Star Gate-Chapter 1608: The Embryos of a Myriad Worlds (III)
A shadow began to materialize over the supernatural character—Li Hao. It wasn’t a replica, just a strand of intent. It began to cultivate, to breathe. It took in the strength of the chaos and the river.
“The breathing method of a myriad daos!” Such was the new name that he bestowed to this method. It originated from the secret method of the Five Styles, but it was no longer just the Five Styles anymore.
He was going to cultivate the myriad of daos! Although the breathing method wasn’t yet perfect, he’d decided that all daos was going to utilize this breathing method. They would breathe in unison and the same frequency.
A hotly ambitious thought entered Li Hao’s mind as they breathed—I’m gonna devour even the chaos one day!
That was a wild daydream, of course.
The fire character began to breathe and take in the river’s strength. A beam of golden light shot out from Li Hao’s eyes and a myriad of daos appeared within the river, flowing to the two sides like river currents. He was going to fully connect the supernatural characters and the river together.
A tail appeared on the fire character. It swept through the muddied river, searching for the fire dao that had been incorporated into it.
Two kinds of strength with the same origin met in the river. They collided with a loud roar and shook the waters. A small tail appeared over the water surface, hanging off to one side.
The fire character was connected to the river. It expanded furiously as it absorbed the strength within the waters, like it wanted to become an immense fatty. This was also the result that Li Hao wanted.
He was going to turn this supernatural character into a world. Even if it wasn’t a world, it would become a kind of domain!
These domains would ultimately connect with each other and piece together the wall of the river. In reality, they were cells. He would build a real world barrier outside these domains and isolate the chaos from his creations. That was Li Hao’s current plan.
“People!” A new thought struck Li Hao.
The river was the blood vessel and the waters the blood. The worlds of supernatural characters were the cells. He would create one more barrier separating them. It rather seemed like he was creating a person now—albeit his creations hadn’t reached such heights yet.
This was just a river, but it somehow did feel like he was creating a person. He’d created bodies for many people before this and was exceedingly familiar with it. Now that he thought about it, what was the difference between the human body and the river?
Li Hao set those thoughts aside and began swiftly constructing his creation.
The ‘fire’ character expanded endlessly, forming a domain of fire that squeezed itself out of the river. After a long while, the river seemed to collapse and a small hole appeared with a loud roar.
The power of a myriad daos surged toward that hole. Of them, the strength of fire was the richest. The strength of other daos also flowed toward the ‘fire’ character domain. Li Hao darted inside it, weaving it together in a simple fashion with the power that flowed toward him.
Fire was the principal, but the strength within the river was a motley array and it would breathe and swallow the power of the chaos in the future. For the moment, he needed to add another procedure to the fire domain, one that was a simple knitting of the myriad daos.
The focus would be fire, all other daos were supplemental.
This was a method that was very time consuming and exhausting. It was a good thing that Li Hao had once entered dao chess and spent a month learning from the Sword Sovereign on how to dig holes. Added to that his past experience wielding Silver Moon’s dao universe and his own organization of the river... it meant that this experimentation ran like clockwork.
After an indeterminable period of time, the mess of myriad daos within the fire domain enveloped the void like a massive net. There was still a portion that Li Hao didn’t bring into the net, however. His comprehension of the myriad daos fell a little short. This was just a simplified version of the net.
“Not bad!” Li Hao was satisfied by his results. He smiled at the foundation he’d laid. When it came to the rest of the convoluted collection of strength, he needed more understanding of dao methods before gradually making them part of his tapestry.
The current fire domain was absolutely not the final version. This was just a first draft!
Even so, Li Hao was very satisfied with it. It wasn’t a large domain, just one with a diameter two thousand meters across. Even so, that was enough. Size didn’t matter on the first attempt. It was enough to prove that his ideas were possible.
Li Hao shoved a large sum of dao crystals into his river; it wasn’t strong enough yet. Simply taking in energy from the chaos wasn’t reliable. The power of the chaos was too disorderly and the young man lacked the ability to organize the entire chaos.
Although his first little world was ugly beyond belief, it was complete. The young man was overjoyed. In the tiny world domain, the power of fire held the predominant role. If it did become a major world in the future, this would be a world of fire dao. And if life formed in it... then it would incredulously become a real world.
Li Hao lost himself in fantasy. If my dao can become a world... then I myself am the chaos! the river I command will become the chaos universe.
A new thought occurred to him with a start. Is this... what the chaos actually is?
He didn’t dare pursue that thought further, he couldn’t pursue that thought further! Li Hao shook his head, wanting to put it out of mind. He focused on the first world that he’d created, smiling with gratification. So what if it was very disorderly at present?
