SSS-Rank Talent: Super Upgrade System-Chapter 96: Transition Complete!
Chapter 96: Transition Complete!
The mountain cave, a silent sanctuary amidst the shrieking winds of the Taiji Basin, hummed with a profound, almost spiritual energy.
Daniel, having completed his own unprecedented Class Transition to a Night Ranger and forged his first S-Grade weapon, the Blade of The Night, felt a surge of satisfaction.
He was the perfect blend of hunter and killer, with razor-sharp skills.
But his journey to power was a solo path. His team, however, was a different story.
He watched Ayra and Lia, seated cross-legged on the rough stone floor, surrounded by their respective piles of shimmering Yin and Yang cards.
Their faces were serene, eyes closed in deep meditation as the energies of the Taiji Basin, drawn by the catalysts of the cards, swirled around them.
This was the moment of their own ascendance, a critical step in their development.
Daniel felt a deep, almost paternal satisfaction.
He had provided the resources, cleared the path, and now, they were poised to claim their own transformations.
He knew that their S-grade talents, coupled with the absurd number of cards he’d acquired from Ragnar, should result in powerful new classes.
"Don’t worry," Daniel murmured, more to himself than to his deeply focused teammates. "I’ve got your backs."
He moved with the quiet grace of his new Night Ranger class, slipping towards the cave entrance.
The Blade of The Night, nestled securely at his hip, hummed softly, a comforting presence.
He let his S-Grade [Aura Sense+] extend outwards, a silent, vigilant perimeter against the shrieking wind and the unseen dangers of the mountain pass.
Nothing was getting past him. Not on his watch.
Inside the cave, the visual phenomena accompanying the Class Transitions were brief but intensely powerful.
Lia’s transformation began first, marked by a soft, pure white light that emanated from her, gradually swirling into a gentle, emerald aura.
The air around her filled with a calming hum, a serene energy that made the very dust motes in the cave seem to dance with peace.
She appeared almost otherworldly, her figure becoming subtly more refined and graced with deeper elegance.
Daniel could almost sense the deep roots of her [Lifeweave Affinity] talent drawing upon the very essence of life within the Yin and Yang energies, blossoming into something truly divine.
It was a beautiful display of immense power being refined.
Ayra’s transformation, however, was a different spectacle altogether.
It began with a furious, crackling red light that pulsed from her, rapidly intensifying to a blazing crimson inferno.
The ground beneath her trembled violently, the very air in the cave seeming to groan under the pressure.
Sounds of grinding stone and raw, primal energy, like a mountain being forged anew, resonated from her.
Her muscles visibly rippled and hardened, her skin seeming to take on a subtle, stony texture.
It was a raw, untamed display of power, a testament to her S-Grade [Primal Fury Berserker] talent.
Daniel watched them closely, eyes narrowed and alert for any interference. He was satisfied.
Their power was growing exponentially. He knew, with an almost scientific certainty, that they would emerge from this crucible profoundly changed, far more formidable than before.
After what felt like a timeless eternity, but was likely only ten minutes, the light and fury from their transformations began to recede. A calm, humming silence settled over the cave once more.
Ayra was the first to stir, groaning faintly. She stretched, her powerful body rippling with newfound energy.
She immediately clenched her fists, testing her new limits. A small, almost imperceptible shockwave erupted from her knuckles.
"Hah! Finally!" Ayra declared, her voice deeper, more resonant than before.
She pushed herself up, a wide, ecstatic grin splitting her face. "I feel... unbreakable!
Her eyes, still blazing with a hint of crimson, swept over herself.
"This! This is what I’m talking about! My [Primal Fury Berserker] feels like it’s roaring louder than ever! I am a... a Rock Pugilist!"
She flexed, her muscles visibly larger, the faint stony texture on her skin more pronounced.
"Unbreakable defense, bone-shattering punches! Yes!
This is my kind of fighting! How many cards did you use, Lia? I used a few more than you, so I bet I’m even tougher!"
