Solo Cultivation in The Apocalypse-Chapter 356 Knees
You said, hey what are you doing for the rest of your life. I do not even know what I am going to do tonight. Mind.
For weeks, Hitori thought about Kamiya, then he thought about his abusive father, his innocent and simple mother; his sister, Akemi. He could not imagine if he could have even had the strength to pull through life like that.
Kamiya had the strength. Although he was weak, getting beaten by Kuzu, and not good at studies or magic, he had this hidden potential. When Onogi fucked his life, that potential started coming out.
He distanced himself from his father, took his sister to a safe place, and started earning with his average skills – yet Gigi took his money. He never killed himself. He had the strength to continue striving.
But now the sun goes down and the stars come out. I am glad you came. But he died. Onogi murdered him, someone, who had the strength to live.
So Hitori knew now if he did not give Onogi the death he deserves, everything will be wasted. Nothing will be worth it.
"You know you do not want any of it."
"No. I know it is easier to stay than to let go."
"Sometimes it is just the opposite, Hitori-san."
Hitori nodded and walked up to the stairs and stopped. They were shed to pieces, hanging somehow.
"No one is here. We should leave," Kakashi said, clanging around and studying the surrounding.
"What if he is hiding there? His plan is to make us think no one is present, then ambush us on the way back when we are relaxed?" Hitori asked.
"Can we leave without a trace?"
"What if he sets FBI on us? That is another way of getting to us."
"That bastard does not have the brains for that. And he is too prideful to let someone else do his work."
"He must have planted a trap. Does anyone agrees on that?"
"We do, Hitori-san." Eya sounded annoyed, so Hitori decided to change the topic.
To what? To Kyo. "Where is Kyo-san? I thought he would come."
Kakashi scoffed, "Yeah, of course, he wants the scientists to see that humungous, flying lizard."
Right. Hitori felt embarassed, but Eya handled it for him. "That is a reason. The another reason is he stopped to talk with Onogi's father, Kamino." Eya glanced at her wrist, a magic watch appeared and then vanished. She lifted her head. "He might contact us any second now. Hopefully, with some useful information."
They decided to wait near the staircase till Kyo called. But Hitori kept wandering around the corners of the plaza to look for something, anything that could be useful. He went to the other side of the hall, yet found nothing.
Just when he was about to turn around, he caught something blinking under the staircase. It was red in color and blinking like spotlights. He frowned and took heavy steps near the staircase.
A few broken wooden pieces were covering the blinking ligghts. From afar, they looked like some animal's eyes, but as Hitori got closer, the darting blinks were pixilated, nothing like a beast's eyes.
He stopped a meter or two away from the device blinking under the staircase. He shook his head and blinked his eyes, but no. Does not matter how he looked at it, he declared the blinking lights as the lights of—
"Hitori-san!" Eya shouted, "Come here. Quick!"
Hitori raised his eyes, glanced once at the device, then ran off to Eya. Reon was standing right behind her and Kakashi was on the other side. She was holding her wand against her lips.
"Kyo-san?"
At first, the voice came a little dissorted, then it cleared up. "Get out. Get out of the house right now." He paused. Everyone was confused, they exchanged glances.
"What did he say?" Eya asked, trying to stay as calm as possible. f𝒓𝑒e𝙬𝒆𝚋𝘯૦𝘷𝐞𝑙.c𝑜𝐦
"When I asked him where Onogi is, he said he does not know. Onogi left the house and has not returned yet."
Hitori looked at Kakashi. "No one is here. Onogi is missing. Damn!"
"Then? What did you say?"
"I asked him we are at his house. He panicked. He told me to leave the house immediately and call him if they are safe. You need to get the hell out of the house."
Eya lowered her wand and glanced at everyone. For some reaosn, they were still debating whether to leave, with their eyes. No one moved and no one passed out a decision.
Then Hitori's mind shifted back to the blinking lights under the staircase. His eyes widened and he tired hard not to panic. He spun and raced back to the staircase, then leaned voer the spot.
The ligths blinked at him, threatening to blow right away. Everynoe turned to him and now were staring at him staring under the staircase.
"What are you doing?" Kakashi asked as he walked to him, gesturing for the ladies to stay behind.
Hitori hesitantly raised his scares face, that shocked look makde Kakashi stop in his tracks. They looked into each others' eyes, and Hitori delivered the information just through a blank stare.
"Leave," Kakashi said in a low voice. "Leave!" he shotued as he spun to the ladies. Then back to Hitori. "You, too, leave right now! Run for you fuc—"
First a fuse, then an explosion. Hitori ducked and covered his head. Then he rose and looked behind him. The floor at the end of the hall had bursted open, fire and wooden debris flying over their heads.
Kakashi grabbed Hitori's arm, then pulled him. "Get the fuck out of here. I will try to—"
Another explosion went off. "I will hold the explosions. Run now."
Hitori ran acorss the hall, without realizing what Kakashi was doing, but when he realized, it was too late.
Reon and Eya were waiting for him with their mouths tight shut in fear and eyes tiny. "Dynamites," Hitori said. "Full speed—" Kakashi was left behind.
He paused and spun around. Eya and Reon stopped, too. Kakashi frowned. "I told you to run. It would be my possibility if shit went wrong, now go."
Another dynamite went off, Kakashi raised his hands and covered the fire from reaching anyone. Standing close to the staircase, Kakashi turned, then in anger, he shouted:
"Get the fuck out of here, Hitori, Eya, and Reon!"
They lost the control over their legs. They spun and rushed out of the hall. Hitori glanced over his shoulder, hopinh Kakashi will come. And he turned.
Then the dynamite under the staircase exploded, blurring everything with smoke and fire.
