Star Gate-Chapter 1619: A Little Taste of One’s Skills (III)

The massive rat squeaked with agony when another loud collision rang out. Numerous heads had been chopped off; it would be grievously injured after this battle even if it survived it.

“Stop!” A female third rank broke through the air. Her expression was coldly aloof and she summoned a wave of Red Moon power without a second word, directing it at Li Hao...

It wasn’t strong since she didn’t mean to kill people. She just wanted to display Red Moon power and tell Li Hao that they were exalted emperors from Red Moon!

All exalted emperors active in the Red Moon Region would be familiar with the eighth rank major world, Red Moon!

She was sending a surge of strength that even first rank exalted emperors could withstand, so it was just a warning shot.

“Do me a favor and cease fire...” The third rank wanted to announce her terms while intimidating Li Hao.

The young man didn’t say anything until the Red Moon power was upon his face. “How dare you attack an Orchid Forest protector!” he shouted righteously. “You court death!”

The third rank stopped in her tracks. Are you blind?? Can you not tell that this is Red Moon power?!

A streak of sword light lit up the skies, as if flames immolating the world. The young man had unsheathed the longsword on his back in a flash of fiery light.

Bam!

The void shattered to pieces!

The world split apart, returning to silence. A black hole appeared as the third rank was sliced into two. Her dao mark of a red moon was also visible; her baffled face could be seen within it.

Sword light flashed again as flames incinerated the sky.

Kaboom!

The red moon exploded to be devoured by the longsword, like the weapon was alive. The red moon vanished in a split second and the world was quiet again.

In the distance, the fourth rank Red Moon exalted emperor didn’t notice at first. When he turned his attention to the other barrier crack again... he was shocked beyond words.

What’d just happened?

Was she... dead?

A third rank Red Moon exalted emperor had been killed with one sword stroke!

How was that possible?

“It’s not possible!!”

Voices exclaimed in shared disbelief around the world. This wandering cultivator had killed a major world exalted emperor with one blow??

He was so strong!

He was so bold!

Did he not know that was a Red Moon exalted emperor?!

The world master likewise blinked. So... the wandering cultivators really had killed a Red Moon exalted emperor? What was... going on with that one?

The Orchid Forest master didn’t know how to react. Even powerhouses from other major worlds shouldn't kill a Red Moon exalted emperor so easily. Not unless... they were the New Martial exalted emperor?

The Sword Sovereign?

Well, their leader is a swordsman, after all...

A variety of thoughts popped into the world master’s mind and he furrowed his brows. Was this the New Martial Sword Sovereign? Surely... not?

His jaw dropped from the possibility.

This would be a thorny situation if it was indeed the Sword Sovereign. It was said that the death of Red Moon’s Exalted Clarity Emperor had something to do with that one. Could the young man be the Sword Sovereign?

He’d killed a major world third rank with one blow!

In reality, Li Hao really had only utilized the strength of a third rank with that momentary eruption. But his strength had been very targeted. His opponent had been caught off guard as well, which was why they’d fallen to one blow.

It was a rare sight indeed to see the outcome be determined with one move in a fight between exalted emperors of the same level.

All of Orchid Forest was dumbfounded by what had taken place. Who dared kill a Red Moon exalted emperor on these premises?? Even the Orchid Forest locals were flabbergasted. Where did this guy get his courage from?

Although the world master had said that a demonstration of their strength would result in Red Moon treating them with greater importance, they still went weak at the knees with the thought of an eighth rank.

And yet, someone truly had dared strike a killing blow!

In the void.

The three beasts were likewise at a loss. During this momentary lapse, Celestial Pole outright ripped the rat spirit to pieces. The man raised an eyebrow and looked at Li Hao, puzzled by the young man’s actions.

Li Hao could indeed kill a third rank with one stroke... but... the Sword Sovereign has just killed Clarity and now you’re obviously presenting yourself as a swordsman. Aren’t you worried that Red Moon will suspect you’re the Sword Sovereign in disguise if you’re being this high profile?

He didn’t understand it, but didn’t want to use his brain cells to get to the bottom of it. It was too tiring to think about these things.

“Number three...”

Everyone fully let loose after Li Hao killed an exalted emperor; no one held anything back, including the newly surrendered three. They’d been worried about their future before, but since Li Hao had just killed someone from Red Moon, what were they concerned about?

Battle was joined again!

The three exalted emperors were easy targets with so many exalted emperors arrayed against them!

It took only the blink of an eye, as well as many angry shouts and wails of agony before Gold Cow and Dog Head followed the footsteps of the rat spirit. The world quaked as their great daos snapped!

Four exalted emperors had died in a heartbeat. Ripples in the void could be felt as the Red Moon fourth rank appeared as well. He was fuming!

