Chapter 233: Versus Lizardman part 2

Riker slashed down on the lizardman, but it immediately retaliated, attacking with a blast. Riker ran into the attack but was thrown back as well. He landed on the ground and skidded back a few meters.

Aren also recovered from being tossed. He locked eyes with the lizardman.

’This monster is definitely an evolved monster, but it is still stronger than Riker, which means it’s a higher-level evolved monster. Tch, meeting something like this here isn’t really the best thing now.’ Aren thought as he scanned the monster with his eyes.

The lizardman noticed that Aren was also looking at him and scanning it, so it decided to attack first and stop Aren. Its back feet kicked off the ground extremely fast, and at the same time it dropped down into a full four-feet run, bolting forward extremely fast.

"Riker, be cautious." Aren said as they watched it approach, not knowing what attack it was coming with.

When the lizardman was in range, it sprang from the ground into the air, spun around, and then used its tail for the attack, going right for Aren, but Riker stepped in at the right moment and blocked the attack.

"Master, now." Riker said, and immediately Aren came forward, his eyes locked with that of the lizardman who was still midair.

Without hesitation, Aren launched forward, throwing a clean punch straight into the lizardman’s chest.

Bam.

The impact sent the creature flying backward. It slammed into the ground, rolled, then caught itself on all fours before rising upright again. Its cold eyes locked onto Aren, who was already charging again, with Riker right behind him.

The lizardman opened its mouth and fired another energy blast.

The beam tore through the air.

Aren leaped high, dodging it cleanly, while Riker veered to the side, narrowly avoiding the attack as well.

From his angle, Riker hurled his sword at full speed. The weapon spun violently toward the lizardman’s head.

Forced to react, the creature snapped its mouth shut and used its tail to block the incoming blade.

But that moment of distraction was enough.

Aren descended from above, his fist wrapped in pure lightning.

He punched.

The lizardman twisted away at the last second. Aren’s fist slammed into the ground instead, detonating a massive crater and shockwave that forced the creature backward and knocked Riker’s sword loose.

Aren caught the blade midair without looking and tossed it behind him. Riker caught it cleanly, leaped upward, and brought it down in a powerful slash.

The lizardman sprang aside. The blade cleaved straight through a tree instead. Before Riker could recover, the creature spun and lashed its tail toward him, but shadow tendrils erupted from the ground.

They wrapped around the lizardman’s legs and yanked it down. Aren surged in at the same time, driving a knee straight into its face.

The blow snapped its head back. He followed immediately with a massive burst of lightning that electrocuted the creature and sent it tumbling across the battlefield.

It rolled to a stop, then slowly pushed itself back to its feet.

Aren and Riker stood side by side.

Aren pointed at it.

"You might be stronger on your own," he said coldly, "but against the two of us, there’s no way you can win."

He charged again.

Lightning crackled around his legs as he leaped high and came down with a devastating kick.

The lizardman tilted its head upward, preparing to fire a blast, but Riker came from the side, swinging for its neck.

The creature had no choice but to cancel its attack and dodge the blade. It twisted away, then countered instantly, its tail whipping around and slamming into Riker’s chest.

Riker was sent flying into a tree with a heavy crash.

At that exact moment, Aren came down.

He missed the creature directly, but his lightning-charged landing exploded beside it, blasting the lizardman high into the air.

Knowing it would be vulnerable midair, the creature spun and stabbed its tail into the ground, anchoring itself and halting its momentum.

It straightened and immediately fired another blast.

Aren couldn’t fully evade in time.

The beam struck him and hurled him through multiple trees, obliterating them on impact.

Riker charged in again from the side.

He slashed downward, but the lizardman blocked with its tail. In the same motion, it shot its arm forward and grabbed Riker by the torso, holding him in place.

Its mouth began to glow, point-blank blast charging.

Before it could fire,

Aren appeared from the side and delivered a brutal kick to its face.

The force twisted the creature’s head nearly one hundred eighty degrees. The blast fired wildly into the forest, ripping through trees instead.

The lizardman crashed to the ground.

Aren flipped and landed lightly.

The lizardman propped itself up and retaliated with a sweeping tail attack. Both Aren and Riker leaped backward to avoid it.

It spun again, releasing another wide sweeping blast.

They jumped into the air to dodge.

But the lizardman wasn’t finished.

It abruptly stopped the sweep and fired a concentrated blast straight at Aren midair.

It had chosen its moment carefully.

There was no easy way to dodge while airborne.

Aren crossed his arms in front of him, activating his Wolf Guard.

The blast struck his forearms and sent him crashing into a tree.

Riker seized the opportunity.

He rushed in and slashed down hard at the distracted lizardman.

This time, the creature couldn’t block.

The sword bit deep into its shoulder.

Dark blood erupted, pouring out like a fountain as the lizardman dropped to one knee.

But even wounded, it wasn’t finished.

With a sudden surge, it swept Riker’s legs out from under him with its tail, and in the same motion, slammed the heavy tail down onto his chest.

Riker was pinned down. The lizardman believed it had won this, but then lightning shot through the air, the size of a human, and slammed right into its chest, throwing it back into trees
