Star Odyssey-Chapter 3509: The Change In Lu Yin
Chapter 3509: The Change In Lu Yin
Lu Yin shrugged and said, "It's not that I don't want to give him to you, but that I truly can't. Are you asking me to go grab him and then send him to you?"
Wu Tong was terribly confused. "Go grab him? Isn't Sage Qian your captive?"
"I released him a long time ago. The old man paid the price, so I let him go. There was no deep grudge between us, so why would I keep him?" Lu Yin asked in a careless manner.
Wu Tong's eyes flashed. "Sage Qian ran away?"
"That’s right—wait a minute. How about you tell me where he is, and I’ll go get him for you. That old man paid an impressive price, and I have no idea where it came from," Lu Yin said.
Wu Tong pursed her lips. "In that case, thank you for this information. We won’t trouble you any longer. We’ll find him ourselves."
"Alright, but if you meet any trouble, just let me know. I’m quite the gentleman. Just look, I’ve already gained two new maids, haha." Lu Yin laughed heartily as his sedan moved past Wu Tong, continuing on towards the Wisdom Domain.
Wu Tong stared at Lu Yin’s back as she reached out to Shi Lin.
In the Consciousness Domain, Shi Lin’s head snapped up. "Sage Qian ran away? I understand."
Qi Gong had stolen the White Willow, but Sage Qian seemed to be the one behind the theft. Even so, there had to be someone else behind Sage Qian, as how else could he have afforded the hefty ransom for his release?
In the Vast Qian Domain, Sage Qian had intentionally exposed the White Willow, which had led to the Qi family approaching the Third Boss. Given the Qi family’s normal behavior and Qi Shangjun’s nature, it had been inevitable for them to offend the Third Boss. From there, it had not been impossible to expect the Third Boss to turn towards the Consciousness Domain, or possibly even the entire Grandverse Manor.
They needed to continue following one link after another. Sage Qian had to be found. Whoever was behind him had planned too thoroughly, all to target the conscients who had been imprisoned beneath the Consciousness Domain.
It seemed likely that the Third Boss had taken those conscients away and traded them to Sage Qian, but that was something that the Third Boss would never admit to.
That would also explain why the Third Boss had taken the captive conscients from the battleship.
Were my earlier suspicions all wrong? Shi Lin’s brow furrowed. He could not help but feel that something still was not quite right.
He refused to believe that everything had been just coincidence. That was simply impossible.
...
News of Ru Mu becoming Lu Yin’s new maid had already spread throughout the Spirit Nidus, inciting envy and jealousy in countless people. They simply could not understand what made the Third Boss so special.
For someone to be captured and then forced to serve as a maid was one thing. However, Ru Mu had volunteered to serve such a role—why?
People’s various speculations became the most interesting topic of discussion for countless cultivators in the Spirit Nidus. One particular rumor spread very quickly, and soon enough, it reached Lu Yin.
"What? A dual cultivation method?" Lu Yin was stunned. Were such cultivation methods real?
Qing Yun's face flushed red, and she wanted to yank her hand away from Lu Yin's grasp.
Old Tao grinned mischievously. "They are, and right now, people are claiming that the reason why you have such an impressive cultivation level despite your young age is all thanks to a dual cultivation method."
Lu Yin was left speechless.
"Not only that, but people are even saying that the dual cultivation method you use is the legendary Twin Heavens Binding Technique, which once created quite a commotion," Old Tao added.
Lu Yin blinked. "The Twin Heavens Binding Technique?"
"There are many legends about that technique in the Spirit Nidus," Old Tao explained. "Because our megaverse’s cultivation system was unified so early on, any alternate cultivation methods have become the stuff of legend—just like the Twin Heavens Binding Technique."
He thought for a moment before continuing, "According to the tales, a couple once created the Twin Heavens Binding Technique. They unknowingly obtained half of a cultivation method each. Normally, cultivating with only half of a technique would be impossible, but through perseverance and luck, they each managed to complete their respective halves. As fate would have it, their paths eventually crossed while traveling through the Spirit Nidus. Due to the attraction between their two incomplete techniques, they were naturally drawn to each other—and eventually became a couple.