How dare someone in Orchid Forest kill a Red Moon exalted emperor?!

Li Hao wasn’t the least bit afraid when he looked at the man. He was a fourth rank himself—even if he wasn’t, there were so many exalted emperors here that a fourth rank would not be taking him down.

“What, does this exalted emperor wish to intervene in Orchid Forest affairs?” boomed the young man. “Orchid Forest is executing these disorderly elements of society within its borders. Do you wish to seek revenge for them?”

“You!” The Red Moon exalted emperor glared frostily at Li Hao, a sharp glint in his eyes! This young man was crazy!

He was also... a swordsman. Did he have something to do with New Martial?

The Red Moon fourth rank hesitated for a moment.

Li Hao looked down below, seeing Heaven Rite hiding in the shadows. He stared at the hesitant man, eventually prompting him out of the gloom.

Heaven Rite approached the group, first looking at Li Hao, then at the Red Moon exalted emperor.

“What is going on here?” He squeezed out a small smile. “All of you are from off world. Please do not come to blows within Orchid Forest territory...”

“Exalted Heaven Rite Emperor, we are carrying out Orchid Forest’s orders to retrieve the barrier cracks,” Li Hao glowered. “Have we done anything wrong in executing brazen invaders and safeguarding Orchid Forest?”

“Ah... of course not,” stammered Heaven Rite. Holy hell, I thought you guys were all talk, but you really did it!

It’s one thing to do it, but to kill even a Red Moon exalted emperor... are you guys crazy??

Also, you’re a swordsman...

“You are a swordsman?” said the Red Moon exalted emperor before Heaven Rite had a chance to say anything. “I have never heard of such a powerful swordsman in Red Moon Region. Only New Martial possesses a strong swordsman. Myriad Dao, are you a New Martial fanatic?”

Exalted emperors stirred with shock in all corners of the land!

“What, are you trying to frame me?” Li Hao burst out laughing. “Are you trying to pin the death of the Orchid Forest dao master on me just because the New Martial Human King killed him? This attention is just because the person I killed has something to do with you!”

“Do you know where you are?” The Red Moon exalted emperor drew himself up majestically. “No matter where we are, New Martial is our enemy—our joint enemy! New Martial is the source of disorder in Red Moon Region. If you are from New Martial, you should be executed!

“The Orchid Forest master of dao died in New Martial’s hands. Every Orchid Forest exalted emperor should seek vengeance for their dao master and kill New Martial curs!”

“Am I supposed to be related to New Martial just because I use the sword?” sneered Li Hao. “How ludicrous!”

The Red Moon exalted emperor wouldn’t give up the line of reasoning. It was too much of a coincidence that Li Hao used the sword as well, they had to think twice about it.

“Exalted Heaven Rite Emperor, are you aware of this man’s background?” He turned to a new target. “He casually kills exalted emperors and incites conflict between Orchid Forest and others. He falsely borrows Orchid Forest’s name in these matters. I suspect that he is the New Martial Sword Sovereign, here to stoke hostilities between Orchid Forest and the rest of us!”

Heaven Rite wasn’t certain of the truth and subconsciously moved away from Li Hao. This was indeed something to worry about. The Sword Sovereign!

That was a premier exalted emperor and nearly invincible among the ranks beneath high rank! He was a terrifying fellow.

“You suspect me?” Li Hao furrowed his brows at Heaven Rite’s hesitation. “Senior Heaven Rite, you suspect me for an outsider, one who has invaded Orchid Forest?”

“......” Well, now that you put it that way...

“How would I ever!” Heaven Rite laughed dryly. “It’s just that there has been great upheaval in Red Moon Region lately, so I was thinking... I’m thinking...”

“Do you have any evidence?” Li Hao sniffed at the Red Moon exalted emperor. “I’m a New Martial fanatic just because you say so. How about you? I say you’re the New Martial Exalted Blood Emperor! Your dao strength is the color of red, which is what that Exalted Blood Emperor supposedly wields as well...”

Bullshit! The Red Moon exalted emperor frowned deeply. His suspicions were rooted in logic, this guy was firing back with nonsense. He looked at Li Hao’s group, then at Heaven Rite.

“We’ll know if he’s the Sword Sovereign or not with a simple probe! You cannot conceal a dao origin. Granted, it’ll be hard for us to investigate him if he’s the Sword Sovereign. Why don’t we have the Orchid Forest world master personally test this person!

“All of us are gathered here to stand against New Martial. If he really is from New Martial... then the Orchid Forest world master has sufficient reason and responsibility to probe his real identity!”

“Dao origin?” Li Hao repeated coolly. “You want to inspect my dao origin?”

“And why not?” sneered the Red Moon exalted emperor. “It’s not me, but the Orchid Forest world master who will be doing so!”

He was killing two birds with one stone!
