Struggling as a Villain-Chapter 298 297- The final push(3)
[A few minutes ago]
Emily was lying down on the stretcher, which was brought to the front of the airship.
Along with her, Rena, Ben, and the other generals stationed at the Crimson Clan's HQ were sent to the battlefield.
Lena and a few others with about a thousand soldiers were left in the headquarters.
It was a topic of debate whether to send such a major part of the army to the other world. However, Emily said that there was something wrong ... she felt it, on the other side. She had a feeling that even the thousand soldiers they were taking originally, might not be enough.
That's why Lena didn't think twice before sending as many soldiers as possible to the other side and command was given to Jennifer.
She was their navigator, directing them toward the battlefield, which was about two hundred miles away from Eldoria.
Thanks to the massive thrusters of modern airships, they could travel at a high pace.
However, never in their wildest dream, did anyone thought what they would be witnessing when they arrived at the war zone.
"What…the hell are those?"
"This war is no longer between two sides...or is it?"
"It's raining…hell."
The voices of the soldiers rang in the cockpit, as Emily looked at the battlefield with a frown of concern.
She could see the army of undead—the beings with rotting flesh and decaying bones—attacking both sides; dark side and light as well.
More than fifty apostles were dead, and hundreds of soldiers on their side were slaughtered by those filthy creatures.
"What are they…" Rena asked as her eyes remained affixed on the two figures standing in the middle of the battlefield.
Somehow, despite knowing that there were two individuals, she could not see their true form, as if they were nothing but a gathering of lights. One clad in brilliant illumination and one swallowed by abyssal darkness.
And for some strange reason, any undead wasn't attacking them—or more like they couldn't, as a strange magic field surrounded the duo and kept the inhumane away from them.
"We shouldn't focus on that, for now." Emily muttered before she commanded, "Rain fire."
Jennifer received the command before she communicated through the comms, "Rain fire! Destroy the horde near our forces. Team Charlie, ready to engage!"
The command was heard as the small drones from the huge airships were launched.
The air carriers were kept away from the battlefield since Emily realized that there were no fixed summoning points for this undead.
Several drones zipped through the sky, their metal frames gleaming under the crimson glow of fire and chaos. With mechanical precision, they locked onto the undead horde swarming below.
Then—hell rained down.
Explosions ripped through the battlefield, sending shattered bones and rotting flesh flying in all directions. The ground shook as fire engulfed the monstrous creatures, their twisted forms screeching as they burned. But still, more of them came.
Jennifer's voice crackled through the comms. "Direct hit, but they're still moving! Reinforcements incoming!"
Emily's eyes darted across the battlefield. The undead were endless, crawling over their fallen like rabid beasts. The drones were holding them back, but not for long.
"Charlie, go now!" she barked.
A squad of warriors bursts forward from cover, blades glowing with rune light as they clash into the fray. Bella raised her hand, fire surging from her fingertips. The flames roared to life, cutting through the darkness like a blade of light.
Lilia moved like a shadow, darting between the chaos, striking with lethal precision. One by one, the undead collapsed around her, their corrupted magic dispersing into the air.
But then, a new sound rose above the battlefield—a deep, guttural growl.
Emily's breath hitched. "Something's coming," she whispered.
A towering figure emerged from the smoke, clad in ancient, rusted armor. Unlike the others, its eyes burned with a sickly green glow. The horde parted around me as if sensing the power that radiated from its massive form.
Jennifer cursed. "We've got a warlord."
And then—it charged.
The huge figure left cracks wherever it stepped as it rushed toward Bella with its rusty sword held high.
Bella summoned her telekinetic threads and hurled a massive chunk of the broken tank toward the incoming monster. However—
**BOOOOM**
It was easily bisected by the monster as it continued its march,
Bella chanted a six-circle spell—hell blaze, dark crimson flames surged to life and advanced toward the being.
A spell having the capability to devour anything it touched, however,
—The monster didn't stop.
The hellish flames crashed into its rusted armor, swirling around its massive form like a hungry beast. The ground sizzled, the air burned—but the creature kept moving.
Bella's eyes widened. Impossible!
The warlord swung its sword, and the sheer force of the motion sent a shockwave through the air. The crimson flames scattered, unable to consume the darkness clinging to the creature's body.

Bellarine shouted, "Bella, move!!"
But the warlord was too fast. It lunged, its rusted blade slicing through the air, aiming straight for Bella's head.
A blur of motion—
Lilia slammed into Bella, knocking her aside just as the sword struck. A deafening boom echoed as the impact sent a shockwave tearing through the battlefield.
Dust and debris flew everywhere.
Jennifer's panicked voice rang through the comms. "Status?! Someone respond!"
The cloud of dust cleared the white sight, making everyone's eyes widen.
"KHAK!" A figure, clad in silver flames, his hair defying gravity, stood as the emissary of light while holding the sword of the undead giant.
Lilian was fallen on the ground; her eyes widened as she saw an unexpected person protecting her.
"E-Ethan?"
The said boy gritted his teeth as he spat, "Move!"
Lilia didn't delay a second before dashing away.
The divine essence flared to life, Ethan's sword returning to him as he released the hold from the enemy's sword and held his own.
With a scowl, he muttered, "It's time to end this farce."
