Star Gate-Chapter 1633: The Most Romantic Thing (I)
“The energy contained within Orchid Forest might not be enough because Li Changsheng is much stronger than the typical sixth rank, do you understand?”
Li Hao nodded, suddenly realizing that the cat knew a lot. He couldn’t help but ask, “Senior Number Two, how much stronger will I need to be before I enter fifth rank?”
The cat looked at him, then at the river. “You’ve only coalesced three hundred and sixty small worlds, but none of them are strong. Your fire domain is not bad and shows signs of becoming a minor world. Once all of the other worlds are at that level... that should be enough to make you a fifth rank?”
“......” Li Hao was speechless. There was nothing he could do but wait, then. There would be a long wait involved. One had to know that he’d invested a large sum of dao crystals to strengthen the world of fire. His grasp of fire also ran much deeper than other great daos.
That was how he’d elevated his domain of fire to such heights.
“Fifth rank... is so hard!”
It was the cat’s turn to be speechless. Was fifth rank hard?
No!
You’re the one who made it so hard.
If Li Hao truly set foot into fifth rank, he could likely rival sixth ranks through sheer force!
The young man enjoyed truly massive amounts of fortune and resources. A fourth rank could only dream of living in such abundance. If he’d dedicated himself to breaking through and been an exalted emperor of one dao, such as the one of fire, he might already be a fifth rank.
He might even be very close to sixth rank!
One should not bite off more than they could chew, that was the long and short of it. There was nothing to be done since Li Hao wanted more.
“Absorb that world force and enter the world as well to study it,” the cat couldn’t be bothered to say anything else. “See how to substitute one thing for another and move the rules of a mid world into your minor worlds. I will purify your river after I eat this fish!”
Li Hao brightened. The cat was truly willing to put in the effort!
While he was unaware of what the benefits of cleansing the river were, he could wait and see. There was certain to be something special that would develop after the river’s impurities were disposed.
The young man darted into the mid world and promptly sensed the expansion of space. It was cavernous!
The world was immense, but also resided into a... still state. Emptiness?
Indeed, worlds that could be used to transact had not been destroyed, they were just silenced. They could revitalize after they were refined. This was killing multiple birds with one stone!
Being a rich second gen, Void could absolutely purchase large sums of worlds and study them one by one. He could comprehend different types of emptiness and attempt to revive them. He wouldn’t need to take too much risk in this manner.
On the other hand, that might be too boring for the man.
Li Hao smirked. It was nice being rich! What a pity that Void didn’t treasure his opportunities and insisted on striking out for himself. If it was me, I’d love to sit back and live off the family wealth!
With that, Li Hao focused on the mid world. It was his first time attempting to fully integrate into a world that was not Silver Moon. He seemed to see a massive net around the world—the dao rules!
A variety of dao strength unfurled in an orderly fashion in front of him. Although it had not formed a dao universe, a mid world was extremely stable.
This also represented that this kind of order was suitable for the blending and fusion of dao methods.
Li Hao immersed himself within them.
The dao rules of a mid world were as densely woven as a spiderweb. It was more tightly knitted than one of a minor world, which helped Li Hao understand that while he’d established many minor worlds, his worlds... were a rope with some threads hanging off of them. Perhaps they could just be considered a web?
Very barely considered a web, that was.
It wasn’t one, in the strictest sense of the word, just something with intersecting branches. Take the minor world of fire, for example. It centered on fire dao and happened to have some other random daos clinging to it that maintained the formation of that world.
There wasn’t too much order to it because Li Hao was hard pressed to organize it. He lacked sufficient knowledge and comprehension.
A real minor world was a complete net, but it was very sparse. The net was easily broken through and hard to catch fish with. A mid world was much more tightly knitted and could easily catch both large and small fish.
Li Hao was yet to lay eyes on a major world’s net. Perhaps it was dual-layer instead of single-layer and tightly interwoven with the dao universe. It enwrapped the world, both inside and out.
A mid world was just so on the surface, but empty inside.
That made it short of a filtration layer and rendered it unable to process the dao strength within the chaos. It permitted a large quantity of impurities into the mid world, making it so that a mid world could only cultivate the scattered dao of the chaos.
“I see...” Having taken a clear look at a mid world’s web of dao, Li Hao suddenly understood what a dao universe was.
