Solo Farming In The Tower-Chapter 4Vol 2. : Welcome to the Kindergarten of Destruction! ()
Yongyong Market.
“Welcome! This is Yongyong Market!”
Ace shouted loudly at the great dragons who had come to visit the Yongyong Market.
His sister wasn’t there, but he was determined to boost the market’s sales all by himself.
Puhihihi. If I make a lot of money, brother-in-law will be happy, right?
Thinking of how happy Sejun would be later, Ace’s mood lifted.
But then—
“Ace, why is Aileen nowhere to be seen? Why are you here alone?”
“Well... my sister... puhiiiiiing.”
At just one question, the tears burst forth.
A little while later...
“My sister abandoned me and went to Earth with brother-in-law!”
Ace, having stopped crying, tattled on Aileen’s betrayal to the great dragons who had come as customers.
And—
“Really?! Aileen went to Earth with Sejun?”
If Aileen went, couldn’t we go to Earth too?
Hearing Ace’s words, the great dragons rushed off to find Kaiser in hopes of following Sejun to Earth.
“You dare?!”
If I can’t go, then no one can!
Now the administrator of the Black Tower, Kaiser refused to let anyone go to Earth.
However—
“Hmph! You think we’ll give up just like that?!”
“Yeah! Let’s dig another path!”
“Should we make a portal?”
“No, we need to use the Tower’s system. It’s safer.”
The other eight Tower masters didn’t give up and began brainstorming alternate ways to reach Earth.
***
[Kindergarten of Destruction]
Around 6 PM, they hurried to feed the children dinner.
“Kids, time to sleep now.”
Sejun began preparing them for bed so they could start the party afterward.
But—
“No! Wanna play more with Mr. Sejun!”
“Mingming too, with Mr. Sejun!”
“Shongshongi too!”
The kids, full from dinner and bursting with energy, obviously had no intention of sleeping.
“Haaah! Go to sleep already, nya!”
“Theo, come here.”
“Puhuhut. Understood, nya!”
Theo was about to knock the kids out by smacking the backs of their heads, but when Sejun called his name and patted his knee, Theo immediately clung to it without a word.
Then—
“Bat-Bat, could you sing a lullaby?”
(Bat-Bat! Yes!)
Sejun asked Bat-Bat for a lullaby.
A moment later—
(Bat-Bat. The baby is sleeping~)
To the tune of Bat-Bat’s lullaby, the children fell soundly asleep one by one. Even Taecho had nestled in among them and dozed off.
Thank goodness Bat-Bat is here.
Bat-Bat’s the best!
Sejun gave a thumbs up to Bat-Bat and quickly went up to the rooftop to prepare the party with the others.
For reference, Aileen had been sent to Sejun’s parents’ house ahead of time for the party preparations.
As they arranged the food, the sun set and the surroundings began to darken.
“Wow. The atmosphere’s great.”
Sejun smiled as he turned on the lights. While there were no stars like in the Black Tower, the city lights—unseen from the Towers—created a dreamlike and refined mood.
Once the party setup was finished—
“Guys, I’m going to bring Aileen.”
“Puhuhut. I’ll come too, nya!”
“Kkyut-kkyut-kkyut. Me too!”
Sejun took only Theo and Iona, who wouldn’t let go of his knees, and headed to his parents’ house.
Once Sejun was gone—
Heheh. Gotta sneak a bite while the butler’s gone!
Kkamang quietly crept toward the plate with the ultra-delicious roasted sweet potato jerky and reached out his paw—
Queng! Queng!
[No, da yo! We wait until Daddy gets back, da yo!]
Ngh...
Caught by Queng, he had to give up.
As they stepped out of the kindergarten and approached the house entrance—
“Unnie, you’re so pretty! Ever thought of becoming a celebrity?”
“Nope. Celebrities have to smile at everyone. I only want to smile in front of my Sejun.”
“That’s a shame. The world needs to see your beauty...”
“Hohoho.”
“Hahaha.”
Inside the house, laughter ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) filled the air as Aileen chatted with Sera—Kim Dong-sik’s daughter and Sedol’s girlfriend—and Sejun’s parents.