Ayra’s sheer enthusiasm was palpable, almost contagious.
Lia, by contrast, rose with serene grace, her emerald aura now a constant, gentle glow around her.
She looked utterly refreshed, radiant. Her grey eyes, clear and calm, held a new depth of compassion and power.
Her A-Grade Staff of the World Ash pulsed in sync with her new aura.
"It is truly... transformative," Lia murmured, her voice soft and melodious, like a gentle breeze.
"My [Lifeweave Affinity] feels boundless. I can sense the subtle flow of vital energies across a greater distance, and my connection to the very essence of life is profound."
She gestured with her staff, and a delicate shower of golden-green light rained down, making a wilting cave moss blossom instantly.
"I am a Holy Priest." She then glanced at Ayra, a small, knowing smile touching her lips.
"I used twenty-five Yin cards and twenty-five Yang cards, Ayra. A balanced approach, as is my nature."
Ayra looked momentarily stunned. "Twenty-five? That’s it? I used... well, a lot more than that! Are you saying my Rock Pugilist is less cool because you’re a balanced priest?"
She pouted, though her newfound power was too exhilarating to maintain it for long.
Daniel chuckled. "Congratulations to both of you," he said, stepping into the main cave.
"Ayra, your Rock Pugilist class sounds like it’ll turn you into a living battering ram with a personal force field.
And Lia, a Holy Priest with your A-Grade healing, that’s incredibly vital. Our team’s resilience just went through the roof."
He then looked at his own internal Nexus display, a slight frown touching his brow.
He’d used one hundred and two Yin cards and forty-two Yang cards for his own Night Ranger class transition.
A massive amount. He’d also heard whispers of his Night Ranger class being a unique hybrid during the transition.
But looking at Ayra’s rare "Rock Pugilist" and Lia’s powerful "Holy Priest," which seemed to be a more established but still high-tier class, he was genuinely puzzled.
Why did I need so many more cards?
Daniel mused internally. Ayra got a rare class, arguably as specialized as my Night Ranger, but used far fewer.
Lia, with a very powerful, high-tier class, used just fifty.
Did my SSS-Talent demand more resources for its unique fusion? Or was my Night Ranger class secretly even rarer or more powerful than I initially thought, beyond just a unique hybrid?
He ran through the calculations again in his mind, considering the theoretical energy costs of class fusions.
It didn’t add up. It felt like his SSS-Talent, [Soul Assimilation], was either incredibly greedy for resources, or it was doing something so profound and complex with his class that it simply required a disproportionate amount of essence.
The exact mechanics of SSS-Talent fusion and resource allocation were still a profound mystery, a delicious puzzle for later exploration.
But the outcome, a truly overpowered Night Ranger, was undeniably worth it.
He decided to put it out of his mind for now.
The sheer scale of his power, combined with his teammates’, was all that mattered.
"Alright," Daniel announced, shaking his head slightly, a small chuckle escaping him.
"This cave smells faintly of burnt rock and divine grace now, which is definitely an improvement over the swamp outside. We’ve done well."
Ayra, still testing the limits of her new body by subtly flexing her muscles until the cave walls groaned, suddenly looked alarmed.
"Vance, don’t tell me your super-duper talent is asking for more cards just because mine didn’t use up all the ones you got from Ragnar!
I swear, if you’re trying to hoard them all, I’ll punch you!"
Daniel just laughed, a deep, satisfied sound. "Relax, Ayra.
We still have plenty of cards left over, more than enough to activate the exit portal when we’re ready.
Don’t worry, we’re not going to break the Academy’s bank account with our extravagance."
He then turned to Lia, a serious look on his face. "Lia, you still have the last Golden Sun-Kissed Fruit, correct? I’d advise you to consume it.
Your A-Grade healing and new Holy Priest class could receive another profound boost.
We’re about to face something truly formidable, and we’ll need every advantage."
This would be awesome!
