Strongest Necromancer System-Chapter 621: A Chain of Reactions
Stella knew that she had been bested by this creature, and that she was going to die here, but maybe this was what a coward like her deserved.
’Maybe this is punishment for my sins. After all my failures, this is the most fitting end I could’ve hoped for.’
Stella looked up into the bright blue moon one last time before she was finally pulled into the darkness, and the worm closed its mouth with a massive ’boom!’.
[Horizontal Slash] has been activated!
What happened next was so sudden and unexpected that the Giant worm never even saw it coming! At one moment, the dune worm was savouring its victory against Stella, but at the next moment, there was a surge of power that shot through the region and pressed down on the worm like the hand of death itself! The worm never even dared to try and see where the power was coming from! The moment it felt the power, its survival instincts kicked in, and it immediately turned and tried to dive back into the sand! The worm knew without a shadow of a doubt that this was a power that it could not stand up against! If it tried to fight this, then it would die!
The worm’s head slammed into the sand as it began to dig, but before it could go anywhere, a purple light slashed across the worm’s body in one simple motion! The worm stilled as the entire region went silent, and in the next second, a massive river of blood poured out from its body as it fell to the ground in two halves and died!
On the other side of the desert, Jason clicked his tongue in irritation, and Gina just laughed from behind him as she said.
"I can’t believe you chased it all the way out here."
....
[A few minutes earlier]
[With Jason and Gina.]
Jason and Gina walked up the slope of a large dune on Bi’Nazin, and Jason let out a calm sigh when he reached the top and gazed out over the beautiful blue desert. Gina came up from behind, and Jason reached out and helped her up the mountain before both of them looked out on the horizon together. After they left Vanta behind, Jason and Gina travelled quickly across multiple worlds, and right now, Jason could tell that they were extremely close to their final destination. They had stopped on this world because there was an oasis where they could wash up and rest, and Jason was just trying to enjoy some peace before they continued their journey.
"It’s beautiful out here. It looks like an ocean of sand."
Gina spoke up as she leaned against Jason’s chest, and Jason smiled in agreement. This world was really beautiful, and he wouldn’t mind coming back some other time. Jason and Gina had been on this trip to Riyad for the better part of three months now, and even though Jason knew that his family, both on Earth and Radagan, were doing alright since he could monitor them through his subordinates, there was no denying the fact that he missed them. Knowing that they were alright just wasn’t enough; Jason wanted to talk to them and see how they were really doing. He missed his mother and his sisters, and he missed Riyala as well.
Since they were close to the end, Jason had been keeping an eye out for any Machina soldiers, but he hadn’t seen anyone at all, and Jason realised that ever since the fight against the Beast of the Apocalypse on Hanir, he hadn’t seen any Machina soldiers at all. That could only mean one of two things. Either the Machina were seriously affected by that battle, and they decided to stop chasing him, or the Machina were preparing a massive attack for later.
’Well, it doesn’t matter. I’m not the same SSS Rank that they knew, so I’ll give them hell whenever they come. Just a few more worlds. Once we go through a few more worlds, we’ll finally reach Riyad and end this nonsense.’
Jason sighed calmly, and he was about to tell Gina to get ready to start moving again, but both of them were surprised when they felt a massive tremor travel across the ground. Jason turned around sharply to look at the oasis that they had been bathing in. Some of Jason’s subordinates, like Ragnar and Raya, were still lying close to the water, and there were many bags that contained camping gear lying on the ground as well. But Jason felt his eyes widen when a massive worm suddenly erupted from the ground and swallowed the entire oasis, along with Jason’s subordinates and all their bags!
[The User’s subordinate [Ragnar] has been killed....]
[The user’s subordinate [Raya] has been killed....]
The worm slammed into the ground once it was done before it dug into the sand and quickly vanished from sight, and Jason’s eye twitched as he heard Gina gasp in shock beside him.
"Oh no, it ate our bags. All the food Betsha gave us was in there."
Jason’s eye twitched again once he heard this, and he felt a surge of raw irritation rising from deep inside his heart as he remembered that they hadn’t eaten anything all day. The dune worm didn’t know it, but it was this singular act that would lead to its death in the next few minutes. The dune worm continued towards a nest of Fire Salamanders and chased them until it reached the caravan of Nazins, and then it faced off against Stella and managed to win its battle. But before it could devour her fully, Jason and Gina caught up to it, and Jason managed to tear it apart in no time at all.

"Jason, do you think our bags will be alright?"
"No way, this bastard probably digested them already, and even if it hasn’t, there’s no way the food is still edible. I wish I kept it alive a little longer to torture it. We haven’t eaten anything all day."
"Hey, don’t be like that. Maybe the worm is edible? We can cook it and see how it tastes..."
Jason grimaced once Gina said this, and he shook his head.
"Nah, I don’t think so, let’s just get going. We can get something to eat if we run into a town on the way."
Jason was about to leave the worm behind, but he stopped when Gina suddenly caught his attention.
"Babe, what’s that over there? There’s something inside the worm."
