Stolen love: In love with my sister 's fiance-Chapter 30: Drunken confessions
Chapter 30: Drunken confessions
Elaine stepped out of adrain's hostal as both hostal are near with each other, pulling her jacket around herself as the cold night hit her. The campus was quit, the distance hum of city barley reached her. She let out a slow breath trying to steady herself.
Then she noticed him.
Alex stood near a tree, partially hidden in the shadows. His car was parked nearby, the headlights off. Even from a distance, she could tell he wasn't himself. There was something about the way he stood—tense, uncertain, like he was battling something inside him.
As soon as their eyes met, he moved.
Without a word, he strode toward her, and before she could react, he pulled her into a tight embrace. The scent of expensive cologne mixed with the faint trace of perfume that didn't belong to her. It hit her all at once.
Elaine froze.
A second later, she shoved him away, her breath unsteady. "What the hell, Alex?"
He stood there, slightly unsteady, a bouquet crumpled in his grip. His eyes—glassy, conflicted—met hers. "Elaine, I messed up," he said, his voice rough. "I did something I regret."
Elaine crossed her arms, her heart pounding. "Then say it."
He let out a heavy breath, running a hand through his hair. "I saw you at the club... with him. And I don't know what happened, but I—I lost it. I felt so damn jealous." He swallowed hard, looking away for a second before forcing himself to meet her gaze. "I kissed Olivia. And the worst part? The entire time, I was thinking about you."
Elaine stared at him, something inside her sinking.
"You kissed her... because you were jealous of me?" Her voice was quieter now, laced with disbelief.
Alex nodded, gripping the bouquet tighter, like it was the only thing keeping him together. "I don't know when this started or how, but it's been there—this feeling. And I—I don't know what to do with it." He exhaled shakily. "It's too much."
Elaine stared at him, her heart pounding in her ears. The confession—raw, desperate—was everything she once longed to hear. But now, standing here under the night sky, it felt like a cruel joke.
Elaine let out a hollow laugh, shaking her head in disbelief. "You must be joking." Her voice was quiet but edged with something sharp. "What do you want me do, Alex you said to keep distance I kept my distance and now you here for what!?"
Alex ran a frustrated hand through his hair, exhaling harshly. "I don't know!" His voice cracked with something raw, something desperate. "It's all messed up. Everything is wrong, but—" He stopped, his breathing unsteady. "How do I make my heart understand? It doesn't listen."
Elaine's fingers curled into fists at her sides.
"Every day, I feel guilty," Alex continued, his voice lower now, almost as if he was confessing. "For the things I've done. For what I've become. And it's eating me alive. But I can't stop thinking about you."
He stepped closer as his hands moved before she could react, gently cupping her face, his thumbs grazing her cheekbones looking at her eyes there was pain. Slowly there breath mingle.
Elaine froze.
Alex's gaze dropped to her lips, lingering, waiting—before he closed the distance and kissed her.

For a second, she didn't move. Didn't breathe. The world around her faded, leaving only the heat of his lips against hers, the weight of something unspoken pressing between them.
Then—
Click.
The sharp sound of a camera shutter echoed in the silence.
Elaine snapped out of it.
Whatever trance that had held her shattered, and she shoved Alex away, breathing hard. "How could you?" Her voice wavered, a mixture of anger and something close to betrayal. "I was trying to move on. Trying so hard to keep my distance And you—you wanted to make me a cheater?"
Elaine took a step back, her chest rising and falling with the weight of her emotions. Her voice trembled with anger as she yelled,
"You show up when you want, disappear when you want... Do you think I'm just here for you to mess with whenever it suits you?"
Her voice cracked slightly, but she held her ground.
Alex looked just as shaken, his eyes wide with realization.
But Elaine didn't wait for his response.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she took a step back. Whatever this was—whatever he thought he felt—it was too late.
