SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows-Chapter 194: Inos Crimson
Aren rushed at the priest. The priest turned around and used his hands, blasting Aren with a powerful gust of wind, but Aren was prepared this time. He used his tendrils to twist and create a tunnel; the wind hit it with a blast, but it was incapable of reaching Aren.
Instantly, his eyes scanned for the next best move. His shadow sense picked up everything around him. There was nothing that he could really do to get closer to the priest except take it head-on, so that was what he did.
"Brat, why can’t you just stand down, huh?" the priest roared in anger. The liquid poured from its mouths and started turning into something else.
Aren thought it would be another human, but rather it formed into a twelve-foot-tall, one-eyed, hunched Cyclops.
"Roaaaaaarr!" it roared, thick saliva blasting into the air. Its teeth were inches long; a single bite would surely kill someone.
But that wasn’t the most worrisome part of this monster. It was the magic circle engraved on the chest. It glowed purple and was sending some sort of energy through the body of the monster, as if it was charging it up.
The Cyclops rushed ahead, its foot slamming into the marble and leaving deep prints. It leapt into the air, locked its hands together, and swung down.
"Screw this, I’m tired," Aren muttered. He didn’t even bother trying to dodge. He simply activated the true form of his armor and then coated himself with Shadow armor.
Then he punched into the air, his fist moving as fast as a bullet. It slammed into the attack of the Cyclops. The force behind Aren was so explosive that it instantly shattered the hands of the monster.
BOOM
SPLAT
Blood and body parts fell to the ground as the monster staggered backward.
The circle on its chest started glowing and the arm was getting regrown. Aren frowned. "That’s not happening." He said and then charged ahead, covering the distance instantly. He unleashed a terrifying punch to the head of the monster, shattering the skull.
BOOM
The head instantly tried to grow back. Aren landed on the ground and then bolted again. This time he leapt into the air, spun and kicked right in the chest, shattering all the monster’s ribs. The monster was thrown back. It slammed into the door with a loud bang.
The priest was stunned. He looked at Aren with pure disbelief. "How? How is this possible? You are a new awakened. I am far above your level," the priest yelled, but Aren paid no heed to him, focusing on the Cyclops.
"Let’s see how far your healing can go." As he said that, he immediately began unleashing Shadow Blade after Shadow Blade, each one ripping into the Cyclops, tearing it apart faster than the healing could handle.
It got to a point that the healing system inside the Cyclops was crisscrossed due to trying to heal everything. Whenever it gave priority to the greatest wound, Aren could attack another side and make the wound even greater.
The magical healing circle could no longer take the load and self-destructed, destroying the Cyclops entirely in a blast.
Aren then turned to look at the priest. "Honestly, I’ve never done this before, but your power set is really amazing, and I’d also love to see your memories, so when I kill you, I’ll consume you whole," Aren said, his eyes glowing red.
"Huh?" The priest was stunned by the statement. He frowned and took a step back. "Step away from me. You can’t stop me from doing the work that I was called for. The dragon must be risen," the priest said.
"And how do you intend to do it? I’ve already caught up with you. Your little mutations are being handled," Raze stated.
"Hahah, hahahaha." The priest suddenly burst into maniacal laughter, his veins bulging, his hands spread wide. He looked at Aren with a grin that sent chills down his spine.
After a bit of laughter like a madman, he stopped and then looked at Aren calmly. "Do you know who was the architect behind this tomb?" he asked.
"Uhm, why would I know that?" Aren asked.
"He was the brother of the War God, a fighter forgotten in the annals of time due to the fact that his brother overshadowed him. He was the greatest creator awakened, with his pure ability to create whatever he could imagine, and it would exist even after he was gone.
His name was Inos Crimson, or better known as the Great Architect. At first he was close with the War God as brothers. He was the support that aided the War God. Even in the battle against Geisha, Inos was the one that evacuated the city single-handedly and also changed the terrain to ensure that the War God won.
He supported and fought along. He was the reason that Geisha could not leave the city during the battle. But when the curtains closed and Geisha fell, his brother was raised as the hero and he was a footnote, forgotten.
That was when Inos understood that when a man attains the power of gods, they begin to see themselves as gods and forget where they came from. Inos knew at that moment that not everyone should gain power, only a few who were destined and worthy, to ensure that everyone had their true spotlight.
So he created the tomb, but also created the Church of the Architect, the place which I serve, which believes in balance and the will of true gods. Inos crafted this tomb with a plan in mind.
Geisha, our master, the leader of the revolution to greatness, will rise again, and he’ll soar the skies and do whatever he couldn’t before, create balance in destruction.
This tomb is built in a way that every blood spilled is instantly transported right to the heart of Geisha, and every soul is captured by the room and fed to Geisha."
When Aren heard this, the realization hit him hard.
