Stranger Danger-Chapter 1133: Snow Corpse
A camel who starved to death was still bigger than a horse, and Xuanyuan Kun was a celestial. Ye Qing was sure the celestial could give the four Sages a run for their money if he was allowed to catch his breath. Even if that wasn’t the case, it would lessen the Sages’ attention on him and Yi Pin and increase their chances of escaping.
Xuanyuan Kun was the Sages’ primary objective, not him or Yi Pin. There was no way they would prioritize them over the celestial. Once their focus was shifted, Ye Qing was sure they would be able to make their escape.
At first, everything went exactly as planned. Unfortunately, men plan, and god laughs. Ye Qing never imagined that Xuanyuan Kun would choose to self-destruct with the breather he bought him.
The self-destruction of a celestial was no joke. It somehow rendered his spatial methods useless even before the self-destruction occurred. To say it caught everyone off guard would be an understatement.
There was no time to come up with an alternative solution, so Ye Qing surrounded himself and Yi Pin within the Earthly Sovereign Bell and prayed for the best.
Luckily, Lady Luck was on their side today. Not only did the Earthly Sovereign Bell manage to protect them, the explosion blew them into a current of chaos that whisked them away from the battlefield. Thanks to that, they survived the life-and-death situation.
But of course, he didn’t escape the explosion unscathed. Although the Earthly Sovereign bell blocked most of the celestial’s self-destruction, he was still bonded to the Strange Artifact. A small but not insignificant part of the explosion was transferred to his person.
As a result, his internal organs were shattered, his meridians were broken, and his vigor was severely depleted. This was easily one of the most devastating injuries he had suffered since embarking on the path of martial arts.
That said, his injuries were not life-threatening because they were mostly physical. His mind and spirit were exhausted after unleashing a big attack using the Earthly Sovereign Bell, but that was all. He would recover in just a few days.
As for his physical body, anything short of being crushed into paste was not a concerning injury. He was in the journeyman level of the Earthly Sovereign True Body after all. He wasn’t so OP that he could be reborn from a single drop of blood, but so long as his physical body still existed, and he hadn’t run out of Profound Yellow Mother Qi, he would make a full recovery eventually.
Speaking of which, his injuries had more or less mended after just lying down for a bit. His pain had decreased a little as well.
“Damn… what on earth is your cultivation art, brother? How is your body so strong?” Yi Pin asked enviously.
“What, you want to learn it? I can teach you if you want!” Ye Qing joked.
“Har har…” Yi Pin rolled his eyes, not falling for Ye Qing’s bait for even a second.
Another teatime passed, and Ye Qing’s external injuries were more or less healed. His face had regained some color as well. So, he rose to his feet and said, “Come. Time to get away from here.”
“You’re healed already?” Yi Pin exclaimed in astonishment.
“Of course not. I’ve recovered enough to move, but that’s it,” Ye Qing replied weakly.
On the surface, it looked like he was fully healed already. In reality, his internal organs were still mostly shattered, and his meridians broken. As he said, he was just healthy enough to move.
He would have liked to recover further as a matter of course, but the crash site wasn’t the safest place to do so.
For one, he wasn’t sure if the Sages he just screwed over would choose to take out their frustrations and embarrassment on him.
And two, he didn’t know if this snowy mountain was safe. It might look like everything was calm, but they had literally snapped the snowy peak in half and triggered a massive avalanche just now. It was entirely possible that the commotion had caught a warrior or a Stranger’s attention.
He was severely injured right now and could not put up a fight. As for Yi Pin, the guy was a master of deception and trickery, but combat? Hah!
Even if that wasn’t the case, Yi Pin had blocked two of Xuanyuan Kun’s blows in the Xumi Celestial Mirror earlier. He wasn’t injured, but he was severely depleted. Therefore, he could not count on Yi Pin to protect them.
All things considered, their best option was to leave the crash site and find a safe place to recover.
Yi Pin was an intelligent man. He quickly recognized Ye Qing’s concerns as well.
“Ah, give me a moment!”
Yi Pin stopped Ye Qing before fishing out three copper coins from his sleeves. He gave them a shake before dropping it on the ground. He would repeat this motion three times.
“So? What’s the verdict?” Ye Qing asked smilingly.
“We’re headed to the west. The divination says that good things will happen if we travel this way,” Yi Pin put away the copper coins and answered with a grin of his own.
“Alright. Let’s go.”
Ye Qing shrugged. He honestly couldn’t see anything special about the copper coins whatsoever, but it wasn’t like he knew where to go. Hell, he didn’t even know where they were right now, so any direction was fine with him.
The duo quickly vanished into the wind and snow.
……
About an incense stick later, a figure suddenly appeared before the collapsed mountain.
She was a woman. She was wearing a white dress, and she looked to be sixteen years old. Her countenance was as exquisite as a painting, and she looked like a snow fairy as she walked through the snow.
Her skin was unnaturally white. Pure white like snow or paper, not a hint of red could be seen anywhere. Even her hair, the color of her pupils and more were white as well. She also boasted zero vitality like an ice sculpture or a walking corpse.
The woman walked all the way to the place where the snowy peak had snapped in half. Then, she stared blankly at the markings created by the collision between the Earthly Sovereign Bell and the snowy peak, unmoving.
This complete stillness lasted about a dozen breaths before the woman stiffly turned her head and looked in a certain direction.
The next moment, the wind howled like it was enraged, and a gust of snow struck what looked like an empty spot about a hundred meters away from her and kicked up a snowy tide that was just as tall.
“What is the meaning of this, Snow Corpse?”
The snowy tide did not fall back to the ground, however. Instead, it froze in mid-air and took the face of an old man.

“This isn’t your territory, is it? I am welcomed here just as you are.”
“... Mine.”
A few breaths later, the woman—Snow Corpse—replied in a low, raspy voice. Somehow both low-pitched and piercing at the same time, it was the definition of the voice of death and evil.
“Yours? Kekeke… says who?”
The old man cackled scornfully, and his voice reverberated from seemingly every direction. “This isn’t your domain. This isn’t anyone’s domain. Here, the only law for treasure hunting is first come first serve. Don’t think for a second that you can claim all the spoils for yourself.”
“Speaking of which, this treasure belongs to me, the Old Man of Snowy Mountain!”
Old Man of Snowy Mountain could feel an immense, terrifying aura from the broken area of the snowy peak. If just the leftover energy alone was this powerful, he could scarcely imagine how potent the object itself was. One thing for certain, it was a one-of-a-kind treasure.
Of course, judging from the remnants and the fact that the treasure was nowhere to be found, it had to belong to someone. It was fine though. Whoever this person was, they were just holding his treasure for him until he retrieved it from them.
Yes, the treasure was his. It could only be his.
“Mine…”
Snow Corpse repeated herself, and a snow storm shook the mountains as if reflecting her anger.
“Kekeke… that’s for the winner to say, not you.” Old Man of Snowy Mountain cackled. “Buh-bye!”
The old man cackled, and the snowy tide abruptly dissipated into many snow hawks. They scattered in every direction.
The Snow Corpse did not give chase, though her presence grew even darker and heavier than it already was. Then, she looked up and let out a howl that was mournful and tragic, evil and anomalous.
Crack!
Suddenly, a pale, rotten arm burst out of a patch of snow. Then, a pale white corpse climbed out into the open.
It wasn’t the first, and it would not be the last.
As the Snow Corpse continued to howl, countless stiff corpses began climbing out of the ice, the snow, the rocks and more everywhere. Once they appeared, they began roaming earnestly.
“Mine…”
