Spirit Soul-Chapter 219 Revolting Mind
Only now as the effects of the spores affected him too did Kyle realize just how powerful they were.
His entire being was attacked in multiple ways.
Whether it was dizziness, a nausea sensation, or a partial paralyzation, everything seemed to occur at the same time, weakening him considerably.
In the end, even his fingers went numb and he nearly lost his grasp over the Starbreaker katana.
This was the moment when Kyle clearly understood that he had to do something against the spores that had invaded his entire body.
It was fortunate that the others around him were as affected as he was, otherwise, Kyle would have had to face far more problems.
While moving through the horde of stumbling Cultivators of the Myda and Kandras race, he clearly sensed hundreds of attacks from the air shooting towards them.
The Aeroa race was unaffected by the spores as they hadn't traveled that far to reach and affect them yet.
This gave them the much-needed advantage in order to kill everyone in their sight.
In less than a minute after Kyle had jumped into the fray of opponents, the groups of Aeroa had realized that nearly everyone on the ground was acting weirdly.
It didn't take them long to comprehend what was going on, giving them the necessary motivation to tweak and change their plans.
Initially, they had just wanted to kill Kyle out of spite for being more proficient in the wind affinity than they were.
The Aeroa didn't really care about the fact that he possessed a mutated Licara seed.
After all, for them it was only a matter of time before Kyle would lose this treasure.
He was alone, and at a low cultivation base!
Because they felt like this, it was not hard for them to change their tactic, to attack the Kandras and Myda race, whose strength had deteriorated drastically.
In the long run, taking out the high number of the two races' prodigies was the best the Aeroa could do, instead of allowing their mind to be preoccupied with the thought of killing Kyle by all means.
This thought slowly turned into a determination as they sensed the advantage of taking the others out instead of Kyle.
Taking advantage of the Aeroa's train of thoughts and change of attitude towards him, Kyle used some of the Soul energy that was stored within him to empower the Nurture ability.
Afterward, he focused it on his own body while attempting to expel the spores that affected his body.
Simultaneously, Kyle used the nurture ability to tend to his wounds.
After he had used it to an extent to make the bleeding stop, he tended the cuts to the extent that a light scab formed on them, preventing more spores from entering his body.
In less than two minutes, Kyle had left the most crowded area of the three races that had arrived after traveling from far away.
Meanwhile, the effect of the spores was cleansed, giving him the opportunity to take a deep breath.
By intently observing the situation around him, it was clear that he was about to be attacked in no time.
But that was fine because he figured that the devouring tree seedling's spores were far more potent than initially presumed.
He had just wanted to use them in order to weaken his opponents, and not to kill or gravely maim them.
However, in the end, it was not as if Kyle wanted to complain about his little companion's help.
It made him happy to have found such a great, and unexpected comrade, even if there was the tiny nuisance of the spores affecting him as well.
Nonetheless, the countdown before he was able to leave the dome was still far too high to be happy about anything.
Time passed way too slowly in Kyle's opinion, but he realized that this was likely to be his mindset owing to the tension that had accumulated in his body.
As such, he decided to do something extremely stupid just for the sake of releasing his tension, and feel less burdened by the thought that there were still roughly 50 minutes left on his countdown.
'It will be fine, right?'
He could only hope for the best as he turned around and used the wind currents that were still enveloping him tightly to materialize more than a dozen spinning wind spears.
Afterward, Kyle charged back to the group of dying Myda and Kandras.
Ignoring their painful screams, and the hardships he had caused them, Kyle's attention was averted towards the group of tens of Aeroa that circled over them and shot a variety of attacks such as wind blades, bullets, and spears at them.
They were using the simplest attacks with a high velocity for the sake of killing the Myda and Kandras as quickly as possible.
And it worked, so why shouldn't they do this?
But the Kandras and Myda wanted to fight against the Aeroa and were not willing to go down easily. This made them use various types of long-range weapons.
As they were unable to utilize them properly owing to the dizzy sensation that was still flooding their mind, they couldn't initiate any lethal attacks.
This caused the groups of Aeroa to lower their guard, changing their strategy from acting vigilant and being ready to defend against any kind of attack, to start slaughtering everyone.
Even though Kyle knew that the Myda and Kandras race wanted to kill him, he felt weird to have caused the start of such a slaughter.
It was against his principles that were kind of complex, to begin with.
First of all, Kyle was not the type to give up, even if the issues at hand appeared to be impossible to be solved.
And secondly, he hated bullies and injustice.
Death was something everyone must be accustomed to in the Era of Cultivation as everyone strived to become stronger.
