Standing Next To You-Chapter 63: Taking Responsibility
Chapter 63: Taking Responsibility
Bei Sangyun put the phone in her pocket. "I’ll borrow this for a while."
"W-what about us, boss? We promise to redeem ourselves, so can you please let us go?"
Bei Sangyun gazed at them. That gaze made the big bully abruptly close his mouth.
"This punishment is not enough for you. You—" Bei Sangyun turned to the leader of her lackeys, "Make sure they stay here kneeling until the last bell rings. If they ever ignore my warning, you can break their legs."
The people shuddered at her ruthless order.
"Also, I will send instructions on how to deal with them. I will leave it to you."
As for how to deal with them, Bei Sangyun would just pay them back as to how they bullied Fei Chuan.
The people on the ground paled. They pleaded and cried out to be forgiven, but Bei Sangyun’s deadly gaze silenced them again.
"Boss, the people you sent earlier just messaged me. They don’t know your contact number, so they contacted me instead. They said the treatment is almost done, and he is about to leave the clinic."
Bei Sangyun nodded and was about to leave. But she paused and looked back at the people kneeling on the ground.
"Brace yourselves. Not only will you receive my punishment, but in the future, if you are still on Fei Chuan’s bad side, you will be doomed. Because he is just as ruthless as me."

"Fortunately, your leg wasn’t broken. However, you will have some trouble walking for a few days. Don’t strain your legs. The other wounds on your body will also heal in a week. Just make sure to apply some ointment every day."
The doctor glanced at Fei Chuan. He hesitated for a moment before finally advising, "How about you stay in the clinic and get some rest? You can stay here until your class ends."
"No need," Fei Chuan replied as he stood up and prepared to leave.
"Hey, student," the doctor awkwardly scratched his head. "Living like this is hard, right? How about you take a step back for once? There’s no use in fighting against the whole school. Just endure it until you graduate. There’s less than a year left before graduation."
Fei Chuan simply bowed and left the school clinic.
Endure?
Ha. He had been enduring since day one, but they were not leaving him alone. As long as that person regarded him as a thorn in the eye, he would never find peace in this place.
Should he transfer?
No. That was not an option. As the doctor said, there’s only less than a year left before graduation. If he transferred now, those people from the Fei family would make trouble out of the situation.
He would not mind it if it was just him who would be in trouble, but the people who were on his side, including Grandma Pei, would also have to suffer as well.
He had no choice but to silently endure this.
Fei Chuan limped out of the clinic’s building, but two students suddenly blocked his way.
He immediately took his stance. The earlier kidnapping had really traumatized him.
"Ehem. Fei Chuan, why don’t you take some rest in the clinic?"
"Right. Take some rest. If you are worried about the next class, we will help you get an excuse from the teacher."
The two smiled awkwardly at Fei Chuan which made him even more suspicious.
Fei Chuan narrowed his eyes. What did these people want now?
Was she behind this?
He looked around, but they were the only people in this area. There was no sign of her.
"Get out of my way," Fei Chuan said darkly.
"We are not blocking your way. We are just advising you to take some rest. Isn’t it more comfortable to lie down in bed than to remain seated in a boring class? The teacher will understand your circumstances."
"I said. Get. Out. Of. My. Way."
The two students paused at Fei Chuan’s chilling tone. His eyes under that long bang were dangerously cold, which reminded them of the tyrant. Surprisingly, they had the same vibe.
They unconsciously stepped back and let him go.
One of them snapped from his daze and nudged the other student beside him.
"That Fei Chuan... he can actually be scary, huh?"
"W-who is scared? I am not scared! I am just taken aback!"
The other student pointed at the other student’s sweating forehead, exposing his lie. "You are sweating. Anyway, we couldn’t stop him. We tried to detain him here until the tyrant arrives, but... he is so stubborn."
"Just text them. I’m glad we don’t have the tyrant’s number. Otherwise, I don’t know how to explain this to her."
Their conversation faded as Fei Chuan left the building. He wasn’t going to stay in the clinic since everyone would know he was there. What if those bullies showed up again for round two?
It was really dangerous earlier, and he didn’t want to repeat that.
Fei Chuan looked down at his bandaged hand.
He couldn’t go home looking like this, either. Otherwise, Grandma Pei might faint. But he didn’t want to go back to his room. Where could he stay?
"Fei Chuan," a familiar voice called out behind him.
Fei Chuan’s heart skipped a beat. His eyes darkened, and he clenched his hand.
Did she follow him all the way here?
He didn’t slow down and continued his pace.
Footsteps followed after him.
He quickened his pace, gritting his teeth.
"Hey, Fei Chuan! Don’t run!"
But Fei Chuan ran as he grunted.
"Hey, damn it! I’m not chasing after you, so please stop! I just want to talk to you!"
Fei Chuan paused. He looked back and saw that their distance was indeed quite far now. She really had stopped running.
But he didn’t believe she came here just to talk. He looked around but found no one.
Where were her underlings?
Bei Sangyun suddenly threw something at his feet.
"It’s the keys to the gym. Everything you need is in there."
Fei Chuan did not pick it up and squinted at Bei Sangyun. "I’m not a fool to volunteer myself for another beating."
"Can you trust me just this once? I didn’t send those bullies after you, nor did I intend for you to end up like this."
Trust?
Fei Chuan heard another ridiculous thing from her. He scoffed and turned around, showing no intention of picking up the keys.
Bei Sangyun sighed in frustration.
She wasn’t really good at coaxing people, but she couldn’t let Fei Chuan continue like this and let the misunderstanding grow. Especially now that she had figured most of it out.
Perhaps with other people, she would turn a blind eye and let things take their course. But the victim was Fei Chuan, and the known culprit was her.
She had to take responsibility, at least for now.
As for the mastermind, she would settle the score later.
"You don’t want to go home looking like this, right? Grandma Pei will be heartbroken if she sees you like this."
Fei Chuan’s steps paused. His eyes darkened. He snapped, turned around, and approached Bei Sangyun.
He pulled on the collar of her blazer. "Is this because of what happened in the village? Are you taking revenge for what happened back then?"
