Soul Land 5: The Rebirth of Tang San-Chapter 926: Awakening
Chapter 926: Awakening
Tang San entered meditation once more, this time performing a deep introspection and focusing on adjusting his multiple bloodlines based on his findings. In other words, he began reorganizing everything within himself.
At the core of his dantian was the stabilizing force of the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor. Surrounding it were the four other transcendent bloodlines. Tang San repositioned these four transcendent bloodline imprints into four "corners" around the central core. He then placed four other bloodline imprints between them to prevent direct conflict. The Peacock, Dragon Roc, Chrono Croc, and Immortal Flame imprints served this purpose. As for the newest addition, the Blue Gold Tree imprint, it acted like a satellite orbiting the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor, steadily distributing life energy to nourish all bloodline imprints.
This realignment was difficult. Fortunately, with Tang San's greatly enhanced divine consciousness and the support of the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor and Blue Gold Tree imprint, he just barely managed to stabilize all the bloodline imprints.
When this system built around a central hub and four pillars was completed, Tang San felt an unexpected lightness in his body. It wasn't a physical change, but rather a metaphysical one: the pressure he felt from the plane had lessened somewhat. In other words, compared to before, his chance of surviving the tribulation to become an Emperor had increased. Survival was still unlikely, but death was no longer a hundred-percent absolute. Maybe it was ninety-nine, maybe ninety-five... In any case, progress was progress, and even a small chance of survival was still a chance of survival.
With the optimization now complete, Tang San's entire aura became deeper and more profound. The other bloodline imprints were now shrouded beneath the aura of the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor and the Blue Gold Tree clan's life force.
The positioning of the bloodlines wasn't arbitrary. For example, between the Discerning Eye of Heaven and the Crystal Transformation, he placed the Peacock Transformation. Both the Discerning Eye of Heaven and the Crystal Transformation had some measure of affinity with space, and this imprint allowed them to harmonize through the space between them.
Between the Indestructible Lion-Tiger and the Discerning Eye of Heaven, he inserted the Chrono Transformation. Time energy and the presence of the Spacetime Lighthouse made it ideal for maintaining a buffer between any two powers.
The Immortal Flame Transformation, with its power of nirvanic rebirth, was the perfect separator between the two most combat-oriented imprints, the Golden Armor and the Indestructible Lion-Tiger.
The Dragon Roc Transformation, due to its Golden Roc and Wind Dragon bloodlines, fit well between the Golden Armor and Crystal Transformations. It offered just enough stability to keep things in check.
With the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor adjusting everything from the center, he was able to maintain balance.
Tang San knew now that before becoming an Emperor, he absolutely could not add any more bloodlines. If the balance he had so painstakingly created were to collapse, adding more bloodlines wouldn't make him stronger. Instead, it could actually kill him.
Everything would have to wait until after he became an Emperor. Only then could his divine seat truly awaken, restoring him to the rightful status of the Sea God. While it wouldn't outright bring him back to God King level, it would be equivalent to a First-Rank god of his former divine realm, more than enough to rival even the most powerful Emperors of this plane.
With everything finally in place, Tang San ended his cultivation session.
When he stepped out of his room, he was surprised to find a Blue Gold Tree elder waiting outside.
Upon asking, he was told that he had been in closed-door cultivation for more than forty days. At first, the elders were simply acclimating to the Ancestral Court and weren't overly concerned. But after so long without seeing him, they began to worry and took turns standing guard, waiting for him to awaken. A major event had recently been announced by the Ancestral Court, and they were eager for Tang San to know as soon as possible.
"Gather everyone for a meeting," Tang San instructed the elder.
His quarters were the most spacious, so it made sense to convene there.
Before long, twenty-eight of the thirty-six elders had arrived. The other eight, including Jin Miaosen, were out, clearly off somewhere to enjoy themselves. For the Blue Gold Tree clan, the Ancestral Court was relatively safe; open fighting was not allowed here.
"Clan Leader, did your closed-door cultivation go smoothly?" the Grand Elder asked.
Tang San nodded. "I made some progress. It went well."
The Grand Elder sighed in relief. "That's good. We didn't expect your cultivation session to last so long. Anyway, there's an important matter we need to report to you."
"Has the Ancestral Court finally convened a meeting to discuss our situation?" Tang San had, after all, been waiting for such a meeting.
The Grand Elder shook his head. "No. We aren't sure what's going on with that, but in any case, we haven't received any notice from the council to wake you up."
Over forty days and still no plans for a final discussion regarding the Blue Gold Tree clan's neutrality? That likely meant the demon and nymph factions hadn't reached an agreement. With the Sunborne Nymph Emperor backing the proposal, the Solstice Empire shouldn't be a problem. So the issue had to be on the Empyrean Dominion's side. But as the successor to the Ancestral Tree, wasn't Tang San's proposal for neutrality objectively better for the Dominion? Unless... could the Celestial Fox Demon Emperor have seen through his agenda?
"What is it, then?" Tang San asked. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
The Grand Elder rubbed his hands together. "It's a major development—yes, truly major. We're not sure whether you have a real chance, but we still think you should participate. After all, it could impact the future of the Blue Gold Tree clan. I also suspect that the delay in the Ancestral Court's decision about our neutrality may be related to this matter."
Ah, so that's what it was. Tang San naturally realized what the elder meant, but he didn't say it aloud. Instead, he gestured for him to continue.
The Grand Elder said gravely, "You see, of the seven major cities in the Solstice Empire, only Skytree City doesn't have an Emperor. Well, now Adamant City doesn't either, I suppose. Over in the Empyrean Dominion, there was also one major city without an Emperor, Kali City. It's the one on the eastern shore of the continent. That city is home to the Peacock Demon clan. The Peacock Demon Emperor from a long time ago was a truly powerful being; her title was Celestial Dancer, because her dance allowed her to peer into the secrets of heaven. But ever since her, the clan hasn't produced another Emperor... yet.
"In the past two years, a new prodigy has risen in the Peacock Demon clan. Rumor has it she's a hybrid, a mix of Peacock Demon, White Tiger, and human blood. Her talent is extraordinary. She recently won both the solo and pair matches in the Ancestral Court's Elite Competition, and she's showcased incredible potential. She's widely considered the most likely candidate to become the next Peacock Demon Emperor."
As the Grand Elder spoke about Mei Gongzi, Tang San couldn't help but feel a strange mix of emotions—satisfaction, pride, and deep longing, but also some measure of dread. He'd been in closed-door cultivation for over forty days now, and she was probably going crazy. When they met again, she was unlikely to be pleased.
He smiled wryly at the thought.
Unaware of Tang San's thoughts, the Grand Elder continued, "With the fall of the Crystal Demon Emperor and the Adamant Nymph Emperor, our plane now has the capacity to support more Emperors. In theory, there should be three open seats. The Empyrean Dominion appears to be backing this new Peacock Demon clan leader to take one of those seats. After all, she's already a city lord, so it's reasonable. But because she has human blood, before she can ascend, she must choose a husband from among demons or nymphs. This will be done through a combat tournament, a formal matchmaking contest."