It was a piece of filtration paper!
Strength from the chaos seeped into the worlds. Regular mid and minor worlds could not sift out the impurities, but dao universes could. That was the core nature of a dao universe.
The birth of a dao universe came from cultivation, continual comprehension, and unending fortification. It was the expansion of a mid world’s net and a constant closing of the gaps until it became a unique second world!
Li Hao had known this concept to begin with, but not in such clear detail. Today, everything sharpened into focus. He completely knew what the dao universe was.
“It’s a protection layer for the world, a defensive coating, a filter. It’s also a closed-off space formed by the net of great dao!” The young man’s eyes darted around. That meant to say that the world and dao universe resided in the same space.
No wonder they could be ripped through.
He’d felt that the two existed in different dimensions, but that viewpoint was turned on its head today. They were actually in the same dimension, but on different planes. No wonder the chaos universe was a massive existence of space!
Everything was born in the chaos, whether the dao universes or worlds. That was because the two were of the same dimension!
“I understand!” Li Hao was quite surprised about learning this. He’d once controlled dao universes and a world. Now he’d observed the structure of a minor world and that of a mid world’s dao.
As for a major world... Both Skyward and Orchid Forest were major worlds. While he’d yet to receive an opportunity to observe them closely, he could deduce what the dao framework of these worlds might look like.
The web of a major world was fully part of its dao universe, so all of a major world’s dao was within its dao universe and not without.
A world with a dao universe... could render its dao inaccessible if one did not join the dao universe. It was a similar case to Silver Moon. If one did not join the Silver Moon great dao, one could not complete their cultivation. Cultivation entailed opening dao meridians and lighting the dao stars.
If one simply wished for better physique, then opening dao meridians were not necessary. There would be no need to join the dao universe then. But someone like that would not make it far in a major world, or a world with a dao universe.
If one could not partake of even the mottled dao in the chaos, where could one go for enlightenment of dao?
The only other option was to enter the chaos itself to cultivate.
Due to Li Hao’s prior knowledge and experience, all sorts of clarity surged into his mind after one instance of observation. It had no effect on his actual strength, but helped him reorient himself again.
So this was what a world was like!
So this was what the dao rules were like.
Li Hao liked to look three steps ahead when he took one step on the path of cultivation. He liked probing the way, then modifying his plans bit by bit. Following a plan was a pleasure to him, instead of taking things one step at a time.
Even if he took the wrong step, he would have time to correct his mistakes. But once he went down the wrong road in search of quick success, it would be impossible to turn around.
“Dao rules... dao overview... this is a critical step to forming a world!” Li Hao murmured to himself. He suddenly understood more about life!
The origin of a world!
What was the origin of a world? Why did it appear and how did it give birth to life?
Li Hao suddenly walked out of the world and set a foot into the void, wandering down the darkness. He made his way into a sealed space—there was something like a heart buried in the depths of the world!
It was beating and seemed to be alive!
The young man had seen many plant spirits in his time and absorbed endless life force and Water of Life from them. But when he set foot into this area, he realized how subpar Water of Life was!
The item like a heart created endless energy each time it beat. It even showed signs of wanting to create life!
However, the item was sealed at the same time. Such was the status of a compressed, silent world. Given enough time, a mid world such as this would give birth to new life and life forms, even if everything had gone extinct for the moment. It might take several tens of years, it might take several hundreds of thousands of years.
Number Two drifted over, having followed its nose.
The young man suddenly realized that it’d never seen the cat walk before. It was always floating, like a ghost. He sometimes wondered if it was too fat to walk, so it couldn’t be bothered and just floated along.
Such was the case in the river as well. Otherwise, within the river... Li Hao cast a glance at it. Those four stubby legs and fat body would make such a comedic sight swimming through the waters!
“And what are you looking a?t?” Number Two could see some things it didn’t like in the young man’s gaze. The look made it rather angry.
“Nothing much,” Li Hao coughed softly. “I’m just looking at this. Senior Number Two, is this the origin of the world?”
“Yes.” The cat nodded its ponderous head and gazed upon the heart-like object as well. “Are you curious how this came to be?”
“Yes!” Li Hao nodded. He was indeed intrigued about that. How did something like this come into existence?