With that first success, Li Hao began experimenting once more.
He turned more dao stars into supernatural characters, then minor worlds. The worlds connected to the river and began to deplete the surging strength of great dao within. The dao crystals that he’d collected before began diminishing at an immense pace.
The minor worlds stuck out over the river like tumors—jarring to the eye because they were not perfected. Number Two had been watching all this while and was rather put out by the sight.
It was a;; so ugly!
The river had been long and straight before, but now it looked like it oozed pus everywhere.
The cat wasn’t the only one watching, the three other sword spirits were also looking. They weren’t too sure of what they saw, just that it seemed impressive. The trio watched very carefully—no one disturbed Li Hao.
There were large and small domains. The large ones were two thousand meters in diameter, whereas the small ones could fit only three to five people. Those were... even less than even a manure pit.
The size of the domain represented Li Hao’s understanding of this dao. The bigger it was, the deeper the understanding. The smaller, the more shallow his understanding.
Number Two began to understand what was taking place; impressed amazement dawned in its eyes.
If Li Hao really followed this path, the road ahead would be very difficult. He needed to properly comprehend a myriad of daos and turn them into a myriad of worlds. He could no longer gloss over things and just focus on a few daos.
If he did that, then the difference between his worlds would be massive. Some wouldn’t even form domains.
The young man already possessed life and death, emptiness and revitalization, as well as time... Number Two didn’t know whether Li Hao wanted to grow stronger or was just enjoying the process of growing stronger. In this regard, it would be very tough for him to reach seventh rank even when he became a sixth rank.
Seventh rank might truly require the collection of a myriad worlds.
Li Hao created world after world, trying to display a variety of minor worlds. He didn’t care about the pull of this endeavor on his energy; his strength didn’t increase either. The only thing that changed was a drastic drop in his resource levels.
The millions of dao crystals that he’d been allotted were quickly gone. There were still dao foundation crystals in his reserves, but they didn’t contain much energy. They mostly centered on dao comprehension.
The river was a complete eyesore after a round of modification. The two riverbanks, or rather, the entire area around the river was populated with bumps that sparkled with different energy. The waters no longer flowed as smoothly as they did before either. Part of it was cut off here, another part cut off there. A portion of a myriad daos flowed into the minor worlds.
In fact, the river was starting to stutter and dry up.
When Number Two saw Li Hao take a break, it floated up to the young man and regarded the river below with resignation. “Not only are your modifications ugly, but the river itself isn’t flowing well anymore. The various minor worlds absorb different energy and dao strength. It’s too much of a strain on the river.”
Li Hao nodded. It was indeed drying up. The main reason was that he was too weak and couldn’t incorporate boundless chaos energy into the river to satisfy the minor worlds. This wouldn’t be too hard to resolve if he was stronger.
If he had a wide and deep river with extremely concentrated power of dao, would he need to worry about the domains pulling from the river?
Not at all!
“It’s just because the dao in the minor worlds isn’t perfect yet,” said Li Hao. “When I complete them, the worlds will be able to draw directly from the chaos and convert the energy themselves. That will resolve all the issues!
“But now, there’s different degrees of emphasis on the minor worlds, resulting in them absorbing different types of energy. That’s what is causing the changes in the river.”
More than three hundred dao stars had become minor worlds of varying sizes. The cat looked up, at where a final star remained. It was the star combined of life and death, as well as emptiness and revitalization. Li Hao had not turned it into a world domain.
“Are you going to transform that one too?”
“No... that one will be the main world. It just needs to be part of the river. If I can cultivate time in the future, that star will be the star of time and meld into the river to command it!”
“Have you grown stronger?”
“No.” Li Hao shook his head, drawing a yeow from the cat. The young man had consumed an enormous amount of resources. Millions of dao crystals were gone—the equivalent of several minor worlds. Li Hao had devoured them all, but showed no improvement for it.
Not even the rich second generation Void could stand up to this level of spend!
“Strength is only secondary,” Li Hao smiled. “The key is, I have clearer thoughts of my own path after these attempts. Consuming some resources to perfect my own dao is the way and true harvest!”
The Firmament Sword suddenly floated out of the waters; the young man looked at it.
“I’m going to place the river into the sword so that it no longer appears in front of people. That way, no one will be able to determine the veracity of my river! Firmament Sword, are you willing to bear my river?”
The sword trembled, displaying a faint light of its spirit. It was willing, but it was an imperial weapon in the end. Strictly speaking, it was of the second rank, whereas Li Hao’s river was a fourth rank creation.
It might not be able to endure being the vessel.
