Sumatra's Greatest Fan-Chapter 100: The Second Varahan Empress
’What the heck is happening?’ Torq frowned as he took advantage of his role as part of the maintenance crew to rush into the cloud platforms surrounding the Battleship’s hull and moved to a spot that gave a line of sight to the deck of the Central Peak Battleship.
From afar, he couldn’t see things clearly. His line of sight wasn’t clear either. A minute’s thought later, he created a pipe of water and modified it to resemble a periscope.
Using psychokinesis, he made the periscope zigzag at perpendicular angles to stretch to a length of fifty metres, at which point he had a clear view of what was happening on the Central Peak Battleship’s deck.
With some modifications within the periscope to also build in it the features of a telescope, Torq was able to zoom into the situation at hand. And the moment he saw the wavy ivory hair and the weasel-like face bearing an air of arrogance that wore the hair, he instinctively scowled, ’Why did that fucker have to come here?’
’Ah, wait! Did I become a retard or what? This is his territory.’ Torq mentally berated himself and focused on the situation better.
...
"Tell me something," The ivory-haired man grew annoyed upon seeing Bnapbnap’s silence, "I apologise if you’re a mute."
"So?" After a few more seconds of silence, he turned to face Brunta Brimgan, "For what reason did you bring an army of Cooter Clansmen to my territory?"
"I intend to discuss things with you in private." Brunta Brimgan made a formal bow, "Chief Virala."
"Sure," The ivory-haired man let go of his hold over Bnapbnap and casually began to walk towards the closest cabin, "Also, don’t make the mistake ever again."
"I’m not the Chief of the Mystic Humans." The ivory-haired man, Virala, harrumped, "It’s your Guardian."
"I’ll correct my misgivings." Brunta Brimgan bowed as he subtly nodded towards Bnapbnap. The duo accompanied Virala to enter a cabin room meant for secret meetings.
"So?" Slumping his cheeks on the wall, Virala lazily eyed the duo before him, "What does the Cooter Clan intend to accomplish here with an army?"
"The situation’s like this," Brunta Brimgan took the lead to explain, "The Narlakks are targeting the Mystic Humans to create pollen that can affect all Gold Grade Pranic Beasts."
He pointed at Bnapbnap, "I’ve requested the Cooter Clan’s help since they had enough manpower and the means to help us with the situation."
"And the Empire?" Virala asked next, "I never expected them to move slower than the Cooter Clan, considering the route between the Dralh Sea and the Brimgan Sea has been extensively developed for travel."
"I have sent a body to inform them. I’m not sure why they haven’t dispatched a group yet." Brunta Brimgan spoke.
"So, any clues as to where these Narlakks are scheming around in my territory?" Virala asked next, making a mild frown upon seeing Brunta Brimgan shake his head.
"Tell me," He eyed Bnapbnap next, "How good are you in regards to scouting for traces of a Narlakk."
"We have devised some means, but it’ll take a lot of time." Bnapbnap explained, "Even if they have camouflaged themselves, they are still a living being. That means, we can extract fluids from it using Mystic Mist Art."
"We have devised a Skill that constantly tries to create a medicine of every single material in our Spirit Weapon range. Its function is to alert us of the presence of any entity that allows a medicine creation." Bnapbnap concluded, "The one giving us this feedback is either a Nirclick or a Narlakk."
"It’s good you’ve come prepared." Virala extended his hand to offer a shake to Bnapbnap, "I’ll treat your guys well as guests since you’ve arrived bearing concern for my people."
"Welcome to the Dralh Sea," He uttered upon shaking their hands, "Make yourself comfortable in Prata City. Treat it as your centre of operations while you accompany my people to visit the various islands in the region."
"That," Bnapbnap scowled, "We refuse to enter that place."
"Your options are either Prata City or the headquarters, which has literally been built by the Empyrean Snapper mountains." Virala shrugged, "The choice is yours."
"We’ll operate from our Battleships." Bnapbnap clicked his tongue.
"Sure, do whatever you want." Virala waved his hand casually, "I’ll send in my representative to accompany you in your plans."
He exited the room and clapped once, releasing a pulsing radiance of crimson that brightened the region for a moment. And then, he waited for a couple minutes as a woman landed on the deck.
"There’s been an annoyance in the region." He told the woman and pointed at Bnapbnap, "And these Cooter Clansmen have come to help us. Treat them well and ensure their demands are satisfied."
A moment’s thought later, he corrected his statement, "Ignore any of their demands that are related to collateral damage or the death of our people."
"Yes, Founder." The woman bowed politely, and maintained her bow until Virala vanished from the scene. There was a faint gale following suit from Virala’s high-speed movement, and once he had left the place, she introduced herself, starting from Brunta Brimgan, "It’s a honour to meet Your Highness."
"I am Councilwoman Yoribu." The woman then addressed Bnapbnap, "I believe this is the first time our sides have met each other."
"It’s a pleasure making your acquaintance, since I’ve received valuable teachings from one of your Deities." She spoke.
"The pleasure’s all mine." Bnapbnap’s expression grew serious upon recognising the other party, "It’s an honour to greet the Varahan Empress."
The Varahan Empire was a newly established Empire that was rampantly expanding in power, having more than a thousand Gold Grade existences. They were the only force with enough strength and means to contest against the Brimgan Empire.
The first Varahan Empress was Yarsha Zahara, a woman said to have possessed all the talents of Free Humans, the pinnacle of her race. Following her death, the one to take up the throne was Yoribu, becoming the second Varahan Empress.
And even though Yoribu was respectful, Bnapbnap felt pretty tense to interact with her, ’If only I had reached the peak of the Body Stage, I wouldn’t be feeling this overwhelmed every step of the way.’
"Yoribu? That’s her?"
"Then, she’s..." The Cooter Clansmen gasped and instinctively took a step back, growing nervous from her mere presence.
"The Mystic Human Council intends to forge an amicable relationship with the Cooter Clan." Yoribu made a curt bow in respect and twirled once, as if bowing towards everyone at the scene. "At present, I’m just a Mystic Human representing the Council for the purpose that benefits us all."
"Please feel free to express any concerns you have towards me." Her eyes curled up as she revealed a pretty peaceful smile.
"Huff..." Raurau exited his cabin room and wheezed towards the deck, flinching upon making eye contact with Yoribu for a moment. He quickly swerved his head to stare in the direction of the bowl instead, ’She’s his granddaughter.’
’Of the monster that had slaughtered...’ He couldn’t bear to stare at the bowl for more than two seconds and quickly turned around to walk towards the rear end of the deck where Runthral was standing in silence.
Slowly, he pulled Runthral into his embrace and whispered, as if asking for atonement, "Your existence is the only reason my life isn’t a cluster of failures."
"I’m honoured to address you as my son, Runthral."
