Chapter 66: Journey to become commando
Leon looked around. Everything looked the same as he had left it, even the small mountain was destroyed as he had done so. He didn’t understand how his consciousness only entered, but the mountain was destroyed. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Was it truly only his conscience or something else?
He didn’t think he would get an answer for it right now, so he moved his focus to the thing that was different from before.
Here wasn’t anything like the outside. The mana here felt abundant. He walked in it like finding the shade of a tree from scorching heat. He felt refreshed and rejuvenated.
The mana he had lost was recovering faster than ever. Usually, it would take him fifteen minutes to recover his mana fully, but now he felt he could do so in only five minutes.
At first, he had thought, how can he recover so much of his mana so fast, even in the outside world? He had 1000+ mana, and it took him only fifteen minutes.
The information regarding this is mentioned in Lin Fang’s journey was quite simple. The rate at which a person would recover depended mainly on the rank of affinity of the element a person had. In case a person had a rank 5 affinity, he would recover his mana faster than someone with a rank 4 affinity.
But if the person had more than one affinity, their recovery speed would increase even more.
He was delighted to know this fact. For someone like him, who had an affinity for every element with massive rank 7 affinity, he didn’t even know how many elements in total there really were, but he could count more than ten.
So his quick recovery was justifiable. It seemed in the outside world, because of a lack of mana in the atmosphere, his recovery took much longer, but in here, it had gone from fifteen to five—a massive jump.
But there are other ways to increase the recovery speed, too, but they are rare because of how guarded these techniques are by powerful organizations, sects, kingdoms, empires, and individuals.
Lin Fang was only able to get his hands on an uncommon-ranked mana recovery technique during his journey, which was also not a technique of a high-ranked sect.
Leon could understand why mana recovery techniques are so guarded. It would define the outcome of the battle, giving one with the technique a massive advantage.
’But I don’t think I have to worry about these mana recovery techniques any time soon.’
The thought of trying to absorb the mana from the atmosphere didn’t even enter his mind, as it was like poison to one’s body, because of its unrefined form. It was common knowledge that Seraphine had told him before even awakening.
Despite the techniques, the most important thing was one’s affinity, which gave them the natural advantage, and he had all the advantage he could get.
Only after waiting for a few minutes, his mana had recovered fully. He didn’t think he had to worry about mana recovery here.

He had around 291 days to train before he had to go for dinner. He would have started with the space element, but he had decided to go with the life element for today, because of his fight with his lovely master the next day.
He would continue practicing space elements tomorrow.
He started by trying to imagine life in his head about life. It was connected to vitality, the thing that keeps life going...
Despite that, it took half an hour to manifest the first strand of life element. Even space element took less than that, whose reason he might guess was because of coming in contact with portals and experiencing it firsthand. His inventory connected to his soul was also made out of a space element.
But for the life element, he had never seen anyone use it and experience it himself.
After the first manifestation, it got much easier.
For the practice, he took out the corpses of smaller wolves, which were in much better shape than others, because in the first few fights, he only used precise strikes to kill, unlike after merging with the orb, when he just blasted them to pieces.
The corpse was still fresh.
He practiced by making small cuts and healed the cuts using his life energy created by mana.
Time started to pass quickly.
----
3 months have passed by like nothing.
During his time, he had to sleep and eat like every other human.
The time he had to practice was much less, but the progress he was making was more than twice as fast, too, by which he understood that the environment here had something to do with that.
For the food, he had to thank his spoon of infinite soup, which produced a balanced, nutritious, delicious soup. The taste grew repetitive over time, but it never tasted bad. He enjoyed the soup.
He did try to cook up a piece of monster using the fire he had created using his magic. There wasn’t any seasoning, so he tried to mix it with the soup and eat it, but it was horrible. He didn’t even swallow it and spat it out because of how bad it was.
The meat wasn’t that burned, he could differentiate it between a piece of charcoal and meat he cooked for himself, so he understood it had something to do with the meat itself. After that day, he was content with his delicious soup every day.
There wasn’t much to experiment with, simple elements, as life for him. His aim was to reach at least the stage when he would regrow limbs.
The progress was much smoother than he had expected. As his control over the life energy increased, the cost of the mana decreased, and even his healing speed increased.
But the reason for the stop was something unexpected he hadn’t thought about.
In just three months, the clothes he was wearing had become too tight for him to wear, which shouldn’t be normal.
He had to take his clothes off because of it, and he was only in his underwear right now, which he had made sure the material used was elastic, because the last time in the dungeon, it was tight.
Very tight.
Inside the dungeon, every step feels like his underwear’s trying to start a civil war down there.
But his accustomance to brutal pain held his will firm even in that crisis.
Still, his choice was clear; he didn’t want to experience that feeling ever again.
