Strongest Demigod System-Chapter 43: Queen of The Damned

Maddison put her hand out and called out her ability.

[Queen of The Damned]

Rumble~! Rumble~!

The hall began to rumble from the output of Divine Essence, and the simulation AI immediately came to life once more.

[The presence of Divine Essence has been detected in the arena. The combatants cannot use Divine Essence unless both participants agree to it. Do the combatants agree to the use of Divine Essence in the duel?]

"I agree."

Maddison spoke up quickly with a small smile as her eyes stayed locked on Azrael, and Azrael pointed his sword toward her without bothering to change his expression.

"I agree."

[Agreement accepted. Henceforth, the combatants are allowed to use Divine Essence in the duel.]

The rumbling continued in the hall, and Azrael took a step back as he saw something tear itself out from a hole that appeared on the ground. It was a human hand, and it pulled out what looked like some sort of zombie. The creature had withered, black skin, and its attire was made up of dirty, torn clothes. It looked like a man, but when the dark empty holes that were supposed to be the eyes turned to look at Azrael, Azrael knew that this was anything but a man.

More of them began to tear themselves out from the ground as well to join the first one. All of them either had regular clothes or torn clothes, but they all had the same black, withered skin.

Finally, after about five of them pulled themselves out from the ground, one more hand shot out from the ground and joined them. This one was human as well, but just from its presence alone, Azrael could tell that this was a different monster from the rest. It had dark skin that had not withered yet and a white beard. In its hand, it held a sword that it brandished toward Azrael threateningly.

Maddison moved to the wall at the side and grabbed another cylinder. She then ordered the old man to throw his sword to the side before she tossed the cylinder to him and transformed it into a sword.

Maddison then spoke up.

"This is my full power, Azrael. I can summon back the mortal bodies of any creature that I watch die. They are returned to the peak of their physical state, and I can order them to fight against any enemy. Most of the people who died in front of me were regular humans in hospitals, but the man with the sword was the first demigod I saw die.

"He was my grandfather, but now, he's just a mindless creature waiting for my orders. My grandfather was an A Rank in his mortal body before he died, and even though I can't use all of it, he'll still be stronger than a D Rank. I hope you aren't regretting asking me to use it now."

Maddison twirled her scythe around while grinning at Azrael, and Azrael could feel a strange excitement bubbling up from somewhere deep inside his belly. Yeah, this was it! This is what it meant to be a demigod!

This is the sort of power Azrael expected from someone that claimed to be blessed by a fucking god!

"Regret? I don't know the meaning of that fucking word! How about you stop talking and come at me already!"

Maddison laughed when she saw the pure excitement on Azrael's face, and she wasted no time as she put her hand forward and commanded her minions to attack!

All the creatures shot forward towards Azrael! The regular humans were far slower than the demigod, so Maddison's grandfather was the first person to reach Azrael, with his sword high in the air!

Clang!

Azrael easily deflected the sword to the side and dodged around as he was almost skewered by another slash from the grandfather! Azrael rolled to the side and slashed across the neck of one of the humans that tried to climb on him! The humans disappeared in a puff of black dust before another one replaced it and tackled Azrael through the midsection!

BAM!

Azrael planted his feet into the ground and stopped himself from sliding back, and he had to immediately duck his head as a scythe flew across where his neck had just been!

WOOSH!

Azrael grabbed the human and threw it towards Maddison, and Maddison twirled around and avoided it before she dashed forward, with her grandfather leading the way. The grandfather sent a slash for Azrael, and Azrael blocked it before he had to shoulder tackle the grandfather out of the way to avoid another slash from Maddison! Maddison twirled her scythe and tried to tear through Azrael's midsection, and Azrael immediately used his sword to block it! Azrael moved into Maddison's personal space and did an insane spin above her scythe before slamming his leg into her stomach!

BAM!

Maddison grunted as she was thrown to the side, but Azrael couldn't rest as he was immediately assaulted by the grandfather!

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Azrael had to focus completely as he tried his best to get through the grandfather's swordplay! Maddison hadn't been joking when she said that the summons were at the peak of their abilities! Even though Azrael knew he was physically stronger than the summons, its swordplay was absolutely flawless, and that gave it an advantage that allowed it to hold on against Azrael for this long!

Azrael blocked another two hits from the grandfather before he slashed his sword behind him to sever the head of a human that tried to attack his blindspot! Azrael ducked under a slash from the grandfather and tackled him to the ground before grabbing him by the shirt and chucking him out of the way angrily!

BOOM!

The grandfather slammed into the wall of the arena hard, and Azrael quickly turned around to attack Maddison once again!

Azrael dropped backward in a display of unbelievable agility to avoid a swipe from Maddison's scythe that traveled straight through the area where his head had been! Azrael felt something bubbling in his stomach, and it wasn't long before it came out from Azrael as a mad laugh!

This is far better than he thought it would be!

Azrael rolled to the side and avoided another slash from Maddison! Maddison twirled the scythe in the air with a serious expression on her face and released a series of attacks on Azrael that forced him to deflect each one! Azrael's sword blurred in the air as silver clashed against silver!

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

In the midst of all this, Azrael was still dealing with the remaining humans that were in the fight!

Azrael cut the head off the final human before he deflected Maddison's blade again and sent another kick at her stomach! This time, Maddison managed to use the shaft of her blade to block it at the last second, but that gave Azrael enough space to plant his feet and shoot his head forward in a resounding headbutt!

BANG!

"Argh!"

Maddison cried out as she felt her head ringing, and she fell to her knees as her grandfather prepared from behind her and started a new series of attacks on Azrael!

Throughout all this, Azrael had a wide smile on his face as he deflected two of the attacks and stepped into the grandfather's space! The grandfather tried to step back to make space, but Azrael grabbed his sword arm and flipped his body over the arm to bring the grandfather down to the ground and into an arm lock!

Azrael held the arm with his legs, and used his free arm to grab the grandfather by the hair before he brought his sword down on his throat with that wide smile still on his face!

SQUELCH!

The grandfather was killed, and he burst into a spray of black dust immediately! Azrael fell back flat as the scythe flew across where he had just been, and he laughed as he heard Maddison curse!

"Just fucking let me hit you!"
