Solo Cultivation in The Apocalypse-Chapter 304 Need You
Hitori exhaled. He let all of the tension off his chest with that scream. He was sure Tengoku had heard it too, but what difference would that make? He would know that Hitori is planning something, but of course, he is. Who is not?
He turned and ran to Kakashi's body in the middle of the hall. He grabbed his hands, then threw Kyo a glance who was staring at him with wide eyes. "Help me, will you?"
Kyo snapped out of it and rushed to grab Kakashi's legs. "What are you? Out of your mind? You told Tengoku that you are brewing something."
"My room should be safe, we will take him there," Hitori said. He threw his room a glance.
The upper part of the door was filled with holes while the bottom had only one or two. He kicked the door and took Kakashi inside.
Hitori heard something banging above his head– like someone's footsteps– someone running on the first floor. Then the sound shifted to the side.
Kyoryu let go of Kakashi's legs, then drew his wand. Hitori figured Kyo's next move, so he dropped Kakashi and went out of the room. Kyoryu levitated Kakashi to the bed before leaving the room.
Hitori glanced around the hall, he did not see Reon anywhere, but he saw Tengoku at the door, glaring at Hitori.
Then suddenly he felt something hit his chest. He lowered his gaze and saw Reon's purple hair. She pulled herself away from Hitori and glanced up at him.
"Hitori…" she said, "w-what happened?"
He noticed she was panting. She did run down the stairs. Hitori smiled at her, then glanced at Tengoku.
He started moving towards Tengoku in the doorway. "Hitori?" she called, but he continued.
Tengoku raised his katana and struck the defense shield. Hitori stared at him for a second, then raised his head.
Tengoku stepped back and raised his katana. Hitori saw that much, then he raised the door from the ground and stamped it in Tengoku's face.
The holes were not big enough to see unless you stick your eyes to them which Tengoku could not. So after covering the door frame, Hitori turned to Reon. 𝘧𝗿ee𝚠𝙚𝙗𝑛o𝚟𝐞l.𝐜૦𝗺
She was holding her black .45 caliber gun in one hand and the other was clenched tight. They shared a glance, then Hitori started walking toward her, but in the middle, he changed his path and turned to the dining room.
Reon was confused, but she could not commit the mistake of asking Hitori for his plan. Although the door had covered their actions for Tengoku, he could still hear them.
Hitori held his breath, he needed that for his next move. When he entered the dining hall, he stopped and extended his hand.
He heard her gasp. Yes, he knew that feeling. He imagined her thinking: 'He is asking me to hold hands? During all this? Is he insane?' and got embarrassed.
He had second thoughts now and wondered if calling her had worked better. He decided to lower his hand, throw her a glance, and rush to the kitchen.
He pulled back strength from his arm. Instead of pulling it down, he wanted it to fall by his side. He closed his eyes after a moment. His heart started picking pace.
He wanted himself to stay calm and fuck this feeling, but he could not. He changed his decision, instead of throwing her a glance, he decided to directly run out of the kitchen. She would follow him.
His hand was an inch away from his thigh when, suddenly, a tender touch embraced his hand. His eyes sprang open as they would if he feels an electric jolt.
Hitori looked to his right, Reon was still a foot away from him, but her hand had reached him. She had pressed her lips together, trying to stop a grin from taking over.
Hitori could see that. "What are you waiting for?" she said, "where are we going?"
He turned his eyes at the kitchen, then grabbed her hand. "Out," he said, then pulled her to the kitchen.
Kyoryu caught Hitori's last glance when he dashed out of the kitchen's backdoor. He ignored him and went to help Akira. They had to keep Tengoku away somehow.
Hitori took Reon out of the kitchen. He stopped around the corner and made Reon lean against the wall. Expectedly, the backside of the house was fine.
"Looks like you are getting over your phobia somehow," Reon muttered.
Hitori chuckled. "Sure," he said. He stuck his head out and took a glance at the scene outside.
He could see the storm pouring down water and strong winds blowing away a few men. Reon followed his gaze and asked, "W-What are those clouds?"
She had to slide back when Hitori came back. "Nothing. Just a spell."
"Just a spell? Everything is under it, what if a storm breaks out or lightening—"
"It is fine, Reon, believe me," Hitori said. He stepped forward and looked at the sky. The clouds spanned for meters, and the house was not under its radius.
"So what is the plan? Eya-nee is alone upstairs."
"No one is going upstairs." Hitori came back and then looked at Reon. "We are going to end it."
Her eyes widened, but then she lowered them. "Of course, we are. What was I expecting when you called me."
Hitori noticed her eyes. "Were you thinking that I was wounded or something?"
She nodded. "You do not call for help much, you know."
"So you thought I am a selfish man who would call for help only when he is wounded?"
She shook her head. "Shut up! I did not mean it that way."
"Is your gun loaded?"
"Huh?" The Gun was totally off the topic.
"How many bullets do you have?"
Reon lifted the gun and pressed the switch that dropped the magazine. "Eight," she said, "and one more magazine." She waited for Hitori's reply.
"They are enough. We have only one target, after all."
"An assassination?"
"Yeah. Only Tengoku," Hitori said, "and… we have to get back safely. No one dies, you undertsand?"
Reon nodded not a convincing nod. "I do not want to die, but if I do die, find a way to resurrect me."
Hitori chuckled. "Resurrection does not exist, Reon." Then his tone turned serious. "And you are not dying."
"Well, IF I did… at least I will have my time with Kamiya in hell."
Hitori squeezed her hand, ignoring the pain in his heart. "Kamiya won't be happy if you meet him without avenging him."
Reon sobbed. "Oh, then even I am not leaving the world without Onogi. Let's do this."