But then—
“I’m here.”
“Puhuhut. I’m here too, nya!”
“Hoho...”
“Haha...”
The moment Sejun entered, the laughter died down and the mood darkened. A wary glint appeared in his parents’ eyes.
His father looked at him like he was some bastard son-in-law coming to pick up their daughter. His mother was no different.
Wait. I’m your son. Aileen’s from another family!
Something’s seriously off.
As Sejun made a face of injustice—
Hyung, I get it.
His younger brother Sedol gave him a sympathetic look. He seemed to have suffered the same fate often.
“Aileen, let’s go.”
“Okay! Goodbye, Mother, Father.”
“Yes. Come by anytime if you’re bored.”
“You could’ve stayed the night...”
Leaving behind his reluctant parents, Sejun took Aileen to the kindergarten rooftop.
Upon arriving—
[Yap!]
Just as they’d planned, Flamy lit the candles on the massive chocolate cake Sejun had made.
(Though we may never meet again~ we can still feel each other~)
Bat-Bat began singing a song Sejun had written for Aileen.
The title was Destiny. According to the Composer title, singing it to someone you love would faintly strengthen the connection between your destinies.
Once Bat-Bat’s part was over—
“One day we’ll meet again~ because we’re destined to~”
Sejun sang the next verse.
(Through time~ across dimensions~)
“Though everything may change, our love never will~”
“Nya?”
“Kkyut?”
[Uh...]
Queng?
Kihihit.
Bat-Bat and Sejun alternated verses, but each time Sejun sang, the immersion shattered.
And then—
“Who is it?! Who’s singing?!”
“If you’re going to sing, be good at it!”
“Yeah! Why’d a tone-deaf guy ruin the whole thing?!”
The neighbors began yelling at Sejun’s singing.
But—
Sejun sang... for me...
So dreamy!
Aileen’s dazed eyes were brimming with emotion. Apparently, love really was blind.
“Kkyut-kkyut-kkyut. O power of magic...”
Iona quietly cast a spell around the kindergarten to contain the sound. It was for the sake of world peace.
(Someday I’ll stand before you and say these words~)
The song reached its climax.
“I’ve waited so long for this moment~ kehk-kehk! You are my destiny. I lo... kehk! ...ve you~”
Dammit! Shouldn’t have gotten greedy...
Failing to hit the final high note, Sejun finished the song with a cracked voice and a wheezy cough.
Then—
“Ahem. Aileen, happy birthday. Here’s your present.”
Click.
With an awkward expression, he pulled a small box from his pocket and opened it for her.
[Earrings of Brilliant Darkness]
They were gorgeous earrings shaped like teardrops, set with a black gem rimmed in star-like stones. Sejun had personally requested this item from the God of Creation during his visit to the temple.
“Thank you, Sejun.”
When Aileen put the earrings on—
Whoosh.
Black and golden light swirled around her and faded away.
“Huh?”
Sway—
Suddenly, Aileen felt her strength drain from her body, and she staggered.
“Aileen, are you okay?”
Sejun held Aileen by the shoulders as she swayed.
Normally, Sejun would have collapsed from simply grabbing Aileen's shoulders.
Heheheh. Thank you, Creator God.
Thanks to the [Earrings of Brilliant Darkness] gifted by the Creator God, he was fine.
The earrings' effect: they absorb the wearer’s power at full strength and store it.
In other words, while the power was being stored, Aileen’s strength was greatly diminished.
“Sejun! I’ve gotten weaker!”
Realizing she had weakened, Aileen ran into Sejun’s arms with a delighted expression.
Heheheh.
Sejun grinned slyly and hugged her tightly—
“Nya?! Then I, Vice Chairman Theo, shall also hug the great hybrid Chairman Park, nya!”
[Hehet. Me too!]
Queng!
Kihihit.
Everyone joined in, throwing themselves into Sejun’s arms. Thanks to that, Sejun felt warm with everyone’s body heat against him.
And then—
Ah. I’m happy.
Happiness surged from his chest like waves. He felt like he could die happy right now.
