“This will be your first and last warning.” The voice warned before saying, “Anyway, I must have him today. Do you understand?”

The youngster promised, “Do not worry, Celestial Sovereign. I’ve made all the necessary preparations. This time, he won’t escape even if he has three heads and six arms.”

“Very good.” The voice reminded, “Remember, I want him alive! He must not die no matter what!”

“The East Radiance Mountain’s ‘Flower Viewing In the Mist’ really is quite something.”

Inside a Taoist monastery at East Radiance Mountain, a man wearing a fox coat and silken robe was sipping a fragrant tea under a parasol tree. The sky was dark, and the light shining out of the monastery was blending into the vapor and creating soft, gentle hues of light. It made the man look handsome yet mysterious.

“Would you like to give it a try?”

Behind him, an ordinary-looking old man answered, “Thank you for the offer, Boss, but this slave only enjoys wine.”

Despite his servant’s rejection, the young man did not take offense. He answered lazily, “When you drink tea, you are drinking in the atmosphere. When you drink wine, you are drinking the jianghu. They have their own respective advantages.”

“When are we starting, Boss?” The old man looked up and gazed into the distance, seemingly peering through the countless layers of fog and trees and staring straight at the youngster who was shining like the sun and moon on the Unbounded Platform.

“Patience. At first, I thought this so-called East Radiance meet would be a childish game featuring mostly boring characters. However, there are a lot more interesting characters than I thought.”

Still sipping his tea, the young man said, “The plan was simply to kill one man, but I changed my mind. It would be a shame and a waste of an opportunity to stick to the plan, wouldn’t it?”

“What is your new plan then, Boss?” The old man asked.

“Since we’re already here, we might as well go for broke.”

The man smiled. “Killing ten is the same as killing one, isn’t it? In fact, let’s just kill everyone on this mountain.”

“Considering how many of mine they had killed, it’s only proper that I repay the favor, is it not?”

High up in the night sky, nine luans whose body and wings were completely made up of moonlight were flying in circles and casting their light at the Unbounded Platform, illuminating it so bright that it felt like daytime. They looked so fantastical it was like a dream.

These nine Moon Birds had suddenly flown down from the moon after nighttime arrived. Then, they began circling above the Unbounded Platform as if they could sense what was going on; as if they were celebrating the newfound vibrance that was taking place on East Radiance Mountain.

Right now, two people were fighting on the Unbounded Platform.
