SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes-Chapter 47: Fighting The Hell Cat
Sunken eyes like a skeleton, red irises that sent shivers down the spine.
Desther felt unusually creeped out the moment the Hell Cat turned toward his location.
Not wanting to waste any time staring at such an eldritch horror, he did not waste any time and immediately condensed a Magic Bullet out of thin air.
The range was acceptable, so there was no need to rush head-on and fight them like a brute when he has a range attack.
Although his attributes were obviously much higher compared to them, Desther was not the type to go into needless risk.
Not to mention, according to the information he knew about Hell Cats, they were a predatory monster that relied on quick and swift attacks. This was also confirmed since the attribute he had stolen from them earlier was the Agility Attribute.
Their strongest means had now been reduced to half because of his Ultimate Thief, though, so that would be one less of a worry.
With a snap of his finger, the transparent Magic Bullet condensed and was shot toward the Hell Cat in the distance.
Due to its highest attribute getting halved all of a sudden, the Hell Cat, famous for its speed and reflexes, was not able to react in time before the Magic Bullet arrived and struck its ugly face.
Hiss!
Blood spurted out as the Hell Cat leaned back due to the impact.
The other hissed and immediately dashed toward him at extreme speed.
This extreme speed, though, was relative to its current Agility Attribute.
Since its Agility was not as high as before, the Hell Cat immediately noticed the difference. However, due to its rage, it did not care too much and continued charging toward Desther.
Having prepared for its counterattack, Desther quickly cast another Magic Bullet before leaping to the side.
With great control over his strength, Desther’s body immediately moved a few meters away.
The moment he landed, another Magic Bullet was cast without hesitation.
The Hell Cat was hit twice in a row. It grimaced in pain but continued to chase after him without rest.
’One Magic Bullet in the head was not enough to kill it?’
Desther thought to himself as he saw the other Hell Cat slowly standing up in the distance.
Although his Magic Bullet’s damage has increased due to the increase in his Intelligence Attribute, it did not seem to be enough to one-hit kill a monster of considerable size.
Snapping his finger, Desther cast another Magic Bullet and quickly thought of another utilization of his Magic Bullet skill.
Since the power and damage were not enough, then he simply thought of increasing it.
He had thought about the utilization of this skill before.
Reading countless novels online was not in vain.
He was just limited by practice and experience.
If such a scenario occurs where he could not easily kill his opponent, he thought of two solutions that he could apply while utilizing Magic Bullet.
It was either to increase his fire frequency or to increase the output or amount of mana he uses for the skill to function.
The former was easier compared to the latter.
After all, increasing fire frequency could be improved through practice and his mastery over the skill.
As for the former, it would basically mean that he would need to understand the structure of the skill itself, create his own input, and allow it to form an entirely new output.
For years, Professional Awakened had always used their skills according to the intuition they received the moment they got or awakened their skill.
Studies have been made, and some theorize that if one were able to understand how the skill truly works, they would be able to alter it in ways that could potentially exceed the skill’s original grade.
However, this was easier said than done. Even until now, there were still no substantial results regarding this kind of thing.
According to public knowledge he learned from the internet, as mastery or proficiency over the skill increased, the user’s understanding toward it would increase as well.
From a theory he knew online, when one reaches the ’Perfection’ in their Profeciency—if that ever exists—then they would reach the pinnacle and truly have mastery over the skill they possessed.
Of course, Desther was not arrogant to think that he would be the first one to discover it.
However, with his skillset and his talent that was beyond normal, he was also not neglecting the idea of him discovering new things the others weren’t able to.
And with such a thought in mind, Desther quickly got rid of his distracting thoughts as he focused on the battle.
Such a rare opportunity for battle, he wanted to utilize the experience and quickly raise the proficiency of his skill.
Another Magic Bullet was cast as he took another leap to the side.
Strangely enough, Desther did not have to snap his fingers, but the Magic Bullet still formed and was shot toward the Hell Cat.
This was not an improvement, but actually him getting rid of this pretense.
After all, he originally did not have to snap his fingers to cast his skill but thought of doing it to confuse potential enemies in the future.
There were some skills that would require actions before they could be cast or used, but Magic Bullet was not one of them.
If his future enemies ever tried to restrain his fingers and stop him from snapping, then he would surprise them by firing a Magic Bullet without snapping his fingers.
For Desther, not only was this a fun way of restraining himself, it was also a form of training. After all, casting a skill while simultaneously snapping your finger was not an easy thing to do as well.
Getting rid of this action for now, Desther immediately noticed the difference in his casting speed.
Although it was only a fraction of a second of difference, in a fast-paced battle, it would surely decide one’s doom or demise.
