SSS Ranked Awakening: All My Skills Are at Level 100-Chapter 105: The Heist Begins (2)
Chapter 105: The Heist Begins (2)
Leon stood hugging her for quite a while, as she seemed to be a bit emotional right now. After the hug ended, he bid his farewell to her.
"Seraphine, make sure to use the dimensional space to the limit, and train as much as you want."
She nodded at his words, knowing she wasn’t going to miss out on training. She had less time in there compared to him, and over time, he was only going to become even stronger. She at least had to stay strong and not slack off in her training. Besides, training wasn’t a task to her—it was something she genuinely enjoyed. He didn’t need to remind her of it, but she still appreciated his care a lot.
Leon left the Time Dimension, leaving Seraphine behind to train inside.
He was now standing just outside the towering walls of the Royal Palace. He could have easily climbed up—but why would he, when he had a far better and more silent way to sneak in?
His spatial awareness extended fifty meters in all directions and was always active. He could clearly visualize everything behind the walls—where a safe place to teleport would be. The walls were three meters thick, but that meant nothing to him. Within a fifty-meter radius, he could teleport anywhere he wished.
His mastery over the spatial element had grown significantly compared to before. While he still wasn’t able to comprehend Level 1 Spatial Aura, he could feel it wasn’t far off.
Portals weren’t something he could create even now, yet his mastery over teleportation had reached a very high level. And that wasn’t all—he had learned a few more deadly ways to use the spatial element beyond Spatial Freeze and Spatial Distortion, which he had previously known.
Leon teleported just near the wall, still invisible. He could see the guards around the area—wearing lightweight brownish armor, carrying arrows atop the wall, with swords and spears as they patrolled both above and below the perimeter.
There were also countless giant crossbows mounted on top of the defensive wall.
He hadn’t even reached the palace itself, yet he could already count a hundred guards.
All of them were Awakeners, not ordinary people. But it didn’t matter to him. Weak was still weak.
Leon quickly moved closer to the Royal Palace while making sure no one could see or sense his presence.
It had looked grand from a distance, but as he reached closer, it became an even more extraordinary sight to behold.
The Royal Palace stood tall at the heart of the city, gleaming with smooth white stone that caught and reflected the sunlight. Its towers rose high into the sky, each crowned with a flag bearing the royal crest. Thick fortified walls enclosed the palace, and the grand front gates were guarded by soldiers in shining armor.
From the outside, the place looked calm—but powerful.
Wide stairs led up to the main entrance, with pristine gardens surrounding the space. Statues of former kings stood beside the entrance, their stone gazes fixed ahead like watchful sentinels. It didn’t look like a place meant for ordinary people—it looked like it belonged to someone who stood far above the rest.
He climbed up the stairs while remaining invisible, making no sound and leaving no scent behind. A guard stood just a meter away from him.
Leon teleported again, entering through the front gate, officially stepping inside the palace. The guards in their shining armor stood unaware—completely oblivious that someone had already infiltrated the palace.
Once inside, Leon again marveled at the beauty of the palace. As he moved carefully through the halls, he noted how vast and majestic the place was.
Inside, the palace felt quiet and heavy—like the walls themselves were holding their breath. The stone floors were smooth and polished, so clean you could see your reflection. High ceilings could cause even the softest step to echo, but his wind element left no sound behind. Paintings and ancient banners lined the corridors—each one depicting kings, wars, or moments that clearly carried meaning. Though Leon suspected most people simply passed them by.
Guards stood motionless beside every major doorway. Servants moved quickly but cautiously, their steps careful, as if noise itself was forbidden. The entire place felt like it had been designed more for display than for comfort.
But none of them were aware of his presence.
His spatial awareness guided him as he moved through the palace, scanning for inconsistencies in the structure—any sign of secret passages or underground vaults.
His hopes had reached the sky multiple times, especially when he discovered his first secret passage—one that connected to an underground route leading somewhere into the city.
He found more than a dozen such passages throughout the palace—hidden in different rooms, tucked away in hallways, and even concealed within the bath chambers. But frustratingly, all of them led outside—to various parts of the city. Some led to shops, some to private houses, others to alleyways, and one led into the underground sewer system.
But it wasn’t pointless. One of the passages that led to the sewers gave him the answer to one of his lingering questions.
There, he had seen people—not one or two, but hundreds.
Their bodies were dried like twigs, faces sunken, dirt covering every inch of skin, their appearances completely disheveled. They wore torn, barely-there clothes—if any. Seeing them, Leon felt that even the life of a beggar in Greyridge was countless times better than this.
These people looked like literal zombies. A few among them were already dead, and the living ones weren’t much better off.
He took the liberty of exploring more aboveground. Eventually, he found the slum areas of Hemsburg. Their condition wasn’t much different from those living underground.
All of this was hidden beneath the glamorous light of the glorious city known as Hemsburg. None of those people even attempted to enter the city. One look at their hollow, dead eyes told him why. It was as if they had lost the will to even try. Perhaps they had once tried and learned the outcome the hard way.
Greyridge may have been lawless—but no one there lived in such inhuman conditions. People would steal, rob, and fight to survive—that was the norm in Greyridge.
It might be called lawless, but Leon preferred Greyridge’s dirty air over these hidden corners of Hemsburg, where the stench of death and hopelessness suffocated everything.
