Chapter 464 – She wonders if her mother ever regretted about her decisions. (3)
Huo Sishen’s shoulder dropped right away.
Once, her dream was to have her big brother returned and replaced her second brother.
Gu Shishi held her hand and squeezed it to comfort her.
Nevertheless, they quickly heard the next thing coming from Huo Sishen and looked up in pleasant surprise.
“Everything from the Huo family will be your dowry.”
Huo Sishen enunciated each and every single word clearly and assertively.
Huo ChuChu’s eyes lit up like it never had before. “…… Big Brother.”
The Huo’s family fortune was accumulated from her grandfather’s generation. Her big brother wanted none of it but to give all to her as her dowry?
.....This was not something measurable in terms of money – it was the love from an older brother to his younger sister!
She had secretly waited for gifts from her big brother every past birthday and she was disappointed every time.
But, the truth was that he had never left and had always had her best interest in mind?
Gu Shishi got excited as well. She quickly tugged Huo Sishen on his arm. “Are we going to boot Huo Wencheng out altogether? You must keep your words and help Chuchu in solidifying her position in the company. She hasn’t been working for that long after all.”
Huo Sishen’s lips curved upward slightly and he said, “Why don’t you ask her if she wants to bring with her Executive Assistant Meng with the body of a model and face like a fresh meat; the one that she talks about day in and day out that knows everything?”
“OOOOHHH!!!!”
Huo groundhog Chuchu popped up once again inside the room.
“Are you serious, Big Brother??”
Huo Sishen nodded but also had a long face.
“He has a girlfriend.”
Huo ChuChu tsk’d. She didn’t even blush when she said, “I know that! I only see him as a teacher! Big Brother, what are you talking about?!”
Huo Sishen grunted and did not elaborate.
After dinner, Huo ChuChu finally took off after another round of chitchating about life as a pregnant woman with Gu Shishi and consulted her big brother on strategies with regards to taking over the company.
Shortly after she had taken off, Gu Shishi snuck into the study and wrapped her arms around the working man’s neck.
“Chuchu said that Executive Assistant Meng was an elite who studied abroad? He is MBA with a master in finance who is also an expert in market analysis, sales, and capital M&A?”
Huo Sishen had just finished up signing a document. Putting his pen down, he reached out to support her arm, worried that she might fall.
“Mmhmm.”
Gu Shishi’s cheeks puffed up immediately. “Why is it that he doesn’t have male-pattern baldness? Why is it that all of the talents in management that you referred to me each looks older than another?”
Huo Sishen lowered his eyes.
The education for his sister must be subtle.
He needed to place a man outstanding enough next to her. That way her vision, taste and ability to read people would all go up.
That way she wouldn’t fall for just any slightly-talented boys in the future.
The Qin’s sisters made the best examples. Both of them fell hard in the puppy love. They had never seen mountains or oceans; that was why they would fall so hard over a mere pond!
Education was about prevention. It was important to show them the world first!
But, when it came to his wife… he was possessive. No encroachment was allowed. And no rocking of the boat!
Him being the only outstanding man around her was sufficient!
“You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.”
Huo Sishen added calmly as he pinched her puffed up cheeks.
“Hrm!”
Leaning against him, Gu Shishi’s lips started curving upward slowly.
Such a jealous man!
It was almost 9 PM when Huo ChuChu arrived home.
When she arrived home, she found the all the lights on in the living room and Mother Huo sitting on the couch, drinking a bottle of red wine by herself.
Huo ChuChu, who did not want to engage with her mother initially, suddenly recalled how sweet her big brother and her sister-in-law were. Looking now at how lonely Mother Gu was, she couldn’t help but felt sad, happy, fulfilling, regret, and also teeth-grinding hate.
This family would never be able to get back together.
