Chapter 6: The Older Sister Wearing A Blindfold

The school has ended, and Ainsworth's time there was uneventful, aside from receiving the system and obtaining those two god-level choice rewards.

Aside from those two earlier choice events, he didn't trigger any more events.

Ainsworth didn't even encounter Mira since Rian later found out that Caspian's lackeys spread the rumor of Mira returning from her business trip.

Like Mira and Elyndra, Caspian was also absent from school so his lackeys were making trouble to mess with Rian, Dante, and him.

In the end, Rian paid for his and Dante's lunch and Rian even vowed that he would awaken an SS-rank Class and step on that braindead young master!

...

Leaving the school campus, Ainsworth took a taxi and arrived home.

There wasn't anything special with his home since it was as average as a middle-class family's home. The only difference was that most of the rooms were empty since almost all of his family had died except for his older sister.

Pressing the doorbell, Ainsworth waited for a while, until a few seconds later, the door opened which revealed the interior of his home as well as his older sister standing in front of the doorway.

His older sister, Kyla Arthurford, was wearing her indoor pajamas as usual. Her long, waist-length black hair was combed neatly and looked as delicate as silk. Looking at her chest, she had a big heart and her body was as good as a model's, curvy and mature.

However, what stood out most was that his twenty-two-year-old sister was wearing a white-colored blindfold. Despite that, she still looked beautiful.

Looking at his sister's white blindfold, Ainsworth couldn't accept that she had become blind.

After all, a couple of hours ago, before he got transmigrated, he still remembered Kyla smiling at him, with her beautiful obsidian-colored eyes shining underneath the golden sunlight.

'This parallel world is too much. My peers' background got improved, yet mine got nerfed.'

Despite his frustration, Ainsworth didn't show it. Instead, he smiled and greeted his sister, "I'm home."

His sister smiled, "Welcome back, I've made you lunch."

Kyla might have lost her light, but she didn't lose her smile and didn't want her brother to be depressed at what happened to her and their family.

She walked inside the house, prompting Ainsworth to enter their home and close the door, following her to the dining room.

Looking at the table filled with his favorite dishes, Ainsworth looked at his sister, and remembering what happened to her, tears trickled down his amber-colored eyes, "Sis, you really don't have to."

"I'm a functioning and capable man, I will look after you. I will take care of the two of us. Please just rest and let me do all the work."

In response to his plea, Kyla shook her head, "I might be disabled, but don't forget I'm not weak. When I was in my prime, I was an S-rank Awakener and I had destroyed a country in the Otherworld."

Noticing that the mood was getting low, Kyla cheered up, "And besides, Ains, tomorrow is your big day."

"I prepared your favorite foods to celebrate your Awakening Ceremony in advance."

Kyla sat on the chair near the dining table and Ainsworth followed suit.

Looking at the dishes prepared by his sister, Ainsworth was moved, "Thanks sis."

Picking up his utensils, Ainsworth looked at the slightly burnt fried chicken but still ate it.

Sensing that her brother was eating the dishes she cooked, Kyla couldn't help but ask, "How does it taste?"

Tasting the burnt chicken skin, Ainsworth honestly replied, "It tastes below average. Sis, you're not cut out for cooking."

Kyla sighed, "I did my best. Only you, mother, and Mikaela knew how to cook."

Hearing his sister mention their younger sister who went missing, Ainsworth realized just how much he needed to do in this world just so that he could achieve a GOOD END.

Most people wanted to get isekai'd or transmigrate to another world. However, in his case, his past life was already perfect.

If everything went well, he'd propose to Elyndra after his net worth reached a billion dollars and then he'd live happily ever after.

He was satisfied with his past life, and he didn't even die. Yet he got transmigrated which was uncalled for.

If there was a god, he would have wanted to complain and say, "You got the wrong person. Give my transmigration quota to those who need it."

However, Ainsworth knew that what was done was done. His transmigration was something that he couldn't control so rather than brooding about it, he decided to do his best to lead this life to the right path.

...

After an hour had passed, Ainsworth had finished his lunch and was currently washing the dishes.

As much as he complained about his sister's lack of cooking skills, he still ate all of it. After all, those were the dishes Kyla prepared to congratulate him in advance for tomorrow's Unified Awakening Ceremony.

Due to his God-Level Cooking, he detected a lot of shortcomings in his sister's cooking so while he was eating, he had also lectured his sister on how to cook properly.

After he washed the dishes, Ainsworth looked at the living room and noticed his sister was meditating, sitting cross-legged in the air, levitating.

'According to her, although she had lost her sight, she could still detect her surroundings via mana and aura. She might not be as powerful as she was in her prime, but she was still strong.'

'With her power, she could still participate in Otherworld Missions but she didn't want to encounter that mysterious organization again so she decided to retire early.'

Looking at Kyla, Ainsworth swore in his heart, 'Don't worry, sis! I'll surely awaken an SSS-rank Class tomorrow and recover your eyes for you!'
