SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes-Chapter 52: Crisis
’Lexie Corazon Baltazar...’
Speechless and confused, Desther closed the picture and tried to confirm his assumption by going over to her wall.
There, he saw her recent posts and updates and finally confirmed that it was truly her, no mistakes.
Most of her updates were just regarding her daily life in school, as well as her awakening progress.
In each of her posts, countless likes and comments poured in. Most were encouraging her, and some wished her good luck. Some bolder comments went as far as confessing their love to her.
’She is quite famous on social media, too, huh...’ Desther commented as he continued to scroll down her wall to see her activities.
He saw her posting some pictures of herself. Mostly selfies on different occasions and in different places.
Most of her pictures were above her waist. Even when it appeared that someone had taken a picture of her, the posted picture was always cropped to only show above her waist.
After confirming over and again that it was indeed her, a question now filled Desther’s mind.
First, why did she decide to follow him? And second, how did she know his account information or username?
His username was literally just a random name he came up with, nothing to do with his real-life identity, so there was no way she could have searched him through it.
Most importantly, why did she follow him?
Now, there are only two accounts she follows.
Her account was quite famous. If she had some diehard fans, they would surely notice the change immediately.
’Shit! This is bad...’ Desther finally realized where the foreboding sensation earlier was coming from.
’Should I delete this account and create a new one?’
Starting a new account was not a problem for Desther, but he would need to go through some process again, which he thought was quite troublesome.
He only used this account to look up information on Professional Tube anyway.
’Oh wait. As long as I don’t follow back. It should not be a problem. No one would connect this account to me anyway. I don’t post anything, and I don’t comment on anything. I don’t message anyone in this account either.’
Realizing that he had overreacted earlier, Desther finally heaved a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, he always stayed quiet even on social media. His account doesn’t have any picture of him, and even his profile picture was the default white person.
Aside from that, this account does not include any of his information either. Even the birthday he used was not his real birthday but just a random day and month he casually clicked upon creating the account.
Now that he accepted this crisis, one thing remained puzzling for Desther.
How was she able to locate his account?
Was it just a fluke?
But it was too much of a coincidence to be a fluke, right?
Anyway, like always, Desther does not plan on dwelling with it for long. It would not affect his daily life anyway. There was no need to fret over things that would not directly affect him after all.
"Oh? Is that the girl you like, Desther?"
Desther immediately turned his phone off as he looked behind him.
Macey was looking at him with a knowing smile on her face.
"Do let me meet her in the future, okay?" She said as she began laying down the meal he ordered.
"You misunderstood, Auntie. She’s just a random person online," Desther replied without hesitation.
He actually sensed her approach earlier.
Since he did not want to appear too defensive about the matter, Desther decided on keeping his phone right away and acted nonchalant about it.
This proved to be effective, as Macey bought his lie quite easily.
"Well, too bad. I thought I was going to meet your girlfriend soon," she said.
If Desther acted too secretive about it, she would surely not believe his lies at all.
Sometimes, this was all it took to shrug an inquiring auntie off.
"Here are your six servings of chicken breasts; enjoy your meal, Desther. Call me if you need anything, alright?" She said after she was done putting all the dishes on the table.
"Thank you, Auntie." Desther did not waste time and immediately began eating.
As someone who always works out, there was no way that Desther would not eat as healthy as possible.
As a good source of protein for building muscles, chicken breasts were always his choice to meet his daily protein requirements.
Although he was not as strict with it compared to muscle fanatics, Desther was still able to constantly meet at least 80% of his required daily protein without fail.
Out of all the restaurants he visited, this restaurant was the one that served the most tasty chicken breast; hence, this would always be his order every time he came here.
Before, two servings of chicken breast were already Desther’s limit. However, after his attributes increased, Desther felt that just two servings was no longer enough to satiate his appetite.
And indeed he was right.
Six servings of chicken breast was barely enough to satiate him.
He wondered if his increase in appetite was due to his growing attributes or a side effect of being an Awakened Professional.
If it was the former, then Dether would have to consider another form of diet from now on as well.
After all, if this was due to his growing appetite, there was no way normal chicken breasts would be able to fill his body with the nutrients and energy it needed.
Speaking of it, Desther also realized that he must also try to weigh his body again and see if there was any difference.
He might not have noticed it due to an increase in his overall attributes, but it was still possible that his weight would increase as his attributes increase as well.
After all, there was no way a 65-kilogram person would be able to easily lift a car in the air easily without breaking any bone or tearing any muscle in the process.
After he was done eating, Desther paid the bill totaling 6 Awakened Credits and immediately went home to confirm his thoughts.
Taking out his weighing scale, Desther immediately stepped on it to see the difference.
The weighing scale began to work as the digits spun rapidly before settling into a fixed number.
When he saw the result, Desther could hardly believe it.
