SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes-Chapter 16: Profile Status: Unlocked!
Most of the time, a glowing body part usually meant that a skill was about to be used. This is especially the case for low-graded skills or skills that are not mastered by the user yet.
When the Tier 1 Warrior used his skill [Charge], his body began to glow as well.
Seeing that the tail began to glow, Desther immediately realized that it was about to use a skill.
What kind of skill it was, he doesn’t know and could only speculate.
There was no record about its skill and capabilities in the materials provided by the school.
What he knew was that he must be careful and vigilant.
Gripping the dagger with his right hand, Desther did not wait for it and instead ran to meet the creature head-on, planning to build momentum.
However, even with an increase in his Agility Attribute, his speed was still incomparable to the creature’s.
The moment the two met in the middle, the creature immediately swung its tail toward Desther.
The speed it was traveling was even more swift than its running speed.
Having prepared for it, Desther did not panic and preemptively ducked at the right moment.
He might not be as fast as the creature, but he could predict where the attack would land by observing its movement, allowing him to evade in advance.
Seeing such subtle movements was quite hard at first, but he learned and adapted to it the hard way.
This is a pretty useful ability to have in an apocalypse with a mortal body.
This is also the same ability that one could use to avoid bullets before they left the gun’s muzzle.
No need to ask how he knew. He experienced it firsthand before.
BOOM!
As he was able to evade in advance, Desther completely dodged the creature’s attack imbued with a skill.
It was fortunate that he did so, since the area where he was earlier was now devastated with the strike.
A stiff smile surfaced on his face. Even with an increase in his Vitality, he did not think that he would be able to withstand that strike at all.
’Normal attacks can be blocked or parried, but Skills should be evaded a hundred percent,’ Desther thought to himself.
He twisted his body and immediately stabbed the creature with the dagger.
He encountered some resistance at first, but due to his strength, it was able to go through in the end.
The only problem was that he heard a ’ding’ sound being produced at the moment of impact. Even without looking at it, Desther could feel that the blade of the dagger was about to break.
This was only a blade forged for them to use during the awakening ceremony after all.
As a matter of fact, it has absolutely no business stabbing a dungeon boss, especially without being enhanced by a Skill’s power.
Monsters were generally stronger and tougher compared to humans after all.
Still, it was able to do its function, and Desther was glad and satisfied for that.
The creatures wailed in pain once more. Its injuries were grave and life-threatening. It could barely see with its remaining eye now, and its neck was also stabbed by the dagger.
The excruciating pain made its eyes go blank for a second.
And before it could properly process what was going on, it suddenly felt its snout getting grabbed.
Held in place, the creature felt its head spin for a second as a tremendous force landed on its head.
Punch after punch connected and shook its brain.
Desther did not allow the creature to recover. By grabbing its mouth, he held it in place as he kept on punching its head over and over again.
As expected of a Dungeon Boss fused with a Dungeon Core, even after taking all that damage, it still did not meet its ancestor.
Fortunately, Desther’s Vitality was quite high now. Or else, Desther might have already felt tired after all those full-powered punches.
Due to its thick skin, Desther’s fist even hurt a little after all those punches.
Fortunately, the creature soon grew weaker.
Seeing that it was growing weaker without having the chance to retaliate, he yanked it to the side and grabbed it by the tail this time.
Without wasting any time, Desther smashed it to the ground without mercy.
Like a whip, the lizard-like creature was smashed to the ground repeatedly.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
The sound of it was quite rhythmic, to say the least.
It was music to Desther’s ears.
Like a symphony that announced the dungeon boss’ death, his vision soon flashed with the familiar screens.
And only then did Desther stop.
Looking at the creature, its head looked badly mutilated now.
The Dungeon Core was still intact and did not seem to take any damage from all those smashes.
After the screen appeared, it soon detached itself from the lizard’s body, rolling to the ground with a ’ding’ sound.
Panting, Desther focused his attention on the screens.
[ You have killed the Dungeon Boss: Giant Lizard Hatchling! ]
[ Your experience points have increased: +35% ]
[ You have killed a monster for the first time after awakening! ]
[ You can now view your ’Profile Status’ ]
This series of notifications solidified the fact that he has indeed awakened successfully.
Being able to view the ’Profile Status’ meant a lot of things for Professional Awakeners.
This signifies that one has truly shed their mortal destiny and has now begun their path to being an Awakened Professional. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
This also indicates that a Professional has been recognized by the World System as someone worthy to bear the power that can protect the world.
At least, that was how the experts viewed it.
[ Marked target eliminated! ]
[ Free Attributes: +9 ]
[ Theft Mark: 4/5 ]
While reviewing the screens, an earthquake suddenly shook the surroundings once more. This time, it was even more intense than the last.
Desther fell down after losing his balance.
After it subsided, he did not waste time and immediately reached toward the Dungeon Core.
He did forget that the mission indicated for him to destroy the Dungeon Core and stop the dungeon from mutating.
Right now, he was just worried about what kind of way he would be able to destroy the Dungeon Core.
He actually did not expect it to be that sturdy. Getting hit by the bullet and getting smashed to the ground repeatedly did it no harm.
As his hand rested and picked it up, he actually sensed that it was quite fragile and easy to break. It was as if a little thought and a little force would be enough to break it apart.
Sensing that, Desther did not hesitate and immediately clenched his hand.
Like a fragile glass, the once-sturdy Dungeon Core broke apart and shattered immediately.
The shards fell to the ground.
The Dungeon went unusually quiet.
And at the next moment, the transparent screen flashed in front of his eyes once more.
