Chapter 1636: The Most Romantic Thing (IV)

“Huh?” Li Hao grunted with surprise and looked at the net of dao. Everyone noticed some changes in it.

Changes had taken place in the first dao to be born—the one of fire. The line that belonged to fire suddenly pierced through all of the other daos, running perpendicular to them. That dao was as if thread going through clothes, encircling all of the great daos, passing through them, and weaving them together...

Gradually, the sparse net began to grow denser.

After an indeterminate period of time, the net showed a massive transformation and the world seemed to ascend as well. It advanced from a desolate backwater to a minor world. This was when the dao of fire had traversed all of the great daos and woven it together, then reconnected with itself in the end!

A whole, complete net was in front of them!

Two humans and one cat gaped at it. Li Hao could read something within it; the look in his eyes changed rapidly. So the dao of fire... had pierced through all of the great daos and overlapped with a myriad of daos. That made this world one of fire.

So this was the case!

Boom!

Everything in front of them shattered and the net of dao disappeared. People couldn’t actually see the net. Li Hao could because he’d become part of this world and become its master.

“Did you see its order?” Li Hao looked at Lin Hongyu. “I’ll take you on a trip to dismantle it. After that, we can try reassembling it in my minor world of fire. We don’t necessarily have to follow its original order, but the logic is the same. How about we create my own world of fire?”

Lin Hongyu was highly excited and nodded rapidly. She was still reeling from what she’d just seen. There was a net of dao around the world and it could completely pass through all daos by itself! This notion had never occurred to her before!

When Li Hao waved his hand, a net of dao seemed to appear in the world!

Such a construct was formless and intangible, how could one deconstruct it?

And yet, the young man grunted and summoned a domain of fire, overlaying it on the net and forcing it to materialize. He grinned, crumbling dao crystals in his hand. That forced the silent dao net to appear in its entirety!

Dao crystals went up in flames by the bucketload!

Li Hao didn’t care. He soared into the sky, followed by Lin Hongyu. Number Two instinctively wanted to follow, but refrained after some thought.

How romantic was this!

For some reason, the cat found this development very romantic. The young man was bringing his fiancé to dismantle the world’s dao. This fit a cultivator’s personality very well!

It was a perfect match for a highly talented cultivator. Would one such as the New Martial Human King think of taking his wife to deconstruct a dao overview?

No! He’d blast through the world with one blow!

What a brute!

Number Two’s thoughts wandered to the self that it was projected from. Big Cat would just yowl from the sidelines and want to eat the world. It wouldn’t care about a dao overview or whatever.

Big Cat is also a brute!

......

Within the void, Li Hao gingerly summoned a trace of fire energy based off memory. When he found the source of the fire dao, he slowly broke it off from the net.

The great dao really did come away with a snap; the entire net rippled with a new looseness. The young man was overjoyed. He was doing the right thing!

“I’ll dismantle the dao of fire,” he instructed as he extracted the dao of fire. “I will snap the daos from the net and you can gather them up. Be careful. The slightest misstep might mean you break it into two. Everything turns into a mess then.”

“I’m... I’m afraid I won’t be up to the task...” Lin Hongyu fretted.

“You are. If not and we mess up here, there’s another mid world out there that we can take down!” Li Hao slowly finished withdrawing the dao of fire. Having seen the young man provide one example of proper procedure, Lin Hongyu carefully raised some dao strength to her hands and aped Li Hao’s movements.

She peeled the great dao that’d been handed to her, reducing it down to its essence. When a great dao landed in her hand, a faint understanding of its dao rules actually surged into her mind.

The two worked in tandem, Li Hao gaining a great deal from the process as well. He was jubilant after a few dozen daos. However, this was when Lin Hongyu’s dao strength veered slightly off course.

The entire net of dao collapsed!

Rumble!!

The net fell apart and daos crumbled to ashes. Lin Hongyu paled with horror, but the young man laughed at the sight.

“Don’t look at me, watch the fireworks! Once you’re done, you can study the dao of destruction while you’re at it!” Li Hao pointed at everything falling to pieces.

