Chapter 1200: Ghost Doctor

“Heh... found you.”

A glint suddenly appeared in the young man’s pupils. Then, he took a step forward and disappeared from Westwind Restaurant.

“What in the...”

A moment later, the disoriented guests in Westwind Restaurant finally jolted back to reality. Their eyes bulged in shock and disbelief when they saw the three dead bodies on the ground.

“It’s... It’s Fast Sword, Mad Saber and Ghost Axe...” [1]

Fast Sword was bleeding all over and breathing very shallowly[2]. Ghost Axe’s chest was split open, and his guts were spilled all across the floor as he lay on the floor. It was impossible to tell if he was still alive or not.

As for Mad Saber, he was completely deflated and one hundred percent dead.

What on earth happened? How did the terrifying Fast Sword, Mad Saber and Ghost Axe become like this in just the blink of an eye?

“Where is the youngster? Is this his doing?” Someone asked suddenly.

As if on cue, the wooden door of Westwind Restaurant was opened once more.

The crowd subconsciously looked, and the young man they were talking about slowly stepped in.

The young man was wearing a pleasant, refreshing smile just like before.

One could almost pretend that nothing had happened if not for the fact that he was lifting one person on each hand.

One of the people he was lifting looked identical to Fast Sword, Mad Saber, and Ghost Axe. Unless they were sorely mistaken, he was the boss of the Four Renegades, God Bow the Bow Renegade.

God Bow was unconscious and breathing shallowly just like Fast Sword and Ghost Axe. If not for the fact that his chest was heaving up and down, they would not think he was alive.

There was a difference, however. Fast Sword and Ghost Axe were covered in varying degrees of injuries, but God Bow looked spotless. Not even his shirt was dirtied or disheveled.

The other person was a man in his fifties. He wore a loose robe with wide sleeves and a tall, square-shaped crown. His countenance was thin and refined, and he kept a long beard beneath his chin. He would look quite handsome if he wasn’t being carried by the neck right now.

Actually, scratch that, he wouldn’t look handsome even if he wasn’t being held by the neck because his square crown was several times taller than your usual crown. It made him look more like a clown than a scholar.

Also, there were two lines written on the front side of the crown: “I treat the vilest villains, and save the ghouliest ghouls.”

“The Ghost Doctor... He’s the Ghost Doctor!”

A man suddenly recalled something and cried out in shock.

“What? The Ghost Doctor?”

“The Ghost Doctor! How is that possible?”

......

An uproar broke out in Westwind Restaurant. For a time, no one could conceal their shock and disbelief.

Without exaggeration, they were ten times, no, a hundred times more shocked than when the Four Renegades had made their impromptu entrance.

The Ghost Doctor was exceedingly infamous in the jianghu. To make a comparison, if the Four Renegades were proud hawks that soared through the clouds, then the Ghost Doctor was the moon in the sky, admirable yet untouchable.

The Ghost Doctor was a Trueman champion. A master of medicine and poison, he was especially adept in the art of acupuncture. It was said that his “Thirteen Needles of the Gates of Hell” could bring the dead back to life and rescue ghosts and gods.

Despite his unparalleled medical skills, there were three types of people that the Ghost Doctor refused to treat: the philanthropist, the good, and the righteous. In short, the Ghost Doctor only treated evil people. He loathed good people and adored evil monsters. “I treat the vilest villains, and save the ghouliest ghouls” was a short but perfect description of his way of living.

But of course, even a heretic like the Ghost Doctor still required payment for his services. Anyone who requested his help must perform a favor for him. It could be anything from testing out drugs, hunting treasures, robbing, killing and more.

Ghost Doctor himself carried himself like an absolute monster. Lives were as worthless as grass in his opinion, and he often used living subjects to test his drugs or create poison.

In summary, Ghost Doctor was an irredeemable villain through and through. He was named on both the Black List and the Earth Champions Ranking. Specifically, he was sixty-second on the Black List and seventy-fifth on the Earth Champions Ranking.

Everyone in this restaurant was a bottom feeder, however. The three Rankings and the two Lists were both stuff of legends to these people, and the warriors on them even more so.

