Chapter 99: Battle Of The gods! Pt 2
The Leviathan, a creature of myth and nightmare made flesh, did not deem it fit to answer with a simple roar.
Its response was a cataclysm!
Its huge mouth, big enough to swallow the mountain cave they had rested in, opened wide.
A swirling vortex of superheated water and raw Yang-region energy gathered within, compressing into a focused point of terrifying power.
This was its [Hydro Cannon], a liquid battering ram designed not just to kill, but to erase.
"Boom!"
The sound of the attack launching was a deafening explosion that ripped through the valley.
The wind shrieked and howled, violently displaced by the focused tsunami that tore through the air.
The ground trembled, as if the very fabric of the world recoiled from the unleashed power. But Daniel was already gone!
He had activated a whisper of his S-Grade [Hyper-Sonic Phantom Step], his form becoming a flicker of distorted reality.
He didn’t even need to use its full power; his base Agility, now ludicrously high, was enough. He took a single, casual step to the side.
"WHOOSH!"
The Hydro Cannon tore past him, leaving a deep, molten trench in the ground where he had been standing a mere microsecond before.
The sand and rock in the trench sizzled and turned to glass from the intense heat.
From the treeline, Ayra and Lia could only stare in horror at the devastating power, a power that would have vaporized them instantly.
"Ranged attacks aren’t going to work," Daniel thought, his mind processing the situation with ice-cold clarity.
He drew his new S-Grade Flying Cloud Mystic Bow. The weapon hummed in his hand, a perfect conduit for his immense power.
He nocked a phantom arrow formed from pure energy by the bow’s [Elemental Condensation] ability, imbuing it with a chaotic mix of fire, frost, and lightning.
"Twang-KRA-KOW!"
The arrow screamed through the air, a miniature elemental storm. It slammed into the Leviathan’s obsidian-black scales.
The resulting explosion was impressive, a multi-colored flash that sent sparks flying, but the arrow barely scratched the surface.
The Leviathan shook its massive head, more annoyed than injured, like a giant swatting a fly.
The bow was powerful, but against a beast of this scale and with such absolute defenses, it was a distraction at best. He needed to get personal.
He let the bow dematerialize, his hands now free, clad in their A-Grade gauntlets and wraps.
The Leviathan, infuriated by his insolence, attacked again.
This time, it was a physical blow. Its colossal, armored tail, a weapon of mass destruction in its own right, swept across the shore.
The attack was a hurricane of motion. The wind shrieked, tearing trees from their roots.
The ground trembled, cracking under the immense force. Daniel activated his hyper-sonic speed again, intending to dodge. But the tail was too wide, too fast.
It covered the entire shoreline in a single, devastating sweep. There was nowhere to run.
"Boom!"
He couldn’t dodge. He had to block. He crossed his arms in front of his chest, activating a sliver of his S-Grade [Earthquake Colossus Form] to anchor himself, his muscles hardening like granite.
The tail slammed into him. The sound of the impact was like two mountains colliding.
Daniel felt a sickening crunch as bones in his arms and ribs protested, then shattered under the overwhelming force.
He was sent flying like a cannonball, tumbling end over end through the air before crashing into the shattered treeline with a final, brutal impact that knocked the breath from his lungs.

"Daniel!" Lia’s voice was a sharp cry of alarm. She saw him crumpled in the wreckage, blood trickling from his mouth.
Without a second’s hesitation, she began to channel her power, her A-Grade Staff of the World Ash glowing with a desperate, brilliant emerald light. "[Ray of Divine Mending]!"
A pure, concentrated beam of life energy shot across the battlefield and enveloped Daniel.
The warmth was instantaneous, a stark contrast to the sharp agony racking his body.
He could feel the nanites in his system, spurred on by Lia’s potent healing, working frantically.
Bones began to knit with audible clicks, torn muscle rewove itself, and the fire in his lungs subsided.
It wasn’t a full heal, the damage was too severe for even her A-grade skill to fix instantly, but it was enough. It got him back on his feet.
He staggered up, taking a ragged breath.
The Leviathan was already lumbering towards him, its massive feet making the ground tremble with each step, ready to finish the job.
He was still heavily injured, his movements sluggish.
"Ayra! Keep it busy! Just for a second!" Daniel yelled, his voice hoarse.
Ayra, who had been watching in horrified paralysis, roared in fury. "You got it, Vance!"
She activated her [Tyrant’s Mantle] and charged, not at the Leviathan’s head, but at its massive, tree-trunk-sized leg, her great-axe a crimson blur.
"BOOM!"
Her axe slammed into the Leviathan’s ankle, a move of incredible bravery and suicidal foolishness.
The impact sent a jolt up her arms and barely even made the beast flinch, but it was enough.
The Leviathan, annoyed by the new gnat biting its leg, turned its massive head away from Daniel for a crucial instant.
That was all Daniel needed. He ignored his screaming nerves and activated his [Hyper-Sonic Phantom Step] one more time, not to dodge, but to attack.
He ran, a blur of motion, not away, but straight towards the charging monster.
He used its own forward momentum as a ramp, running up its colossal, scaled snout until he was once again standing between its furious, house-sized eyes. freewёbnoνel.com
The Leviathan roared, thrashing its head wildly, trying to dislodge the infuriating parasite.
The wind howled, threatening to tear him away. Daniel held on, his boots anchored, his S-Grade Blade of The Night appearing in his hand with a soft hiss.
He focused, channeling his B+-Grade [Savage Might+]. Power surged through his aching body. He raised his A-Grade Kinetic Void Gauntlet.
"Boom!"
He punched the Leviathan directly in its left eye. A shockwave of kinetic force exploded outwards.
The eye didn’t pop, protected by a thick, magical membrane, but the beast roared in pain, its head recoiling.
The ground shook from the force of its agony.
It retaliated instantly, letting loose its [Draconic Roar] point-blank.
The sonic force slammed into Daniel, a physical wave of pure, crushing power.
He felt his vision swim, his ears ringing, his already damaged ribs threatening to give way completely.
He clung on, his vision blurring, the world a chaotic symphony of pain, wind, and the Leviathan’s apocalyptic rage.
He had landed one good hit, but he was trapped, injured, and now facing the full, focused wrath of an enraged god-beast.
This was the true test, and he was failing
