Summoned As A Mere Nobody-Yet Possesses An SSS-Rank Ability-Chapter 239: Demon Extermination
"This is the most delicious thing I have ever eaten!"
Their voices filled the area as they devoured the food without restraint. Even the old Dwarves were grinning like children.
Lyra kept serving more plates, but every time she passed by the pot, she sneakily grabbed a piece of meat for herself. She chewed happily while continuing to work.
Nolan smiled slightly as he watched them through the gap.
Damian frowned hard.
"Hey—how come she gets to eat meat? I also want some..."
"No," Nolan said calmly without turning. "You don’t. Let’s wait until they’re all full. Until every Dwarf here finishes eating."
Damian pouted silently but nodded.
Nolan’s eyes narrowed.
"Tonight—or in fact, tomorrow..." Nolan said, voice becoming cold and sharp as steel, "you all are going to strike."
Damian straightened.
"Yes, Master..." he said, his voice deep, his aura rising like a black flame.
His eyes glowed with killing intent.
"Master, every demon hiding among them will be scattered and killed by us."
After the Dwarfs went, Lyra went inside, and they shared the remaining meal for their night.
The following day, as they woke up, each of them went one by one to take a bath. None of them wanted to be the last to go.
As Celia and Linda were about to head in, Damian blocked them.
"You shall never pass me! To dare defy my master... to look at my master while he is bathing... you perverted ladies!" Damian said dramatically.
"You bastard!" Celia and Linda shouted as they both punched Damian at the same time. He fell to the ground, and they immediately began marching toward him, angry and nonstop.
"Who the hell are you calling a pervert?!" Celia yelled.
"It’s our master! We only wanted to sneak a peek, and you’re here calling us perverts? You bastard!" Linda shouted.
Just then, Nolan walked out, cleaning his hair with a towel as if it were his treasure.
"What is happening here?" Nolan asked.
"Nothing, master," Celia and Linda said with innocent smiles.
Damian, still lying on the ground, pointed weakly. "Master, they were about to—"
Before he could finish, Celia pulled out a hammer from who-knows-where and slammed it on Damian’s head. He dropped again.
Nolan looked away. "It looks like you all were having fun," he said with a small smile as he went to get his bathing suit.
"Master... is it time?" Lyra asked.
"Yes, it is. Damian, get up from the ground and stop fooling around," Nolan said.
Damian immediately stood up. "Sorry, master."
"You guys are in your human forms, right? Good. Go—in your human forms—and kill every demon in this town. Over a hundred of them. You must kill them as fast as possible," Nolan ordered.
"Roger that, master," Damian said.
"I’m ready. Just your final order. Tell me when it’s time," Lyra added.
"Master, do you want to leave us behind?" Celia asked.
"Yes, master... do you really want us to stay behind and do nothing?" Linda added. "We can help too. We’re strong."
"Well, it’s demons. You two are strong... but just go and scout. Anything unusual, anything bad about to happen—take on a common demon together. But anything stronger than a normal demon, don’t step in. Nothing will happen to you because the moment something does, I’ll know. So suit yourselves."
"Let’s go outside," Nolan said.
They all walked out of the stone house.
"Damian, Lyra... it’s about time," Nolan said. "I’m going to let the Dwarfs see that humans have entered. While you guys kill every demon, I’ll be the one to announce it to the Dwarfs."
"Now—take them all down," Nolan said, stretching his hand forward.
"Yes, master!" Celia, Lyra, and Linda said.
Celia and Linda dashed forward on foot. Damian and Lyra flew up, both moving extremely fast and landing in separate places. They hit the ground with impact but didn’t care—they immediately moved again.
Lyra slashed a Dwarf. Another Dwarf saw the battle and stepped back. Lyra held back purposely, giving the demon a chance to dodge. The "Dwarf" transformed into its demon form.
"A demon is here!" the real Dwarfs shouted.
Lyra instantly killed it, then moved on to the next.
Damian did the same—killing demon after demon.
Meanwhile, Nolan flew up over the town and shouted:
"Everyone in the Dwarf Kingdom! I am Nolan Thorne, from the village Sintra! We have come—to obliterate and kill every demon!"