Every single being had their own reasoning, motives, and ambitions to become stronger.
However, even then, certain things could be avoided if they were not necessary, to begin with.
Because this was something Kyle had in mind, he felt that the situation at hand was way too cruel.
It simply forced everyone to kill others for the sake of preventing them from interfering in the process of allowing them to procure more treasures.
What he had difficulty accepting was that this kind of attitude was perfectly normal, that he was not acting much differently if one were to think about it thoroughly.
Only later would Kyle realize that he was being naive and a hypocrite. He was not able to comprehend that death and massacring others was an ingrained trait of a survivor's life that was far more common than he expected.
He should have already understood this by now. After all, he had been inside the Razkadan castle for a long.
But even then, his old mindset of the past life was clashing with the new experiences and the problems he had to face in his new life, after the reincarnation!
Slowly, after having faced a number of challenges, his old theories, mottos, and experiences were merging with everything that was occurring right now.
On one hand was the old Kyle, who was a scholar, and on the other hand was the reincarnation- the young man, who was able to cultivate, to fight with his peers head-on.
Both these individual identities were slowly merging into one.
Without realizing it before, Kyle had separated both individuals, thinking that his body was young, while his mind was old.
In the end, it had become a mess and had certain grey areas so it was clear that he would still take some time to get his act together.
Understanding that the Universe was not as peaceful or forgiving for the weak as it had been in his past life was the most difficult.
After all, the beings that are not able to cultivate and become stronger are destined to die on Shima.
On the other hand, in his past life, he was just treated badly, and bullied, but, even his past self was able to live beyond 100 years!
Right now, given the cruel massacre around him, Kyle felt as if his entire world was breaking apart.
He hadn't really minded anything earlier, but now, he felt sad and angered about everything.
'Just what the hell is going on with me?!'
Gritting his teeth, Kyle began to curse inwardly before he shot the spinning wind spears high into the air. f𝓇𝘦ℯ𝙬𝑒𝐛n𝐨νe𝙡.c𝑜𝗺
Targeting the Aeroa that was the least guarded, and most focused on attacking, Kyle didn't want to show any mercy.
However, as his mind had been a bit sidetracked owing to the unnecessary thoughts of playing it fair, and giving others a second chance, the trajectory of his attacks changed.
Instead of piercing through the vital spots of the Aeroa, the high-velocity spears drilled their way through the legs, arms and wings of multiple Aeroa.
Not a single one hit their abdomen, let alone pierce through his opponent's chest.
What Kyle didn't realize while attacking, was that his attacks were far stronger than before.
The velocity of the spinning spears was thrice as high as his crescent wind blades were usually.
This made it close to impossible for the Aeroa to evade them.
Seeing the events of their life flash in front of their eyes the moment the spinning spears pierced through them, the Aeroa that had been hit froze at once. 𝗳𝔯𝙚e𝒘e𝚋𝘯𝚘ν𝙚l.𝑐o𝙢
Only when they understood that they were still alive did they regain their senses several seconds later.
Unbearable pain spread through their body, but they were alive, which was the most important.
Yet, after understanding that a young Cultivator at the Low Vitae stage had been able to attack them with such a devastating attack caused the Aeroa to notice his existence and make plans to take him out once again.
But that was not something Kyle was concerned about as he merged with the group of Myda and Kandras, disappearing from the sight of the group of Aeroa.
Taking deep breaths, he tried to calm himself and not let his hands shiver while killing his opponents because it was a necessity to survive and obliterate everyone.
However, even after several minutes passed, and more than a hundred more spinning wind spears fired at the Aeroa, Kyle felt incapable of doing it.
'Am I revolting against myself?!' He could only wonder, only to perceive that the surrounding Myda and Kandras were slowly regaining their senses.
The effect of the spores had weakened, giving hundreds of Cultivators the necessary strength to start retaliating against the Aeroa race with renewed vigor.
Leaving the three races alone, Kyle gave them some space to fight against each other.
In the meantime, he took a few deep breaths while trying to calm himself.
'Why the hell can't I kill them right now? They want to tear me apart, so there is nothing wrong with killing them, right? It's not like I've never killed before either!'
Yet, even then, Kyle's mind was being funny, and the experiences of his past and present life were finally starting to merge.
However, this would bring forth far more issues than he could have ever imagined.
After all, his current life was filled with death, while his past had been more peaceful, even if there had been death!
As such, while rushing through the forest, and ensuring to avoid the small groups of opponents, Kyle didn't even notice the time.
'Oh…less than half an hour? How did the countdown run so fast?'
