Chapter 28: Garou, the Honorable Warrior. (2)

Garou whistled, impressed.

"I have to admit I didn’t imagine you’d be so tough," the old man said, with some difficulty.

The surrounding terrain showed clear signs of battle; it had been an intense fight.

However, Garou had defeated his enemy.

The giant lay dead on the ground, his head had practically been torn from his neck.

Still, Garou hadn’t come out unscathed.

His left arm was unusable, he had several fractures, and most noticeably, a huge cut on his back.

It was curious, that cut crossed with an old scar.

Suddenly, the wound stopped bleeding.

Little by little the cut glowed golden, he was using prana to cauterize the wound.

"Another one for the collection," the old man said, referring to the fact that now, he would have two scars.

Ironically, both would have been caused by a giant’s axe.

The old man stroked his beard with his good arm while reflecting.

"Oh, I see I entertained myself too much, it seems they freed the crazy one."

Garou had used his staff as a catalyst to exert spiritual pressure on that woman, without needing to be present.

However, if someone knocked down the staff, the technique would undo itself. The old man clicked his tongue.

"And that’s why I wanted to get rid of the necromancer first."

Suddenly, green flames came out of the giant.

His body began to convulse, while dislocated joints repositioned themselves.

The giant began to rise while taking his head and reattaching it to his body.

A great roar came from Legran’s mouth, whose eyes now glowed a greenish tone.

"Oh, your intuition was good, it’s a shame it was useless," Skull commented as he arrived with them. "Clementine, wouldn’t you be more helpful catching the dogs that fled?"

The necromancer was accompanied by the armored woman, who Garou could deduce was Clementine.

"No! I have to kill that shitty old man," she complained, furious, which made Garou laugh.

"How funny, you can’t even resist my presence and now you want to kill me? How delusional."

"It’s true you’re not an easy opponent, but you must be exhausted after your fight against Legran, I don’t think you can afford to waste so much energy now," Skull said while crossing his arms.

"Heh, good point."

Garou nodded at the necromancer’s statement, it was true.

Still, he had gotten his way.

He could calculate that around 65% of his tribe had managed to flee.

It was very likely Freki was already with the girls and Freya, so both could escape and reunite with the rest of the tribe.

They would regroup in the forest, there they could think better.

If the situation required it, Freki could always return to the eastern continent with the tribe.

A journey with so many people wouldn’t be easy, but in the end, the old man was sure they would recover.

Then, the old man’s eyes opened wide. Something didn’t add up. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

His senses had developed enough to have a perception of the spiritual frequency of things in a fairly wide area.

However, he had just perceived something practically impossible, something senseless.

What was happening in the forest?
