’s wall clock was the only noise in the room. "Radelia," he said finally, his tone became quite low. "You’re lying again. I’ll let this slide once. So tell the truth... before I do something you won’t like. Hell, I know I’ll like it, but you won’t."

Radelia’s lips tightened briefly. Her shoulders trembled slightly as she held back her frustration and anger. "You humans took everything from us," she said, her voice shaking but clear. "This realm used to belong to us. We’re just taking it back."

Minato’s expression didn’t change a bit. His eyes stayed locked on hers. "You nearly destroyed thousands of lives because of that excuse."

Radelia snapped her head up, glaring at him. "You think you’re any better? You think you’re some kind of savior? You’re a monster too... just hiding it behind that human skin."

Minato didn’t react. He leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, his face only a few inches away from hers. "Maybe," he said quietly. "But right now, I’m the one keeping you alive."

Then Amelia came out of the bathroom, her damp and wet hair hanging loosely over her shoulders, small drops of water running down her neck. She wore one of the white hotel robes, the fabric tied tightly around her waist, showcasing her curves.

She stopped near the doorway when she saw the scene in front of her... Minato sitting across from the elf girl, Radelia, who was tied to a chair with thick, solidified blood restraints around her wrists and ankles. The atmosphere in the room was quiet and heavy.

Amelia didn’t say anything at first. She just stood there, watching both of them.

"Are you done?" Minato asked, turning his head slightly toward her.

"Hm." Amelia gave a small nod while drying her hair with the towel.

Seeing that, Minato decided to stop the questioning for now. "Radelia, we’re done for today," he said, his tone a bit flat. He pushed his chair back slightly and started to stand up...

Then the system notification appeared suddenly before his eyes.
