STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 757: Library
5th Zone, City-A
Jeremy Night rested in his room. He forgot about the outside noise.
That evening, he left the room and went downstairs. He passed through the busy lobby.
He ignored the crowd and walked out of the building. He then approached a cab driver and told the driver his destination.
He entered the car and sat in the back seat.
Shortly afterwards, the car departed. It left the gated community. He was going to a bookstore. There were many bookstores in the city.
Before leaving the room, he had done some research. He knew one of the bookstores in the city was a huge store with a massive library facility.
10 minutes later,
[Central Bookstore]
The car pulled up in front of the shop. He stepped out of the car and paid the fare to the driver.
Then, he turned towards the store. He read the huge signboard. After taking a glance at the board, he walked into the bookstore.
He saw a wide, spacious hall. The hall was filled with shelves, and the shelves were filled with rows of books.
He approached the admin desk. There was a female staff member behind the desk. He made his request.
He wanted to know about weapon techniques. Especially, he wanted to learn about sword moves.
The female staff member wasn’t surprised. She knew Beast Tamers who had weapon-type talents. They would come to the library to learn about weapon techniques.
She showed him the exact row where the books about swords could be found. Jeremy thanked her and went towards the section.
He saw that there weren’t many people here.
The place was quiet. His focus shifted to the bookshelves. He picked a random book and started reading the description.
The book was about basic sword moves. He took the book and went to a desk. He sat down and started reading. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
He had read about basic sword moves before. Now, he once again read the basic information. His foundation further strengthened.
He knew the basic information was about the basics of the katana. The intermediate stage was about multiple strikes, distance, and control.
His sword skill had entered the intermediate stage. He could handle distance and control. He had used multiple strikes against corrupted beasts before.
There was still a large gap before the next stage: the advanced stage. The advanced stage was all about awareness. He was yet to reach that level.
Following that were the expert and void stages. The expert stage, as the name suggests, was about mastering the sword skill.
The last stage was an unknown stage—the void stage. This stage couldn’t be explained. The same thing was explained in this book; it didn’t have information about the void stage.
Jeremy was not surprised. He stood up and placed the book back on the racks. He then went through other books. The reason he had wanted to come here was different.
He knew about sword skills, but he wanted to know about a mysterious power. He thought that mysterious power was related to the "Blade One-Move."
So, he looked for books about sword techniques. He found one. He grabbed the book and went back to his seat.
On the other hand, three people walked into the bookstore. All three of them were middle-aged men with scars on their faces.
They didn’t seem to be the type who read books. They approached the female staff member. The staff member was shocked, but she was not afraid. There were cameras installed here.
One of the middle-aged men showed his device. "Did this person come to the store?" he asked.
The female staff member saw the picture. She was surprised. The picture of the person on the device was the one who had come earlier.
She saw that the three middle-aged men were Tier-4 Beast Tamers. She didn’t want to offend them.
She pointed towards the section. Seeing that, the three middle-aged men nodded. The three of them looked at each other before going towards the section. Then, they saw their target was studying there.
The three middle-aged men were none other than informers for the Darkshade Organization. They sat opposite him.
Jeremy frowned. He could tell that the three middle-aged men were looking at him. Their gazes were unkind.
Jeremy Night’s eyes turned cold. He was sure that they had come with bad intentions.
But he didn’t know which force they belonged to. He lowered the book and looked at them. All three of them were dressed in black clothes.
There were no badges on their chests, so he couldn’t guess their background.
He ignored them and continued to read the book. The book talked about different types of weapon techniques. After the mutation era, Beast Tamers had awakened various talents.
Among them, there was a section of people who awakened weapon-type talents. Initially, they fought without any sword moves.
Later on, they developed their own sword methods related to their talent.
Some awakened the broadsword. Others awakened the short sword, knife, saber, or other talents.
But he had awakened a body-type talent. He didn’t know whether he could create a sword move or not.
The three middle-aged men were confused. They didn’t speak for a reason. They knew their target was named Jeremy Night.
He had awakened a body-type talent, so they didn’t know why he was reading about sword moves.
"Kid, if you have any doubts, you can ask me. I use a short sword," one of the middle-aged men said.
Hearing that, Jeremy was stunned. He lowered the book and looked at them.
"May I know... what do you guys want?" Jeremy asked them.
The three middle-aged men grinned.
"Nothing, we have come here to read books," the second person said.
But Jeremy was sure they had come here with bad intentions. He was in no hurry to expose them, however.
"Then tell me about sword techniques. What is so special about them?" Jeremy asked him.
Hearing that middle aged men were shocked. They were surprised by the target’s courage to speak to them.