“I...” Lin Hongyu wanted to say something, but the young man cut her off with a chuckle.

“So beautiful!” he sighed with emotion as he watched the dao net self-destruct. “So this is the destruction of great dao... the beauty in devastation!

“You were unpracticed in dismantling the dao net, which also represents that you have a weak control of the various daos. While you do focus on life and death, you should also comprehend some of other daos when suitable.”

Lin Hongyu inclined her head, then looked at Li Hao’s profile. She suddenly felt... at peace.

There wasn’t much interaction between the two of them.

They were simply jointly comprehending the destruction of a world this time and understanding life and death. They were studying the formation and destruction of a dao net—Li Hao didn’t say anything tender or sweet from beginning to end.

But for some reason, a warm fuzzy feeling welled up in her heart.

Perhaps this was something unique to cultivators, that they would find deconstructing great dao to be so romantic and perfect. Lin Hongyu silently looked at Li Hao, then at the crumbling dao net.

I’ve wasted many opportunities and even the entire net of dao from a world, but Li Hao... didn’t criticize me at all. He simply casually comforted me, but that in itself brings me so much satisfaction.

Lin Hongyu was momentarily lost in her emotions. Who said that the great dao was heartless?

It was absolutely full of heart!

Cultivators lived and died for their training. Wasn’t this where emotion was developed? Various notions appeared in her head.

So this is the birth and death of dao...

A trace of life and death qi shimmered over her body and circled around her. It didn’t create bridges of life and death that Li Hao commonly fashioned, but a star of life and death in his river quietly grew stronger.

It’d subconsciously absorbed a lot of energy, then abruptly changed in a very natural fashion to... second rank!

Life and death being decided with one thought!

Lin Hongyu continued to look quietly at Li Hao. Life and death are possible with one singular thought from me. Whether it is my, the great dao, or the world’s survival... What if I’d chosen to set myself against Li Hao instead of surrendering when I met him?

Perhaps... that is how my survival was decided by one thought!

Her lips curved in a smile.

Who said life was the be all and end all of the daos of life and death? Thoughts were the deciding factor!

......

Everyone comprehended dao in a different manner. Li Hao did not understand how Lin Hongyu grasped her understanding, but he discovered that her presence had suddenly crossed over to second rank.

Second rank wasn’t much, but the woman had made the leap without absorbing much energy. This meant that her understanding of dao had taken a great leap forward. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

It was the dream of many exalted emperors to advance in cultivation through enlightenment.

“Congratulations!” Li Hao smiled. Second rank would do.

All of the Silver Moon exalted emperors had improved after leaving their home. Panther and the rest were even third rank. Granted, that had much to do with their identities. Since Lin Hongyu was neither the master of a world nor a master of dao, it was exemplary that she’d swiftly set foot into second rank.

Lin Hongyu smiled as well.

Second rank!

It was only a matter of time for her to reach this level and she knew that third rank was no difficulty either. The true difficulty was setting foot into mid and high rank. If she didn’t attain further understanding of dao methods, she would never make it to fourth rank.

But today, she’d grasped a bit more about life and death.

Life and death!

She suddenly extended her hand and summoned a faint luster of vitality to her fingertips. Life and death are decided by one thought!

A moment of brilliance!

Li Hao blinked. For a moment, one of the great daos in the destroyed net had resurfaced, as if time had flowed backward.

Death qi soon rushed in and the dao snapped into pieces once more.

Lin Hongyu stared into space, her earlier joy dissipating and being replaced by regret. “I was thinking of resurrecting these great daos, but... I failed.”

Resurrecting?

Li Hao gaped at her, wandering what kind of joke she was cracking. The great dao has been destroyed, but you want to bring it back?

Can you even do that?

However, he still comforted her, “You revived the dead dao for a split second, allowing it to burst with its final splendor...”

“I suppose!” Lin Hongyu nodded, still caught up in regret. That had only been for a moment! What good was a moment of brilliance worth?

I fell short of expectations again.

Li Hao, however, was still staring at her. He didn’t make a sound for a long time.
