SSS Class Awakening: Start With A God-Level Choice System-Chapter 16: Kyla’s Night Visit Into Ainsworth’s Bedroom
Chapter 16: Kyla's Night Visit Into Ainsworth's Bedroom
After celebrating his successful awakening ceremony with his sister Kyla, Ainsworth went to bed early because he wanted to partake in the Otherworld Mission as soon as possible tomorrow.
In his bedroom, the faint moonlight passed through his glass window and filtered through his curtains, illuminating his sleeping body, which was wrapped in a white quilt.
However, a figure soon appeared which cast a long shadow towards him.
The figure remained silent and was "gazing" at him.
If Ainsworth was awake, he would recognize that figure as his sister Kyla Arthurford.
From the position of her head, she seemed to be looking at him. But the white blindfold covering her eyes hid her gaze or lack thereof.
Kyla's silky long black hair flowed like a hundred thousand silk-strand waterfall, gleaming under the moonlight.
The moonlight accentuated her graceful and curvy figure, lighting up her expressionless face.
Kyla stayed motionless for a minute and didn't do anything yet Ainsworth wasn't awakened by her sudden intrusion.
If it was another person who intruded in his room, he would have been alerted. However, Kyla's presence was familiar to him so his subconscious didn't treat her as a threat.
Kyla remained motionless until she became impatient. She soon moved her right hand towards her white blindfold.
Lifting her white blindfold just enough to reveal her right eyelid, she controlled her right eyelid to open.
However, when her right eyelid opened, it only revealed a gap. She didn't have any eyeballs as her eyes were gouged out by that mysterious organization.
Kyla didn't lie to her brother and she really didn't have her eyes. Otherwise, she would have long wanted to become an SSS-rank Awakener in order to protect her brother.
But, she wasn't telling the truth either.
When mana surged into her right eyeless gap, an illusory eye materialized which soon became more solid in appearance.
Bordering illusory and real, an eyeball with a black iris and a pupil that of a white-colored skull symbolizing death appeared.
When she gazed upon her beloved brother with her Divine Eyes of Death Lines, Kyla was surprised.

Under her gaze, she saw that her brother's body barely had any death lines. The death lines even appeared to be illusory.
Deep in thought, Kyla pondered, 'Is Ain's SSS-rank Freedom Freelancer class' class traits that powerful? It even has the effect of bypassing rule-type abilities like mine. However, the gap between our power still hadn't eliminated his death lines from my vision.'
'If he was an S-rank Awakener like myself, I doubt whether I can still see his death lines.'
Kyla discovered that her brother seemed to have a powerful class that was the nemesis of rule-type abilities. At least, she was confident that if it was at the same power level, her brother was immune to rule-type abilities.
'Furthermore, even the death lines I could see are just the death lines for his physical death. His soul and existential death seemed to be hidden by his class trait's immunity to rule-type abilities.'
'Unless...'
Mana surged within her and concentrated on her right eye. Black-colored lines like roots grew outward with her pupil as the center, painting her white sclera with black lines.
When Kyla used her Divine Eyes of Death Lines to her limits, she soon saw the death lines representing "physical death" appear more visible under her gaze.
Not only physical death but there were even grayish lines of "soul death" appeared. However, it was illusory and was more difficult to cut than the lines representing physical death.
As for the lines representing "existential death", Kyla was half-surprised, half-relieved that she couldn't find it.
To test the efficacy of her eyes, she changed the target from Ainsworth to his bed. Under her gaze, the death lines of "physical death" and "existential death" appeared in Ainsworth's bed.
Soul death wasn't present as Ainsworth's bed was a soulless object. Cutting its physical death would cause it to be destroyed physically.
But if its existential death lines were cut, then that bed's existence would die. The death of existence would cause its existence in history to be wiped out and become nonexistent.
When that happens, the manufacturer of the bed wouldn't know they created it since they didn't in the first place. Even Ainsworth, who slept on it, wouldn't know since in his memory, he was sleeping on the floor and he had never slept on that bed.
With that discovery, Kyla contemplated, 'My Divine Eyes of Death Lines still worked well, so the problem lies with my brother. It's either my eyes are weakened due to the lack of an eyeball, or my power level is too weak to see through his existential death and completely bypass his rule immunity.'
'Unlike most eye bloodlines, my Divine Eyes of Death Lines are present within my soul. Even if those bastards stole my eye, they would only get a normal eye that couldn't do anything.'
'However, due to the lack of a physical carrier, my Divine Eyes of Death Lines is still weaker than my prime as using mana to materialize it is still insufficient for it to display its full power.'
Nonetheless, Kyla was delighted that her brother was doing well.
'I'm glad that he won't be dying soon.'
With that thought in mind, Kyla left silently.
It wasn't the first time she performed a night visit for her brother. She performed this daily.
Her purpose in doing so was to determine whether her brother would die or not.
One of her SSS-rank Death Harbinger's class traits allowed her to predict one's death by analyzing their death lines.
Her prediction wasn't absolute. But it was at least 99.99% accurate.
In those few cases, she would confine her brother to their home whenever she predicted he would die, much to his confusion.
That was her way of showing her love to her brother.