"It is said that, on their wedding night, their two half-completed cultivation methods merged, allowing them to achieve perfect mastery of the technique. Both experienced rapid breakthroughs, and as fate would have it, their enemies arrived seeking revenge. The couple eliminated their foes with ease, and from that point on, they continued cultivating together. Over time, their method spread and became known as the Twin Heavens Binding Technique.
"After their deaths, their disciples inherited the technique. These disciples were exceptionally gifted, surpassing even the couple’s expectations. One of them even modified the technique, removing its fixed structure and turning it into a method purely focused on accelerating cultivation speed—two times, three times, even five times faster. Unlike typical methods that can briefly enhance early-stage cultivation, or having a powerful expert empower someone, the Twin Heavens Binding Technique was said to have no upper limit. The legends claim that it could even accelerate cultivation at the level of sequence powerhouses..."
Lu Yin listened as though hearing an old legend. "So what you’re telling me is that no one knows if any of this is real. If the rumors were true, the Ascendant Hall would have seized this technique long ago."
Old Tao flattered him. "As expected of you, Third Boss! Everything I’ve told you is just a legend, and these stories are so ancient that no one can verify them. Many believe the Twin Heavens Binding Technique is nothing more than a myth. But now, the rumors have surfaced again. More and more people believe you have obtained the technique. Or rather..." He hesitated before adding, "That Yuan Qi has obtained it."
Lu Yin chuckled. "The Twin Heavens Binding Technique, huh? Quite the grand name."
"So the outside world believes I’m collecting maids in order to cultivate this technique?" He looked at Ru Mu. "Did you agree to become my maid because of this rumor?"
Old Tao replied, "Well, Miss Ru Mu did speak with you in Ninerings City, Third Boss. No one knows what was said."
Ru Mu smiled at Lu Yin. "Master, do you really know a dual cultivation technique?"
Lu Yin spread his hands open. He had been holding Qing Yun’s tightly clenched hand, and the moment his fingers uncurled, she immediately snatched her hand back.
"Who knows? Still, these rumors aren’t a bad thing."
Time passed, and the sedan continued straight for the Wisdom Domain. It moved in a perfectly straight path; in the thirty-six domains, neither astral phenomena nor anything else could cause the sedan to alter its path.
Already, countless cultivators were waiting near the Umbral Deep at the border of the Wisdom Domain. Occasionally, someone would glance into the Umbral Deep, peering into its bottomless depths.
No one had expected Bao Qi to actually be in such a place.
There were some who dared to venture down into the Umbral Deep, but none ever returned.
The Seven Seraph stood nearly at the pinnacle of the Spirit Nidus, and their authority was inviolable. Even if those who attempted to explore the Umbral Deep were killed, no one would dare to make any complaints.
Past the Umbral Deep lay the Wisdom Domain.
Young Master Yu had returned to the Wisdom Domain, still accompanied by Mr. Li.
"That’s a familiar aura," Mr. Li commented, his face somber as he looked towards the Umbral Deep.
Young Master Yu frowned. "An old powerhouse?"
Mr. Li nodded. "And more than one at that. This battle at the Umbral Deep will be exciting. If things go wrong, even if the Third Boss defeats Seraph Bao Qi, he won’t live to return to the Grandverse Manor."
Young Master Yu was caught off guard. "You sound like you believe that he’s capable of winning."
Mr. Li said nothing in reply.
Winning? Yes, Mr. Li was optimistic about the Third Boss’s odds. He was simply unfathomable.
While Seraph Bao Qi was strong and Mr. Li was not the Seraph’s match when he had his Cauldron Bell, Mr. Li could still at least understand Bao Qi’s strength and limits. On the other hand, the Third Boss was a complete mystery.
However, with those old freaks arriving, even if the Third Boss defeated Bao Qi, it would not be easy for him to leave.
As soon as a Seraph was defeated and their position became vacant, many old freaks would seize what they saw as their chance. This was even more true given the fact that the Day of Offering was so close.
If Mr. Li was the Third Boss, then even if he wanted to compete for the title of Seraph, he would wait until after the Day of Offering.
