SSS Class Awakening: Start With A God-Level Choice System-Chapter 171: Ainsworth And Elyndra Return To Edenbridge High
A deafening BOOM echoed as shockwaves tore through the sky!
The ocean split apart in a straight line stretching beyond the horizon, water surging upward as if a giant hand had carved a path through it.
Sea monsters roared and scattered in panic as the sea floor was exposed for several seconds before the waters slammed back together.
Those sea monsters who were slow enough to escape had been obliterated into nothingness. Even a single cell of their flesh was nowhere to be found as it was eradicated by Elyndra’s punch!
Elyndra lowered her hand slowly, staring at her own fingers in disbelief.
"...Ains."
"Mm?"
"I think I’m in love with your power even more now."
Ainsworth smiled helplessly and wrapped an arm around her waist. "Well, if you ever need it, just send a request through our soul bond."
"However, I don’t suggest abusing it, as while it doesn’t have any negative side effects, it does have one disadvantage. If you borrow my power level that is higher than yours, then your power level won’t increase, no matter how you train." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"The same applies if you borrow my proficiencies and skills. Its grade won’t increase until you stop borrowing my power."
Hearing Ainsworth’s explanation, Elyndra nodded in understanding. She didn’t have any plans of relying on him in that way, as she didn’t want to be a burden to him.
However, it did make her wonder if she could borrow Ainsworth’s power, show off as an SSS-rank Awakener, and then win the Valtoria Throne Succession Trial by default.
After all, with her and Ainsworth’s power, which could easily take over the Valtoria Empire and depose her mother, the Reigning Empress of Valtoria, there wouldn’t be any point in letting the succession trial continue.
No matter how talented her royal sisters were, it wouldn’t be to the point that they could also hook up with an SSS-rank Awakener, let alone possess the power of one.
When Elyndra thought of that, she informed Ainsworth about it, and he also couldn’t help but affirm the plausibility of Elyndra’s plan.
In the end, Ainsworth merely commented, "If you want, then I can let you borrow my power, and then the two of us can easily win the throne succession trial. No matter what, if you borrow my power, you’ll be stronger than any of the imperial guardians."
"However, I don’t suggest being so fixated on winning the throne succession trial. In the end, the Valtoria Empire doesn’t possess any True God powerhouses, as well as divine artifacts."
"With the speed of our progress, the next Otherworld Mission might allow us to become True Gods. Or even if that’s not possible, the Otherworld Mission after that should suffice."
In response to Ainsworth’s comment, Elyndra sighed, "Of course, I know that. But if I successfully become the Valtoria Empire’s Empress, it will provide a boost to my Rulership Energy stat attribute. It will definitely reach SSS+ and therefore, allow me to temporarily possess the power of an SSS-rank Awakener without borrowing your power."
As the Crown Princess, Elyndra naturally knew the contents of the imperial treasury, so while she coveted it, it wasn’t to the point that it would truly move her.
What she valued was the boost she could get after incorporating the Valtoria Empire into one of the empires under her reign.
Her royal sisters were only fixated on winning the throne succession trial merely because none of them possessed the talent and potential to become an SSS-rank Awakener, let alone becoming a True God.
In Elyndra’s case, she no longer coveted the imperial throne for its authority or resources. The former was useless to her, as she would spend most of her time with Ainsworth in the Otherworld, while the latter, though valuable, was easy to relinquish.
At most, she only planned to win the throne succession trial and become the Empress legitimately, then let a loyal subordinate manage the empire on her behalf. That way, she wouldn’t waste too much time and effort on it, yet still obtain the Rulership Energy she needed for it to reach SSS+ rank stat attribute.
Knowing about Elyndra’s SSS-rank Tyrannical Ruler class, Ainsworth no longer dissuaded her as he shrugged, "With our power, we can easily win the throne succession trial, so it can wait. We still haven’t gone on a date, and I haven’t even met your parents or declared our relationship."
"Moreover, as a newly promoted Five-Star SSS-rank Awakener, I also have to visit the Awakener Association. My actions of exterminating the Sterling Family had already spread throughout the upper echelons."
"The Archmagister Supreme Lucien Arkvale owed me a favor, so he’ll assist me in cleaning up that mess. He has also witnessed me defeating those Demon Kings, so that will be a good record for my tenure as an SSS-rank Awakener."
Elyndra didn’t refuse as she knew that Ainsworth wanted to announce his presence throughout the world and publicize his achievements so that it would be a lot easier for her to win the succession trial.
Since they planned to win the throne succession trial, they knew half measures wouldn’t do. If they were in, they would commit fully, leaving no room for failure.
With that in mind, Ainsworth and Elyndra decided to return to Earth.
Snapping his fingers, Ainsworth used Ultimate Freedom (SSS) to clean Elyndra and himself, then created suitable and elegant attire for both of them. Since it was created by him, those outfits even possessed attributes and skills no worse than an SS-rank artifact.
Doing so had wasted his mana, yet a simple use of World Master Authority to plunder the Monster World’s mana and convert it into his own was all it took to recover it to 100%.
After doing all of those preparations, Ainsworth extended his hand to Elyndra, which she reciprocated by holding his hand.
Performing Freedom of Movement (SSS), Ainsworth teleported himself and Elyndra to Earth, leaving the Monster World.
...
Appearing above Edenbridge High, Ainsworth and Elyndra looked down and observed the scene below.
The school staff had already handled the aftermath of yesterday’s otherworld invasion. The battle between SSS-rank Awakeners and Demon Lords had been resolved, and Ainsworth noticed Principal Magnus Ironhart, now an SSS-rank Awakener, recognizing his arrival.
As Magnus came out to welcome them, he prepared to ask about Ainsworth’s Otherworld Mission, only to realize that even he could no longer gauge Ainsworth’s power.
Confused, Magnus stepped forward and asked, "Have you already become an SSS-rank Awakener? Were you the mysterious Awakener who defeated Monster Lord Skarnax and saved Edenbridge City?"
