SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows-Chapter 282: Everyone Dead
After the announcer was done, Lucy walked away, her head bowed, despite brooding. Number one, she still did manage to please her mother.
The scene soon shifted once again, and it was one of Lucy sitting beside Slithers. She was far from the rest of the other students that sat together and watched, all seemingly waiting for someone to walk into the training grounds.
Her eyes told that she wanted to be close. She wanted to sit beside them and have the talks that they were all having, but she could not. Her mother would never allow that.
If she wanted to be an angel that could serve the gods the best, she had to pull away from every distraction and focus.
Aren could see her pain through the eyes of the snake, but beyond that pain, he could see rejection, anger, someone that was sick of a system.
’She is hurting inside, I can tell’
The memories flowed faster after that, and before Aren knew it, he was looking at something else. Lucy was on her way to her first world along with Slithers in order to start the trials for that world.
Due to how high up her mother was, she was the one directing the first ever trial for that world as a whole.
Lucy stood on a mountain overlooking this entire world, knowing that this entire civilization would enter a phase that would completely change their lives.
She was reluctant to do this, her heart grew heavier with every given moment, but as an angel she had to carry out her task no matter what. She had to ensure that she carried out the trial properly.
Aren watched everything that was happening and couldn’t help but feel pity for her.
He kept watching the memories as the snake watched her handle the trial of this world, but after that, she slowly fell into depression. She couldn’t stomach the destruction that she had been bringing on their world.
A long time passed and soon she could no longer handle it. Lucy rebelled. Aren watched as she did that, speaking up against their system and everything that the angels stood for.
This alone got her arrested and set for trial, a trial that her very own mother handled. During the time of the trial, the snake couldn’t be with her and was kept far, so it had no idea what happened in the trial.
All the snake knew was that long after, a high-ranking angel walked to it and informed it that if it wanted to ensure that his master was safe, he would have to live in the mountain and ensure that no being alive killed or touched her, because if she was released from her binds, she would be killed.
Soon after that, the memory ended. Aren was ejected from the mind and his eyes opened where he had been standing.
He stood there for a few seconds, not moving even a muscle.
A lot of things were tumbling through his mind at this very moment.
"She was sentenced by her own mother, she became a fallen angel because she rejected their setting.
She isn’t the bad person here, she is a victim, a victim of their setting," Aren said to himself, the look in his eyes changed, the kind of look you had when you realized something was wrong and you had to stop it.
"I have to stop them from killing her," Aren said. He didn’t care about what the trial had to say, he was not going to allow the death of someone that saved many lives by refusing to continue their game.
He summoned a wyvern as fast as possible, but even that alone caused him to cough up blood. He was still very low on soul energy, but regardless, he wasn’t going to allow that to stop him.
He pulled himself onto the back of the wyvern and immediately took to the air. He shot through the air as fast as he could, scanning the mountain below. He saw many awakened there all over the mountain still facing monsters and trying to get to the top, but he did not see his group.
’They must have made it to the top at this point’
He flew even faster and finally made it to the top. Not allowing the wyvern to land, he leaped off the back and landed on the ground in a superhero pose, then he bolted forward.
He moved so fast that he turned into a blur, entering the statue and rushing up the stairs, and when he made it to the bridge, he expected to see them standing with the fallen angel about to kill her, but instead what Aren saw instantly broke his reality.
A figure was standing right there, decked in full black and gold armor. A man, he had flowing gold hair and blue eyes, gripping a great sword in his hands, and the blade dripped with blood.
He had three pairs of wings, all black like the same wings that the fallen angel had. But all these were not what broke Aren, no, it was what he was looking at.
His entire group were lying on the ground. Aiden carried a massive gash in his chest, from which blood was still gushing out. His entire body had turned pale, his life was leaving him.
Kira was stabbed through the chest. She seemed to be barely awake and struggling. Elena was slashed down the back and bleeding out. Zero and Athena were on the ground, both stabbed and bleeding out.
What made it worse was the fact that there was not a single sign of a battle happening, like he had completely dominated each of them and ensured he took them down completely.
Aren stood there frozen. The air became hard to breathe, his hands trembled, his heart slammed into his rib cage so hard that it hurt, he didn’t know what was happening at all.
"Oh? Another one? I thought that was all for now. Well, time to handle it," the angel said in a calm voice.