"No! No! What is a human doing here?! Go away, human!" some Dwarfs shouted from below.
"Go away!" more voices cried in fear.
Nolan glared down.
"I should leave because of a grudge with humans? You fools. Most of your loved ones are dead, and you are staying with demons! You should be ashamed!" Nolan said.
"You don’t have good crops. You barely survive. And you know there are demons among you. The savior has come to take them out, and you’re trying to send me away?"
"The General of the Knights already knows I’m here. Don’t worry. You will be safe. You’re only acting like this because you’re scared—but I will make sure you are safe."
"My companions are killing thousands of demons. Some of you saw a human moving extremely fast, cutting a Dwarf—and the Dwarf turned into a demon. That was them."
"When they finish, I will join them. And you all will follow me to the castle—to see the demon who lives there. And I assure you... you will be protected. By me. Nolan."
"What do you mean? What are you trying to say?" a Dwarf shouted. "Even if you’re doing that, how are you sure it’s not for your own benefit, huh? What makes you think we can trust you!?"
Nolan slowly descended, still floating slightly above the ground. His expression didn’t even change.
"No wonder you guys never excel in anything," Nolan said coldly. "The only thing you’re good at is blacksmithing. Am I right? But now... I can see you have at least a little brain."
He narrowed his eyes.
"Do you actually care what I gain from this or not? That shouldn’t be your concern."
The crowd murmured. The Dwarf who had spoken earlier stepped back, shocked.
"There have been a lot of kids who went missing," Nolan continued, voice rising. "Dwarf children. Missing for months. And there are rumors—and witnesses. People have seen a Dwarf transforming into a demon and eating a child. A Dwarf child."
Gasps spread among the crowd.
"And you’re worried about what I gain," Nolan said, voice like a blade. "When someone who can finally save you appears? You must be a fool."
Silence fell.
Then—
"It doesn’t matter!" one Dwarf yelled, raising his hand. Tears pressed at the corners of his eyes. "I lost my child! A Dwarf transformed into a demon and ate my child!"
Another Dwarf stepped forward.
"Me too."
"Me too!"
"Me too!" more voices shouted, one after another.
A scarred Dwarf pushed forward, raising his chin. "Not just my child. My entire family was killed. Look at my eye—one eye blind. They tried to kill me for seeing them transform. But I survived."
More Dwarfs stepped up behind him, fists clenched.
"Me!"
"Me too!"
"We are with you!"
"We are with you!"
Nolan smiled—sharp, satisfied.
"Now that’s what I’m talking about."
Then the Dwarf Knight General—the Knight—stepped through the crowd, stroking his braided beard.
"You already made your move, Mr. Nolan," he said. "Outstanding. And yes... I can sense it. I’m capable of sensing when a demon is near—especially when there are many. I can’t pinpoint them, but I know none of your companions are killing normal Dwarfs. The number reducing so drastically... it means your people are moving swiftly."
"Well, yeah," Nolan replied simply. "They already are."
He pointed toward the castle.
"And you. And anyone brave enough—will follow me inside that castle. There’s a high-ranking demon there. You will see him in his true demon form. He didn’t shapeshift or disguise himself. He’s too proud to take the form of a Dwarf, a race he considers beneath him."
"You’re serious?" the Knight said. "Are you for real? That castle... is death. You’re going to be killed! It’s a huge problem!"
Some Dwarfs trembled, fear rising in their eyes.
But Nolan stepped forward, voice booming.
"Don’t you want to see what’s inside that castle? Don’t you want to see the mastermind behind everything? No servants, no maids, no one is allowed inside. You all know—the Dwarf who ruled this kingdom was killed. Murdered by the demon who took over."
He pointed at the crowd.
"Even if you haven’t seen him, I will confirm it. But before that—prepare yourselves."
Then he turned to the Knight.
"And you... Knight. I showed you what I’m capable of. Do you really think I would fail to protect you all?"
The Dwarf Knight lowered his head respectfully, hand brushing through his beard.
"I know... Forgive me," he said. "You are truly strong. Those who want to follow may follow. I assure you... he is strong enough to protect us."
