Starforce Warriors-Chapter 597: Divine Art Infusion
Chapter 597: Divine Art Infusion
The delicate and beautiful hands carried the warmth and power of time itself. In that moment, Li Xiaofei felt the oppressive weight of fifty times normal gravity vanish completely from his body.
It was as if a tiger had been freed from its shackles. But that was not all. A majestic and vast energy, as boundless as the starry sky, surged from those small hands into Li Xiaofei’s body.
Guided by this newfound energy, the icy sword and fiery blade energies from Li Xiaofei’s Dual Sacred Body of Blade and Sword cultivation began to fuse and elevate to an entirely new level.
Buzz, buzz, buzz.
The rusty sword trembled. Flakes of mottled rust flew off the blade, spinning and dancing like radiant stars. Its pristine, jade-like body gleamed with a divine brilliance, casting countless rays of dazzling light into the air.
This was the miraculous transformation of the rusty sword that only occurred when Li Xiaofei utilized the energy from the green hairs bestowed by Li Lan. The three lifesaving green hairs had already been used up long ago. Yet now, that very same energy had reappeared. Li Xiaofei didn’t waste a second.
Swish.
A flash of pure white sword light streaked across the battlefield. The Feng family ancestor was still spreading his deadly poison when he froze in place. His head detached cleanly from his body and flew into the air.
The headless corpse continued to charge forward for several dozen meters before slamming heavily into the stone wall of the Corpse Emperor’s Abyssal Tower.
"Fourth Brother!" The Xie family ancestor cried out in shock.
This sudden change caught him completely off guard. When his eyes landed on the figure of the woman who had appeared behind Li Xiaofei, his face instantly froze in an expression of utter disbelief.
"A... s-snake... a snake..." He stammered with difficulty, barely managing to utter those words.
But in those fleeting seconds, Li Xiaofei had already slain the ancestors of the Huangfu family and the Zhou family. Sword light flashed as both men collapsed as headless corpses.
The Xie family ancestor let out a terrified scream and turned to flee. His figure flickered like a shooting star, vanishing and reappearing in quick bursts, as he ascended to the next level of the Corpse Emperor’s Abyssal Tower in mere moments. However—
Whoosh!
The rusty sword was faster as it tore through the air and pierced through his chest.
"I..." The Xie family ancestor looked down at the bloodied hole in his chest, where the sword had gone cleanly through. He struggled to form a word, but his voice faltered.
His complexion quickly turned ashen as his body began to wither rapidly. Wrinkles overtook his skin. His hair turned gray, then white, before falling out in sparse clumps.
In mere moments, he aged hundreds of years. A once robust, vigorous young man transformed into a decrepit, shriveled corpse. At the same time, a bright, milky-white orb of light emerged from the withered corpse and shot into the void like a streak of lightning.
Just as it was about to disappear completely into the void, a delicate, snow-white hand gently gestured in the distance. The milky-white orb was instantly pulled into the palm of the snow-white hand. It struggled fiercely, but no matter how hard it tried, it could not break free.
Five other milky-white orbs of light were already pulsating faintly within the palm of that hand. These were the mysterious energies extracted from the bodies of the other five ancestors.
Just like the Xie family ancestor, the Zhou family ancestor and the others had experienced an intense and dramatic aging process after their deaths. Li Xiaofei suddenly turned around. When he saw the flawless, graceful figure of the young woman hovering behind him, his face lit up with uncontrollable joy.
"Little Aunt!" He exclaimed excitedly.
The owner of the snow-white hand was none other than his long-lost aunt. She was no longer dressed in modern attire. Instead, she wore a crescent-white gown that radiated an ancient charm.
Even the loose fabric of her gown could not hide her tall, curvaceous figure. Her hair was now slightly longer than before and casually styled into a bun with a simple wooden hairpin. She gave off an air of calm elegance.
She looked like a celestial maiden who had stepped out of a painting from ancient times. However, the scar on her face remained. A menacing blue and red centipede scar marred her otherwise perfect beauty, disrupting the harmony of her appearance.
A faint smile appeared on Little Aunt’s scarred face as she faced Li Xiaofei. Her slender fingers on her right hand curved slightly, and the six milky-white orbs of light in her palm began to compress under the gentle yet firm grip of her snow-white hand.
The orbs merged together, forming a single entity. Her fingertips then began to pluck away tiny specks from the unified orb, as though removing impurities. After a few moments, the condensed orb that was originally the size of a palm was compressed to the size of a mere soybean. It now appeared purer and more crystalline, its radiance softer and more refined.
With a graceful flip of her snow-white hand, she pressed the condensed orb directly onto the crown of Li Xiaofei’s head and transferred it into his mind.
"Little Aunt, this is..."
Li Xiaofei was astonished, but he did not resist. In the next instant, he felt a sudden influx of strange information flooding his mind. They were memories, or perhaps instincts that seemed deeply ingrained and familiar.
Gravity Manipulation! Fire Control! Starforce Chainsaw Weapon Mastery!
Li Xiaofei was stunned, and realization dawned upon him immediately. These abilities were Eden’s divine arts that the Xie family ancestor and the others had displayed earlier. Li Xiaofei now found himself able to use these skills with remarkable proficiency, as though he had cultivated them for centuries.
"Eden’s basic arts," Little Aunt explained calmly. "Though they are simple, they hold great intricacy. If you use them well in battle, they can turn defeat into victory."
"Thank you, Little Aunt," replied Li Xiaofei, grinning like a child.
Every time he was in the most perilous situations, his aunt would always appear just in time, effortlessly resolving everything with grace and composure.
But Li Xiaofei couldn’t help but ask, "By the way, Little Aunt, the Xie family ancestor seemed to recognize you earlier?"
His aunt nodded slightly. "I’ve crossed paths with the people of Eden before. It seems the impression I left on them was... rather deep."
"Then what was he yelling about—‘snake, snake, snake’? What did he mean? He seemed absolutely terrified of you."
His aunt replied calmly, "In Eden’s doctrine, the snake is a symbol of evil. It represents desire, temptation, and the source of destruction. Anything or anyone capable of threatening Eden’s Divine Followers is branded as an evil snake."
Li Xiaofei began to understand. As someone who had transmigrated five hundred years ago, he was naturally familiar with the legends of Eden. His aunt’s explanation aligned perfectly with the myths and was entirely within his expectations.
"Little Aunt, how did you know I was in danger?" Li Xiaofei asked, one question leading into another. "Have you been watching over me all this time?"
His aunt smiled faintly.
"I have many things to attend to," she said gently. "It’s impossible for me to stay by your side constantly. It was just a coincidence this time. I just happened to be nearby."
She spoke with a serene expression, as if everything that had unfolded was no more than a minor detour in her journey.
"Alright," Li Xiaofei pouted, then eagerly asked, "Little Aunt, can you stay with me a little longer this time?"
His aunt nodded. "I can."
"Really?"
Li Xiaofei was ecstatic.
His aunt always left in a hurry, so he had subconsciously assumed that she would disappear as quickly as she had appeared. He wanted to ask more questions, but his aunt interrupted him.
"There’s not much time. Let’s check on Little Ying first," she said suddenly, pressing her hand lightly on his shoulder.
A surge of unfamiliar energy flowed through him. The scene before his eyes blurred, spinning and shifting until Li Xiaofei found himself back on the stone island at the deepest part of the Corpse Emperor’s Abyssal Tower.
"Little Ying?" The smile that had been on Li Xiaofei’s face vanished in an instant.
The moment he saw the young lady, it felt as though an iron clamp had seized his heart, squeezing it so tightly that it almost stopped beating.