But such moments didn’t last long.
Ten minutes later.
“Gurk!”
“Sejun!”
Sejun collapsed unconscious, barely escaping death. The [Earrings of Brilliant Darkness] had finished charging.
“Chairman Park! Get it together, nya! Everyone, stomp fast, nya!”
“Kkyut-kkyut-kkyut. Yes!”
Queng!
[Daddy, wake up, da yo!]
Kihihit. Ngh! Ngh!
[Hehe! Great Kkamang’s secret move—Stomping Butler’s Face!]
Everyone began stomping Sejun’s face diligently. Kkamang, somehow, already had a piece of roasted sweet potato jerky in his mouth.
And so ended their chaotic first day on Earth.
***
The next morning.
“Up we go.”
Sejun woke up, gathered the group, and headed to the bathroom to wash up.
“Nice and refreshing.”
He smiled as he finished washing his face. The kindergarten had been built in the latest Earth architectural style—modern and convenient.
Of course, using skills would be easier, but it wasn’t bad to wash up normally once in a while.
As he left the bathroom and peeked into the next room—
Grrrr...
He saw Aileen sleeping soundly.
Cute.
Sejun smirked and quietly closed the door. Then he checked the children's room to make sure they were sleeping well and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast.
While he was preparing breakfast—
“Mmm...”
Aileen stretched and came into the kitchen.
“Aileen, you’re up?”
“Yeah. Sejun, should I help?”
“Uh?! Oh, no. I’ve almost finished.”
Flustered by her offer, Sejun rushed to finish cooking. He had to make sure she didn’t get the chance to cook.
As the meal neared completion—
“Mr. Sejun, I’m hungry.”
“Mangmangi too.”
“Pongpong too!”
The kids, woken by the delicious smell, came into the kitchen one by one.
“Sit at the table and wait just a little longer.”
“Okay!”
At Sejun’s words, Aileen sat at the table first.
“Yes!”
“Me too!”
The kids quickly followed, afraid Aileen would steal all the food.
A little while later.
After breakfast—
Koohehehe. Queng!
[Hehehe. Daddy, here’s your coffee, da yo!]
“Thanks.”
Queng handed Sejun a cup of coffee as he sat in the yard.
“Queng, can I have one too?”
Aileen, wanting to drink coffee with Sejun, also asked Queng for a cup. Coffee was bitter alone, but bearable with chocolate cake.
Queng!
Delighted by Aileen’s request, Queng happily brewed another cup. It made him happy that more people wanted his coffee.
“Queng, make a big batch and take some to Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle too. They’ll love it.”
Watching him, Sejun spoke kindly.
Queng!
Queng was even happier now.
While he brewed another cup for Aileen and headed off to deliver the rest to Sejun’s family—
“Mr. Sejun, is that tasty?”
The kids started eyeing Sejun’s coffee.
“Hehehe. Wanna try?”
Sejun held out the coffee to the kids. Instead of denying them and piquing their curiosity, he figured it was better to let them try it once.
And—
“Blech!”
“Ptuh! Ptuh!”
“Eww... bitter!”
“Ptuh! This is yucky!”
Just as Sejun expected, after one sip, the kids recoiled in horror. They probably wouldn’t be interested in coffee again.
Hmph. This is the taste of adulthood that kids just don’t get.
Feeling proud, Sejun looked down at the kids with a smug face.
“Nya! This is rotten, nya!”
[Sejun-nim, no good!]
Kihihit. Ngh! Ngh!
[Hehe! Butler’s rotten again! Let’s stomp!]
As everyone enthusiastically stomped Sejun’s face—
Thud.
A heavy sound echoed as something landed in the yard.
Piyot!
[Master Theo!]
“Uhehehehe. Hello there!”
“Mohehehehe. Hello!”
It was Piyot, Yuren, and Poyo. As always, Yuren’s misfortunes remained dynamic.
Then—
“Piggy! Piggy yummy!”
Bear-Bear shouted as he saw Yuren.
“Piggy?”
“Yummy?!”
The children’s eyes sparkled as they rushed toward Yuren.
