Chapter 446: We Start Now

What saved me was the fact that I believed with all of my heart that Bradon was thinking about us and that he truly believed that this was the best option for us and our future together. Without knowing why, my heart and mind had already decided to trust him.

"We’ll make it. If we’re together, somehow, I feel like we will make it through anything. You know, just like we always have so far," I said, while sounding so certain.

"For our future, and for you to stay here safely in this country, we have to establish ourselves properly. I can’t have you living in hiding the way that I have lived. In a way, this is an opportunity from Desmond for us to start a new life together," he explained.

"I get what you mean. It’s an opportunity for sure, but it is also a challenge," I replied solemnly.

"A challenge that we will get through together. We’ll figure it out, help each other along the way, and we can build our future together this way. What do you think?" Bradon suggested warmly.

The smile that he showed me was filled with hope and dreams for the future. It made me feel like I couldn’t refuse him, and I had to do everything that he asked of me. He made me want to believe that everything would turn out for the better.

"Being the First Lady is going to be challenging," I said teasingly before beaming him a smile.

Although I was very stressed just a moment ago, I found myself smiling like a young girl without a care so easily. I wasn’t entirely joking when I said that it would be challenging. Stepping into politics with Desmond’s backing was a major move, and one that perhaps we couldn’t entirely take back no matter how hard we may want to. After living a life being scrutinized by the public, I wasn’t sure if that was what I had in mind for my future.

"Should be much easier compared to being queen," Bradon replied before he winked at me.

I bursted out laughing quite loudly and uncontrollably. Without any experience in being a queen or a first lady, I had no data to go by on which role would be more challenging. However, it was true that I had gotten too close to becoming queen not so long ago in the past.

"I guess you’re right about that," I replied as I tried my best to stop laughing.

"This move will hopefully help us start fresh, although our lives wouldn’t exactly be normal," Bradon said.

"It’s fine. It’s definitely not what I had in mind, but I’m all in for trying it out," I replied without any hesitation.

"Having Desmond on our side is going to make it easier in some ways and harder in some ways, but at least, we’ll have the king’s support if nothing else," Bradon explained.

"I’m actually quite surprised that he came up with this plan," I responded honestly.

"He’s been thinking about it for a while now. He told me that this is one snowball effect of our plan to take your father and your family down. Suddenly, he’s out of option for who should be Prime Minister," Bradon said before laughing a little.

"So he thinks that I should be responsible, and also dragged you into this?" I asked, incredulously.

I should have known from all the games that I’ve played with him that Desmond was nothing short of being extremely calculating. I doubted that anyone could ever best Desmond when it came to politics if the man put his mind to it.

"He surely thinks that you are responsible and this is his way of keeping you involved. As for me, I think he just sees me as someone useful because we’ve been working together for a very long time," Bradon replied before grinning at me.

"When will the election campaign and all that happen?" I asked.

"Soon. Very soon," Bradon replied.

"I have to say that I’m still trying to wrap my head around this. I thought I married a mafia king but he’s about to become the Prime Minister," I said as I cocked my head to the side.

"Already having regrets?" Bradon asked teasingly.

"No. Never..." I replied with a smile.

Bradon brought his face close to mine, and I automatically closed my eyes to accept his kiss on my lips.

I parted my lips temptingly to invite Bradon’s tongue inside of my mouth. He did not hesitate before slipping his hot and wet tongue into the depths of my mouth.

I found myself moaning from pleasure as our tongues intertwined in a passionate dance. I could taste him, and I could smell him, and his presence seemed to awaken all of my senses.

It felt like I was being reborn again, and it reminded me of how much I missed him and his lovemaking.

Although our wedding did not start the way that I had imagined, I knew that we were both headed in the right direction.

Bradon kissed me more deeply and more passionately than before, his tongue teasing mine before I began kissing him back passionately.

I could feel the heat of our desire burning between us as his hands caressed the curves of my body.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, stroking it up and down as I kissed him back in wild abandon. It felt like a fight to get even closer to each other.

Bradon bit my bottom lip teasingly as I ran my fingers through his hair.

My hands moved to explore the front of his chest, feeling the muscular contours of his chest muscles before moving downwards to caress his beautifully formed abs through his shirt. At the same time, Bradon’s big, manly hands moved to grope my breasts.

"This dress is really in the way. No matter how beautiful it is, I can’t seem to forgive it," Bradon whispered huskily as his hands continued to massage my breasts through my wedding gown.
