"Has your father said anything more about himself after the change?"

Prin shook her head. "...No, he never really talked about it that much. But I did hear him murmur a few strange things."

Ferris sat back comfortably on his sofa, preparing to recall everything he knew. "Like?"

Prin opened her mouth and paused as if she was preparing to say a tongue twister. "Yor... yor-moon."

Jörmungandr? Ferris wasn't surprised, but he was more curious on why Yaromech would say it out loud.

"Jörmungandr," Ferris told her the correct pronunciation.

"Yeah, t-that one!" Prin raised her head. "I was curious about what it meant so I searched it online and found something."

Ferris listened closely, then tensed up.

Found something? She actually found something. He repeated the thought.

I guess that's bound to happen in the end, it's as I feared.

It's not like knights are the only ones that came to this world.

Ferris tried his best to ease his mind. Those serpent bastards ought to move on already. He secretly sneered.

After calming down, he regretted that Prin brought up such a topic so close to the hell he lived in his old world.

But then again, the reason why Ferris met his teacher was because of the prophecy.

And almost all of his time spent with him was as a knight.

"What did you find?" he leaned over closely, almost jumping out of his seat.

As a knight, this was his life's duty.

Prin leaned backwards, and blurted. "It's better if I just show you..."

...

Ferris, Prin, and along with Magpie entered a peculiar room that was turned into a giant evidence board, and in the center was a simple computer setup with a printer beside it.

"My father prohibited me from coming here, but since he's...

I can enter whenever I want." she quietly explained.

Magpie stood closely behind the two in silence, the walls filled with pictures and words intrigued her curiosity but she did not let it overwhelm her.

For Ferris, he suddenly had a wondrous feeling of nostalgia.

Even in my old life, this hasn't happened in quite a while. Ferris resisted the urge to smile and chuckle.

Prin noticed Ferris' strange attitude and couldn't help but look.

She noticed, was I that obvious? Ferris cleared his throat. "Your father's other name is Yaromech—sigh, I should've told you this sooner, forgive me."

Prin brightened her eyes, even if her theory was confirmed, it still felt surreal to experience. To learn of a transmigrator's old name certainly gave the feeling of obtaining forbidden knowledge.

She lightly twisted her feet on the ground and had an inexplicable urge to ask what that name meant but she waited for Ferris to tell her more about this man named Yaromech.

Damnit wait, I'm trying to remember. Ferris hurriedly recalled this situation in front of him.

"Yaromech was..."

Ferris paused and thought of the best words to describe him, it would've been a shame if he allowed his annoyances with him to be heard by his otherworldly daughter.

"A hero, a knight, a good man, and... my teacher." Ferris covered his mouth, for some reason he felt embarrassed when he admitted that last fact. Great job, you blew it—

"A teacher, your teacher?!" Prin suddenly got closer.

Too close... Ferris raised his hand a bit and said. "Y-yes, he was.

Yaromech, at least from when I first met him, he had a rather slow head and preferred nailing everything important in his room.

Usually, it was the best brothels he heard from other people, but he never had the chance to see them.

Well... back then when he got me as a student, he was a bit younger than my age right now, thankfully he matured in the end.

Other than brothels, he nailed his knightly duties and errands he needed to accomplish... he was rather lazy."

. . .

Did I just fucking say that out loud? Ferris noticed that he was too deep in his reminiscing a few seconds ago.

He controlled his facial muscles to the best of his abilities and turned his gaze to Prin.

She's dumbfounded, her reaction's not too bad... thank god. Ferris wiped his imaginary sweat as he was about to talk about Yaromech's much more heroic career as the leader of the knight order of Viking.

"In the end, he had too many duties to accomplish.

He never had the chance to properly live a good life.

I'm sure he regretted a lot of things."

Prin solemnly nodded, then suddenly asked. "How old was he when he died?"

Ferris found her question strange, if he were in her place, he wouldn't ask such a dark question. "I think he was around his 40s when he died."

"What about you?"

Me? Ferris hid his shock well and answered. "31."

Prin sighed but Ferris wasn't sure if it was out of relief or fear.

Could you at least feel bad that I died so young? Ferris thought but quickly stopped his assumptions. "I guess it was the same for me as well, the prophecy never gave us the chance to live peacefully."

"Prophecy?" Prin surprisingly raised her voice. "It's mentioned here, look."

She hurriedly walked to the other side of the room. There was a cluster of paper that was purposely separated from the rest.

Ferris assumed it was Yaromech's mumbling in this world, but when he stood beside Prin, he followed her arm to her finger and to the paper she was pointing at.

It was a torn piece of an old and weathered newspaper.

[Massacre within a town in City XXVI, more than 100 dead!]

He read the horrifying title then read the detailed information below.

There was a massacre at a remote town on the outskirts of City 26, police described a ritualistic-like event at the town center.

First witnesses described mutilated bodies around an altar... Ferris silently recited the words.

Prin looked over to Ferris, usually he looked calm most of the time and even serene at others. But now, she noticed that his expression had darkened considerably, even more so compared to the first time he saw her real face.

She removed her finger, and allowed Ferris to continue reading.

The altar was composed of dismembered body parts, conjoined to form the number 8.

Ferris opened his mouth as he read that, he then saw a blurry black-and-white photo that was attached.

Aside from the graphic depiction, he saw a stone mural.

I can't read it... Ferris furrowed his eyebrows, but he noticed a red string attached directly at the photo that led to another photo nearby.

This time, it was a high-definition colored photo.

Did Yaromech go to the scene himself? Ferris thought.

Judging by the new photo, the area was older, and the bodies were now nothing but skeletons.

The newspaper was published when the rise of villainy hadn't arrived, how come the police hadn't cleaned it up?

Was the time between City 26 being free and villain-controlled short?

They didn't have the time to clean it up? Let alone investigate?

Ferris had a surge of thoughts within him.

He then analyzed the picture more, the stone mural depicted symbols that were curly yet jagged, but it was still incomprehensible due to the weathering and moss build up.

Thankfully, there was another string that connected to the picture.

It showed a note that contained a written copy of the text on the mural.

There's no doubt about it, it's Yaromech's writing.

These symbols.

They're the demonic symbols used by worshippers of the world-eating serpent.

Prin continued watching, "I guess my father never knew the translation." she added.

No, you're wrong.

He didn't need to write a translation in the first place, he knew how to read it!

Those rats... Ferris had an inexplicable urge to dice the entire wall in front of him. "Prin, listen to me.

The people that wrote this are our world's enemies."

"Enemies? Do you know what the text says?" she asked.

"It's the honorific name for Jörmungandr."

{The world-eating serpent}

{The God more infinite than eternity}

{Jörmungandr, the end of cycles}

Ferris continued staring at the text for a few more seconds before Magpie noticed something.

"Dame Prin, Ferris' heart rate has exceeded 500 beats per minute, should I flood the room with anesthesia?"

Prin turned around when she heard the absurd number.

"No need." Ferris calmly said.

My body just instinctively reacted, the restrictions I placed just undid themselves.

Knowing that, Ferris felt a burning sensation within him. Judas?

Even though Judas wasn't in a state to speak, Ferris understood from the heat and intensity within him.

You're angry as well?
