Spending the Villain’s Money to Extend My Life-Chapter 472 - Mother Gu's face turned from red to white, paper white! (2)
Chapter 472 – Mother Gu’s face turned from red to white, paper white! (2)
Previously, when Mother Gu first returned to capital city, she was very bitter. At times she’d be upset that even when her father could tell that Gu Jiangxin was not a nice man, he did not object to her marrying him all the way and that had ruined her life; other times she’d cry and hate on her big and second brothers for not slowly transferring their properties over to City Shun over the years to help take care of their sister and their sickly niece and to back the two of them up.
Had her family backed her up more, Gu Jiangxin would not have betrayed her the way that he did.
But… now, when she really thought about it, she realize that she was in a much better situation than Qian Jinglan!
“Sister-in-law, I really pity that Qian Jinglan.”
Mother Gu took the opportunity when others wanted to play mahjong and were moving over to the game room and went over to the powder room with Chen Yunping.
She couldn’t help but lamented when she re-applied her foundation.
“Obviously, her son had abandoned her. Both of her daughter-in-law’s parents were in Germany. How were they able to get used to Western food? Then there is that little daughter of hers. I’ve met her before. She is such a spoiled brat and so selfish. Qian Jinglan had to spend the money she got from the divorce settlement to put her through school. And now she didn’t even want Qian Jinglan to live with her? Now that she is married and has her own family, she had abandoned her mother?!”
Chen Yunping reapplied her lipstick and nervously looked around when she heard Mother Gu’s words.
.....She let out a sigh of relief only after she saw that there was nobody around.
“Third Sister, you never know who can hear you.”
She was so distressed after the divorce that she didn’t even want to leave the house. Now she was all that when she talked about the others.
“Don’t worry. I’m not that stupid. I’ve already checked. Everybody had headed over to the third floor.”
Grandmother smiled confidently.
“Sister-in-law, how much did Qian Jinglan get when she divorced her husband?”
Mother Gu was nosy.
Qian Jinglan was much smarter than her, she only got a house in the divorce.
Chen Yunping sighed to herself.
“That I don’t know. Quite a bit, I’d imagine. She opened up a beauty salon by my apartment a while ago.”
Mother Gu was taken aback a little when she heard that.
Chen Yunping glanced over at her. She decided that now was the time to give Mother Gu a wake-up call.
“She must have invested at least 5 million yuan. Not everyone could afford that location.”
“In addition to the spa, she opened up a tea shop as well, like this one that we are at today.”
Mother Gu was shocked.
She looked around her.
She had assumed that this was just a normal tea shop and didn’t think it particularly special.
Now that she had learned that this was owned by the person that she found pitiful just a second ago, she looked around it again and found it… refined and elegant.
They had private booth for young couples and also space for housewives with lots of time on hand. There were powder rooms, game rooms, spa area… you name it. The overall environment was retro and graceful.
Mother Gu was no idiot.
The rent in this area could not be cheap.
Then there was this décor. It must have cost her over 5 million yuan.
“Don’t look down on her. She might not be living with her children, but her monthly income is as high as many young people who work hard.”
That was Chen Yunping’s summary.
“She had enough money for her golden age. She even reserved a cruise boat last year and invited us with her.”
She glanced over at Mother Gu.
Sure enough, Mother Gu looked so shocked that her hand paused in midair, gripping tight on the foundation.
Seeing that her point had gotten through, Chen Yunping stood up. “We should go. If we don’t go join them soon, they will be coming to look for us.”
Nothing that someone close to her could say could wake her up.
A person whom she thought was doing much worse than her was actually doing much better than her, wealthier than her ought to get the job done!
