STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 770: Finding the remains
5th Zone, Wilderness
The Hideout
"What’s going on here?" a slightly obese, Tier-6 Beast Tamer shouted.
The other Tier-6 Beast Tamers and team members immediately acted.
Boom!
Everyone summoned their lifeline beasts. One after another, massive beasts landed on the ground. They ranged from ground types to flight types.
Swoosh!
The flight-type beasts spread across the area to find the enemies, while the ground-type beasts started their search below.
The Tier-6 Beast Tamers used their lifeline beasts to thoroughly scan the area.
In the nighttime, other dangerous beasts roamed the wilderness looking for prey. The sudden appearance of so many lifeline beasts had startled them as well.
There are differences between corrupted beasts and lifeline beasts. If lifeline beasts continued to stay on the ground at night, it would enrage the corrupted beasts, and a fight would eventually break out.
The Darkshade members were aware of that danger as well, but they had no choice right now. Someone had come to their hideout and slain two of their members.
The Tier-6 Beast Tamers understood it was the work of an enemy and that the enemy was definitely a Beast Tamer.
The heads had been cut down neatly, and there were no other scratches on the bodies. If it had been done by corrupted beasts, the bodies would have been eaten completely.
Time passed.
The lifeline beasts overturned the surrounding areas, but they didn’t find any human Beast Tamers nearby. On the contrary, the corrupted beasts were roaming and enraged.
Some of the corrupted beasts, feeling offended by the presence of the lifeline beasts, started moving towards the hideout.
The Tier-6 Beast Tamers and other members felt the corrupted beasts noticing them, so they recalled their lifeline beasts.
The Tier-6 Beast Tamers gave orders, and they returned to the hideout. Before leaving, they took the corpses with them.
They were all angry and disappointed. Someone had come to their place and sneakily killed two of their people. If the higher-ups learned of this, they would be even angrier.
Unfortunately, they didn’t see anyone. Not a single clue was found.
Meanwhile
Jeremy sat inside a crevice of a secluded mountain rock. He was checking the device to gather more information; he wanted to do it before the battery ran out of power.
He had no intention of fighting against a professional criminal organization like the Darkshade Organization.
He went through the device and was able to learn the identities of the members. He took his own device and started recording. The images inside were enough to identify who the members were.
An hour later, he broke the device and threw away the parts. He stood up and left the crevice.
He used his eye power to check the surroundings. He saw the corrupted beasts still roaming outside, but he had not seen Jeffery and his team. He figured they had gone out on a mission.
He had entered the wilderness at a bad time, but he pushed those thoughts down. He had a mission as well, which he had almost forgotten.
If it were anyone else, they would hide during the night and ignore the mission, but Jeremy had his eye power.
He decided to use the nighttime to look for the corpses of the Red Moon Chamber members. Who knew? He might even come across Darkshade members as well. Jeremy collected his thoughts and left the mountain rock.
He knew where the Beast Tide had hit, so he started moving towards that destination. His movement range was within the inner area.
Two hours later, Jeremy arrived at the Beast Tide area. The ground was dyed the color of blood.
The smell of blood and rotting corpses lingered in the air. If he hadn’t controlled himself, he would have puked already.
Jeremy used his eye power to survey the surroundings. He saw many mutilated corpses on the ground. His heart stirred; it wasn’t the first time he had seen this.
He took a deep breath before looking for signs of the Red Moon Chamber members. His gaze passed over the area.
Roar!
Suddenly, hyena beasts appeared in his sight. They were coming for food; they wouldn’t let the corpses go to waste. Jeremy’s eyes turned cold. He unsheathed his katana blade.
If he fought here, it would lead to an ugly situation, who knew how many more corrupted beasts might appear?
Jeremy kept his eyes on the beasts while continuing his search. It didn’t take long for him to find clothes belonging to the Red Moon Chamber: a shirt belonging to a male Beast Tamer.
He moved toward it and saw a skeleton on the ground with some rotten flesh.
He took out a coffin-like box and picked up the skeleton amidst the stench. He placed the remains inside the box, closed the cover, and put it inside his storage ring.
Roar!
A Tier-4 hyena beast attacked him from behind. Jeremy’s senses screamed at him. He caught the beast in his peripheral vision and made a reverse slash. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Slash!
The blade swept across the abdomen of the beast.
Puchak!
The abdomen was cleaved in two. A torrent of blood gushed forth from the wound. The next second, Jeremy moved away from the spot as the hyena’s body dropped dead.
Jeremy looked at the other beasts. They weren’t moving an inch forward. He pointed his blade toward them.
The hyenas looked at the corpses on the ground; the blood of the dead was more attractive than a fight. They dragged away the corpses one by one and disappeared into the bushes.
Seeing that, Jeremy sighed in relief. He had been worried about wasting time. He shifted his attention back to the ground and started searching for the members again.
The whole area was littered with blood, and his boots were already soaked. Jeremy wanted to collect the remains of as many members as possible.
The hyena beasts didn’t cause any further problems. They were busy eating the remains of the corpse. There are many corpses available here.
So they forgot about the Human Beast Tamer.