Challenging at a Seraph at present was unwise, given the risks involved. However, this was also the only time that an outsider would have a chance at seizing the position of one of the Seven Seraphs.
...
With anticipation in the air, the sedan finally arrived in the Wisdom Domain.
Far away, Lu Yin could see a dark, massive rift that cut into the Wisdom Domain. It was the Umbral Deep.

the Umbral Deep was an astral phenomenon that seemed like a fissure in the Spirit Nidus. It was a crack so deep that no one knew what the bottom was connected to.
However, after people learned that Bao Qi was in the Umbral Deep, many wondered if the reason why no one had been able to explore the depths of the astral phenomenon was not due to the Umbral Deep itself, but rather because Seraph Bao Qi had eliminated them.
The sight of the Umbral Deep caused Old Tao and the others’ expressions to grow solemn.
At this moment, Qing Yun no longer cared that Lu Yin was still holding her hand. They were about to confront Seraph Bao Qi, one of the Seven Seraphs.
Despite the rumors that claimed that Bao Qi had only succeeded in obtaining his position because the High Seraph had given it to him in the form of the Cauldron Bell, that did not mean that Bao Qi did not possess the strength of a Seraph.
Without sufficient strength, the High Seraph would have never been able to give Bao Qi the position. The other Seraphs would never have acknowledged Bao Qi.
The man was a genuine Seraph.
Lu Yin stood up and peered at the Umbral Deep. "All of you, stay here."
He had already sensed more than one hidden powerhouse. Each one was powerful enough to send chills down Lu Yin’s spine. These were top-tier experts.
As expected, these old freaks were unable to restrain themselves. They were eager to fight for the position of Seraph.
The more evident it was that Lu Yin would fight Bao Qi, the less likely it was that Lu Yin would be disturbed. There were too many experts and organizations waiting for the results of this battle.
If the Third Boss lost, all of those who were waiting would take action. If the Third Boss won, they would do the exact same thing.
Either the madman who stood against the Ascendant Hall would be targeted, or the title of Seraph would be fought for.
As far as the hidden spectators were concerned, there was no way for them to lose out from this battle.
Lu Yin stared at the distant Abyss. This was a moment that he had been waiting a long time for. How many ancient powerhouses were hidden in the Spirit Nidus? How many of them believed themselves capable of killing Lu Yin? He would welcome them all. In the next fight, Lu Yin would fully unleash his Karmic Dao, not using it passively, but rather actively. He would free himself of the bonds that the High Seraph was restricting him with, and he would firmly establish his position within the Spirit Nidus.
Old Tao looked back. There was something different about Lu Yin at this moment. The old man was reminded of their first meeting in Beacon City.
This was an aura of pure dominance, the attitude of someone who looked down on the entire megaverse, someone who was in control of absolutely everything. That was the aura that Lu Yin radiated at this moment.
Beside the old man, Palace Master Yao, Cai Keqing, Ru Mu, Qing Yun, and everyone else in Lu Yin’s entourage stared at him in astonishment. How could a person’s aura change so drastically?
The Megalith and the Pridebeast both bowed their heads. This was their master’s true aura.
From behind the group, Qing Xiao stared at Lu Yin’s back in a daze. The young man no longer dared to try to approach. No, he was unable to do so. Staring at the Third Boss gave the young man the impression of a mountain that could only be looked up to. This was not the arrogant young master from before. How could such a drastic change have happened so rapidly?
All of Lu Yin’s various observers in every direction fell silent at this moment.
Zhan Qianguhou arrived, and he nervously looked around. He had finally taken a step back from the Revelation Domain’s Debaters. Those people were frustrating, and they would never stop arguing. On top of that, as time passed, more and more people had joined. Zhan Qianguhou had only barely managed to escape from them.
He looked at the standing form of the Third Boss and felt an overwhelming pressure from him. While there was no discernible aura, why was there so much pressure? It felt as though the entire universe had frozen as everything before the Third Boss turned grey.
The pressure spread through the Wisdom Domain.
Young Master Yu’s eyes sharply focused.
Mr. Li frowned. Why does it feel like he’s become stronger?
Further away, Old Yu’s eyes opened, and he could not help but be impressed. "A truly peerless genius across all eras."
