Stranger Danger-Chapter 1813: Ignorantly Foolish
“Not one of you will escape, humans!”
The Endless Lord of Plagues let out a shrill laugh that sounded like it contained the dying screams of countless living beings. It was spine-chilling and soul-freezing to put it mildly. “Today, this is where you all die! I will turn your bodies into rotten flesh and your souls into dirty pus water! I will make you beg for the sweet mercy of death! I will submerge you all into eternal pain and despair!”
“You think a pile of rotten flesh like you can kill us?”
The Old Heavenly Master spat on the ground and laughed boisterously. “One should take a piss and check out their ugly face first before they make such a claim!”
The rest of the Sages flung scathing, merciless insults at the Evil as well.
“You ants!”
Like pouring oil to fire, the taunts fanned the flames that was the Endless Lord of Plagues’ anger to unprecedented heights. Its voice became incredibly shrill as it yelled with infinite rage and bloodthirst, “You know not the limits of the sky or the earth! You know not the true depths of my power! Today, I shall show you the true meaning of despair!”
Flesh and blood began pouring out of the underground even more furiously after the roar. It took just an instant for the ground within dozens of kilometers to succumb to a despairing sea of flesh and blood.
Dirty blood and pus bubbled, and rotten flesh and blood stirred like a tidal wave. The air was filled with a suffocating stench just as disgusting as the sight.
The next moment, the Chief Libationist and more clashed against the Endless Lord of Plagues once more.
The rotten flesh pouring out of the underground seemed endless. It was as if they could grow infinitely.
The Sages were losing strength and becoming slower bit by bit, but the Endless Lord of Plagues was only growing stronger.
“Kekekeke...”
The Endless Lord of Plagues’ arrogant, scornful, and ridiculing laughter resounded throughout the area. “Ants are ultimately just ants. How foolish are you to think that you can topple a great tree that holds up the very sky?”
When the Chief Libationist heard this, a tiny smirk spread across his face as he responded, “Did you forget your brain in the underground when you awakened, Endless Lord of Plagues?”
The question confused the Endless Lord of Plagues. “What do you mean?”
“You can’t even understand something this simple? Tsk tsk, as expected of a brainless puddle of rotten gore!” The Old Heavenly Master spoke up while stroking his beard.
The Endless Lord of Plagues was stupefied as first. Then, realization struck it, and it blew its top with even greater anger, “You dare call me brainless! Die! You all must die!”
The sea of flesh and blood churned fiercely in response.
“You refuse to admit your folly?”
The Chief Libationist remained calm despite the Endless Lord of Plagues’ wrath. “If you really do have a brain, you would realize that you are the one whose time is numbered right now, not us.”
The Endless Lord of Plagues was so furious it barked out a shrill, ear-piercing laugh. “Death is upon you, and still you do not recognize your mistake! You humans really are treacherous, despicable creatures with more bark than bite!”
Haotian Hong sneered with unbridled disdain. “The Chief Libationist was practically paying you a compliment when he called you brainless. You’re not brainless, you’re just dumb! You’re so dumb it’s a miracle you managed to survive natural selection! How is it that you still do not realize that one of us is missing?”
“Missing? Who is missing?”
Shock rippled through the Endless Lord of Plagues like thunder. At least half of its arrogance evaporated just like that.
Suddenly, a bolt of inspiration flashed through its mind, and the Endless Lord of Plagues abruptly recalled the young man wielding the Earthly Sovereign Bell—Ye Qing!
The Endless Lord of Plagues hurriedly scanned its surroundings, but the young man was nowhere to be found.
Did he escape? The thought flashed through its mind, but an inexplicable sense of unease and fear gripped its heart.
It just had this feeling that things could not be this simple.
The Endless Lord of Plagues was still puzzled and shaken when suddenly, unprecedented pain erupted from every corner of its body!
“Argh—!” The Endless Lord of Plagues let out a shrill, bloodcurdling scream. It was full of pain and disbelief.
It could feel that its flesh and blood were rapidly disintegrating and crumbling to pieces. For some reason, its potent power of plagues were attacking its own master!
Its consciousness receded like a tidal wave, and the Endless Lord of Plagues rapidly extended its senses to the underground instead.
That was when he finally saw the young man who called himself Ye Qing once more.
Right now, Ye Qing was standing in front of a heart.
The heart was massive like a mountain. The mere look of it was enough to make someone feel suffocated.
The heart was an organ that overflowed with life, but this one was ugly and rotten.
Its surface was covered in densely packed holes like it had been feasted upon by countless insects. It was a gruesome sight.
The rotten blood vessels were entangled and stacked on top of each other like countless twisted serpents, forming a skin-crawling pattern. Each blood vessel was writhing soundlessly and emanating the stench of death.
The inside of the heart was only worse.
Dirty yellow pus was flowing slowly between the crevices of the heart like sticky marsh water. They gave off smelly, stifling wafts of gas.
Of course, it was no ordinary pus. It contained an indescribable amount of filth and plague. One look was almost enough to contaminate one’s mind and drop them into a bottomless abyss.
Nine mysterious stone pillars were erected around the gigantic heart.
The stone pillars were thick, heavy, and dark yellow in color. They were inscribed with old and mysterious patterns. Each and every pattern seemed to speak the absolute principles of the world and give off a rich and pure power of earth and dark yellow.
There was no doubt that the nine stone pillars were the items the Earthly Sovereign used to suppress the Endless Lord of Plagues.
Right now though, the nine stone pillars were covered in scratches and cracks. In fact, four of them had shattered completely and lost their original luster and strength. The remaining five stone pillars were covered in densely packed cracks that resembled spider webs. They looked like they could collapse at any moment. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Even more terrifying was the fact that the rotten heart was beating strongly.
Thump—thump—thump—
Every heartbeat felt like the muffled roar of an ancient, gigantic beast. It shook the world and knocked at Ye Qing’s heart like a battering ram, making him feel uneasy and afraid.
Every heartbeat felt like the wails and cries of countless living beings. They were overflowing with sorrow and despair, pain and hatred. It could chill anyone to their core.
Every heartbeat caused the cracks on the stone pillars to spread and grow like living creatures, straining them and threatening their integrity evermore.
Every heartbeat caused large quantities of rotten flesh and dirty pus to leak out of the holes and crevices covering the heart and combine into floods of disgusting gore, spreading in every direction.
Everything touched by the floods of gore was eroded into nothing. The land itself had turned into a barren wasteland.
This gigantic, rotten heart was the source of the Endless Lord of Plagues’ strength.