Naturally, they had only ever heard of the Ghost Doctor. They had never seen him with their own eyes.

So, how were they able to recognize the Ghost Doctor? Because of the unnaturally tall square crown he was wearing and the lines on it.

Legend had it that the Ghost Doctor loved wearing a square crown, a tall hat, or both with the lines, “ “I treat the vilest villains, and save the ghouliest ghouls.” It was practically his signature as no one in their right mind would dare to copy his style.

Naturally, everyone in the restaurant was shocked when they recognized the Ghost Doctor.

They were even more shocked that the elite of the Earth Champions Ranking was currently being held by the neck and dragged across the floor like a pup. To say it was humiliating would be an understatement.

Everyone’s gaze eventually settled on the young man. They were all watching him with shock, curiosity, and fear.

They were shocked because the infamous Ghost Doctor was as helpless as a pup before the young man. They were also shocked that the charming youngster who was chatting and drinking with them just a moment ago had suddenly revealed himself to be a champion.

They were curious about his identity as well. Who was he, and how was he so powerful?

And finally, they were afraid because they didn’t know if the youngster was a good-natured person, or the opposite, not to mention that they had ridiculed him a short while ago. It was entirely possible that the youngster might choose to torture them for revenge or silence them to keep what he did today a secret.

It was only now the young man seemed to notice their attention and give them a smile. Whatever his intentions might be, at least his smile was as bright as the stars and as warm as the sun as before.

With that done, the young man turned his head and looked at an old woman standing at a corner of the restaurant.

The old woman was wearing a colorful outfit and colorful feathers on her head. Wrinkly and hunch-backed, she gave off the thick scent of incense and cinnabar.

This was normal. Or rather, weird people were a dime a dozen in the jianghu. It was nothing to be surprised about.

What was unusual was the fact that not a single one of them had noticed her existence until the young man had directed his attention at her. Logically speaking, it would be impossible not to notice such a peculiar person.

“So? They’ve all finished their turns. How much longer are you going to wait?”

The young man smiled at the old woman while dropping God Bow and Ghost Doctor on the floor.

“I’m not confident in my chances,” The old woman replied while dipping her fingers in a jar of Westwind Hunt and using her fingers—so soaked in incense that they appeared blackened—to draw a bunch of incomprehensible drawings and runes across the table.

“Is that why you sent this worthless garbage to test me?” The young man asked while pointing at the Ghost Doctor.

He did not point at the Four Renegades because the Four Renegades were just puppets under the Ghost Doctor’s control.

There were thirteen silver needles in the Four Renegades’ brains. It was none other than the Ghost Doctor’s unique secret art, the Thirteen Needles of the Gates of Hell.

The Thirteen Needles of the Gates of Hell couldn’t just be used to treat a patient. It could also be used to kill people and take control of them.

Anyone afflicted by the Thirteen Needles of the Gates of Hell would fall under the Ghost Doctor’s control. He would be able to save them or kill them at a whim. Not only that, the Thirteen Needles of the Gates of Hell could ignite the victim’s vitality in one go in exchange for several times their normal power.

That was how Fast Sword, Mad Saber, Ghost Axe and God Bow had performed well above the level of a Half-Step Trueman earlier.

It went without saying that the price of igniting one’s vitality was massive. The victim was basically useless after the ignition.

The Ghost Doctor obviously did not give a shit about his victims’ wellbeing though. In his eyes, the Four Renegades were just tools to be used to achieve his objective. If he could achieve his objective, then it did not matter if his tools were consumed. He could simply acquire more of them. Their wellbeing had never once crossed through his mind.

This was also why the Four Renegades had fought with zero regard for their own wellbeing earlier.

The Ghost Doctor wasn’t operating alone though. The old woman was one of his allies.

1. Don’t ask me how anyone recognized Fast Sword when he supposedly got Thanos-snapped. ☜

2. Okay this is pure bs it couldn’t be any clearer that he was dead in the narration author literally added 身死道消 at the end of Fast Sword’s section to emphasize he’s dead asf so wtf is this nonsense? Whatever, one of the most obvious plotholes in the story so far. ☜
